So I see that Jimmy Fallon is trending, and not in good way. He hasn’t tweeted anything since yesterday (I guess the feedback hasn’t been so great). Contrast that with when POTUS was on his show back in June…he posted several tweets post-show, along with numerous tweets from grateful, satisfied viewers who thoroughly enjoyed his show, especially the segment with President Obama.
The only people praising him right now are Trump supporters…
I hope he notes the difference…
But letâs not let two basic facts get lost in this discussion:
1) Trump has actively trafficked in this racist consipracy theory for years, and not only that, he continued to feed it this year, even as he was running for the GOP nomination for president.
2) All indications are that Trump conceived of his birtherism as an explicitly racist appeal. While the true nature of Trumpâs actual beliefs is important, since it goes to his fitness to serve as president, itâs also important that Trump explicitly tried to feed what he himself appeared to believe were racist tendencies among Republican primary voters, for political purposes.
If he admits that PBO was born in the US, I would think that his numerous white nationalists/alt-right/racists supporters will turn on him….or is there anything he could do that would make them revolt????

He’ll give his faux apology and we’re supposed to act like he’s not a racist? Like he wasn’t sued for denying blacks the process of renting an apartment? Like he didn’t call for violence against innocent black boys who didn’t commit a crime and were falsely charged? Like his family doesn’t have ties to white supremacists?

This entire spectacle is so hurtful on some many levels that I really donât know where to begin. The fact that America still allows this man to let linger through the air the possibility that the first African American President might not have been born in this country speaks volumes and it is so disrespectful to African Americans. And then some of you wonder why some of us donât give two fucks about your anthem. We have laid down our lives defending this country in all of your legal and sometimes illegal wars. And now on this day you give center stage to a man that disrespects black people every chance he gets and you stand idly by pretending to be confused as to why he acts the way he does. Make no mistake about it, come November it will be black people that will save America from itself once again.
