    Just saw the statement from the pastor of the Methodist Church, Faith Green, on the last thread. A Black woman put him in check and of course, he lied about it. She was at no time a “nervous mess” when she checked him in the church according to the video, nor when she spoke to the media about what really happened. D T tried the bait and switch that has worked so well with the media, and most recently with Dr. Oz, but she was not having it. He is a liar and a coward.

      Go get ’em, Hillz! May God bless, guide and strengthen you and your team.

      On another note, the pastor in Flint made me proud to be a UM! 🙂 Just this moment remembered that Hillary is also a UM–and very proud of her Methodist heritage and it still guides her today.

      You know VC, the media just can’t help themselves, Beat up in Hillary because she got pneumonia, I got it from n allergy cold and so did my Son. And it took me 3 months to get rid of it and the side affects of the meds I had to take. This is so much BS.

        Honestly, Roberta, their treatment of HRC has been *deplorable*. If nothing else, this campaign has opened my eyes further to the media’s hatred. In PBO’s case it was to his race and in Hillary’s is to her gender.

          Add in being part of the Democratic Party as I am beginning to feel the corporate owned stations pressure their reporters to tilt towards the GOP and to create controversy to up their ratings. I am also thinking the journalists feel pressure to do what their bosses say to do in fear of losing their jobs, it could be some Stockholm Syndrome too.

            Yes, OG, I suspect there may be pressure on the journalists to create controversy, but at the same time it’s pathetic to see that so few of them have anything at their own core. On the whole they are mostly all like parrots.

        It really angers me how soon so many have forgotten what a horrible mess we were left by W. How angry people were that there were no jobs, people losing their homes, their life savings. And now, so many are willing to risk it all again.

          Meta, I share your anger. It’s as if so many people in our country are afflicted with amnesia. As far as I am concerned, I think the corporate, so called mainstream media, are to blame for this situation. They focus on trivia, sensationalism, manufactured scandals, and endless polling; instead of writing stories that inform and educate people.

      Oh, meta, I’m running several days behind, and you just started my day off with sobs with this video. So proud of this man, so grateful we have had him as our dear president for almost 8 years, as a roll model for so many on how to put others first, their needs first before those of most politicians for reelection or another committee appointment, etc., Still so amazed at what he has been able to accomplish with such an obstructive Congress. And, of course, tears for all of us when we can no longer spend each day with him and his family, sharing his experiences, joys and sorrows.
      With him, and the help of Pete Sousa, we have visited almost every country in the world, certainly every state, many national parks. We have learned about peoples and cultures the media never tells us about, and opened our eyes to the needs of others in our nation and abroad, and shown us how to give respect and care to others, sometimes with just a full blown sincere smile or touch of his hand.
      The joyful tears I am shedding blend with the ones of sorrow at the thought of this dear friend, for that is how I think of him, moving on in a few months. I thank God for all these photos and videos, for they will help are the pain of his leaving a bit. And I look forward with such expectation for what he and his family and the Bidens will be doing come January.
      And one last thing I just realized. In January all of his staff, all of those who have been with him, whether for a few months or all 8 years, or more, will be unleashed across this country to bring his way of governing, of problem solving, of inclusiveness to wherever they work and live. It will be a wave of Obamanism that will spread across the land, exciting and invigorating this country to even greater heights. I am so looking forward to that. {{{{{everyone}}}}}

    Attended our monthly Progressive Dems meeting today, and boy is there are lot of “sky is falling,” bed-wetting” going on about the recent polls. We had the regional and local campaign organizers there and they tried to explain how it was important to reach our targeted numbers and not fret about polls, but no one seemed to be listening. Someone said that we needed to find every Republican and try to ‘persuade’ them to vote for Hillary, which on a one by one basis, should take us to 2020. This is the kind of thing that makes me crazy. Democrats are allowing themselves to be jerked around by the media and polling companies and are going off the deep end. I’ve been feeling under the weather lately and this just exhausted me.

    Hillary Clinton Will Pivot Too
    by Nancy LeTourneau – September 15, 2016 1:43 PM

    // ……………………………………..

    ………………Overall, the message has been weighted on the side of “vote for Clinton because Donald Trump is scary and unfit for office.” The pivot will be to rebalance that message with a positive one about Hillary Clinton’s vision for the country.

    I can understand the dilemma Palmieri points to about what it means to run against such a controversial opponent. Trump is uniquely terrifying and responding to that threat can overwhelm even the best intentions of a policy wonk like Clinton. But this is something I’ve been thinking she needs to do for a while now. For a lot of voters, the specter of a Trump presidency is enough to get them to vote for Clinton. But it leads to a guttural feel about the whole election. In other words, it’s time to implement Michelle Obama’s slogan: “when they go low, we go high.” That doesn’t mean that the campaign will ignore Trump’s nonsense. It just means that it’s time to put it into perspective and also make an affirmative case for why Clinton should be president.

      Yes! This has bothered me all along– the implication that supporting HRC is mostly about stopping T-rump, rather than actually positively wanting her as president. It felt like a set-up, earlier on, that the rethugs could upend by replacing DT. Still true, but less likely now. In any case, it’s important to promote her candidacy on its own merits. Otherwise, we subtly support the notion that she’s somehow a default, that not even Dems truly want, and undercut our own arguments.

        Hi Susanne. I must say that HRC’s campaigning AND the persistent reaction she has elicited from the media has been an education for me. Given all the darkness MSM have tossed her way, I have definitely been able to see her far more clearly than before.

    Sharing this in quotes this time, Part 2 of Alan Oken’s commentary on the eclipse effect on the election: please consider following him on FB: Alan Oken Wisdom of Astrology/facebook.com

    “September 15: Astrological Commentaries from Bali. Hello everyone. I would like to continue with the 2nd of my posts re the forthcoming eclipse on the 16th at 24 Pisces/Virgo and direct these observations at a more personal level. But before doing so, I do need to add a comment or two to what I posted on September 13 re Hillary and Trump. (If technical astrology is not your thing, just skip the rest of this paragraph and move on to the personal comments in the next section of this post.) My friend, astrologer Henry Seltzer brought two further important astrological factors to my attention in terms of the eclipse chart: 1. The position of Mercury retrograde at 17 degrees of Virgo and 2. The position of Chiron at 23.30 Pisces. When we look into DT’s natal chart, we find Uranus at 17 Gemini, thus Mercury will exactly square this position–look for something “unexpected” (LOL) to come out of the Donald’s mouth (and/or files) that will prove to be very wrong, challenging public opinion. Chiron is afflicting both of their charts and old wounds abound: In Trump’s case about money (what else?) as Chiron falls in his 2nd house square natal Sun/Moon. In Hillary’s case, these are old emotional wounds I would venture to say that strike at the core of her psychological foundation (opp. eclipsed Moon in her 4th). Important to note: When challenged Trump will move to new territory and start again Gemini/Sagittarius). When challenged, Hillary will maintain her ground and regenerate (super Scorpio!). The next 10 days will be very interesting. Enough said…

    On a more personal note, if you have 20-28 degrees of Virgo/Pisces prominent in your natal chart (as well as these degrees in Gemini/Sagittarius), this lunar eclipse will be speaking very closely with you. Now WHERE this conversation takes place depends on the house positions where this eclipse happens in your natal chart. I obviously cannot delineate this individually in a post. But what I can say to everyone is that whichever these two house may be, you can be sure that situations and relationships relative to these astrological domiciles will occupy your attention. (Very briefly: 1-7-relationships; 2-8-finances;3-9-beliefs, travels, siblings;4-10-personal security in terms of home and/or career; 5-11-friends, groups, social life; 6-12-health, work). Any planets at the above mentioned degrees are highlighted. What they represent for you in terms of life energy, people, psychological characteristics, etc. will be tagged by this eclipse. Examples: Moon in 20-28 of the mutables–the sense of personal security will come up for examination. If you pass the tests that appear, well you have your foundation in place! If there are any “wiggles” then this is a “gift” from the eclipse that will let you know what must be made more cohesive within your life. Mercury in these degrees: There is a test relative to what and how you are communicating and sharing your ideas and opinions as well as in how you interpret what is presented to you. Questions may easily come up relative to travel or study plans. Other positions, well this constitues HEAPS of etc….as you can imagine. Bottom line: wherever we have resistance to change, that is surely an area that will come up for us, especially during an eclipse to MAJOR points and places in our natal chart. As there are a minimum of four eclipses a year (two solar and two lunar), not all eclipses speak to us personally. The Universe does have a modicum of compassion and does give us a break from time to time!

    I hope this information has been helpful. Love and blessings to one and all, AO”

    And that it for WMPW for a few days. Daughter arriving in town, brother arriving in town, and a wedding Saturday evening well out of town!! I’m going into deep meditation now as the eclipse approaches. Many blessings, big hugs all around. Thank you, TOD. Chipsticks dear, you and DannyO’ are forever in our hearts! ❤️🌹🙏🏻🌹❤️

      I generally watch snippets of Josh Ernst press briefings, and I think it has been at least 12 months since I last watched a full briefing. I am amazed at the wide range of knowledge of the US administration he possesses, and the skill with which he deals with the questions, and how his answers are consistent with past administrations decisions and actions. Over the past 8 – 9 years following candidate and then PBO, his approach to everything has been consistent from the beginning (since I started paying attention to then Senator BO). Also I especially marveled at how he handled the question quoting Cheney, on the two recidivist former GITMO detainees and turning it back hammering it back at Cheney in the worst possible light.Josh Ernst anticipated the question and squashed it flat.

      Swbluega, Trump is reading words written by someone else and has no idea of the meaning or consequences of what he is reading. He doesn’t care, because he knows that the “deplorables” and “poorly educated” (his own words) are going to follow him no matter what he says.

    Interesting piece on PBS about Delaware County, OH. Interviewed Trump and Clinton supporters. Trump supporters quickly reveal their uninformed selves. Mainly T because they are Republicans and have always voted that way. One guy, however, has voted R since 1984 but is voting for Johnson. Says T is only for T!!!! No way he will vote for Clinton. HIllary’s supporters, both younger women with kids, talked about how she has always worked for women and children and how steady and dependable and hard worker she is.
