Thank you for another great day of info Nerdy! You are the best.

That is far more than I can say for the media in this country. We have two big stories floating around, the Newsweek piece on the conflicts presented by Trump’s businesses and his shenanigans with his Foundation, and the news focuses on his stunt with whoever that idiot doctor is on daytime television. As if that isn’t bad enough, the media then proceeds to equate the paper handed to the daytime tv person (and not the public) with the serious letter released by Clinton’s doctor. IF Clinton loses this election, the focus should be squarely on the media. They have done their damnest to take her down while giving Trump a pass on everything.

We all know at this point we have a whole lot of people in this country who do not educate themselves as to what is at stake in the election. Instead, they take their cues from the media and half listen to that nonsense. The media has bent over backwards to paint Hillary as untrustworthy, dishonest and hiding things from the day she announced. I am absolutely incensed that they refuse to acknowledge their role in this debacle, and continue on with the very things that got us to this point in the first place. After placing HUNDREDS of reporters on stories to track Clinton’s minor illness this weekend, how many reporters do you think have been assigned to further follow the trail laid out by Kurt Eichenwald in the Newsweek piece? I’d guess none. Disgusting. And while I’m venting, I’d sure like to know what Bernie is doing to make sure his supporters turn out to vote for Hillary rather than Jill Stein. As far as I can tell, he is doing nothing. Nice.

      a short while back, I saw a few tweets sent out on BS’ account and I wanted to respond because what I saw was not in anyway helpful for the election;

I decided to move on and keep my thoughts to myself because they were not going to be nice to him at all

From what I read in an earlier article, it sounded as if he was on the verge of having charges brought, but politics (i,e, Abbott )stepped in and quashed it.

Had morningjoke running in background this am; DannyD went on a rant about #trumptaxes, Steele had the audacity to laugh it off, saying “…the public doesn’t care…”

    • September 15, 2016 at 8:57 am

It’s annoying that the media thinks it’s their responsibility to tell us what we care about, or that we’re panicking, or what our priorities are. Never mind they, like our crackerjack GOP congress, won’t do the job they’re supposed to be doing — provide the facts and go after the important issues.

They act shocked about the findings regarding Trump’s charities and business dealings, but are doing little to keep it highlighted in their 24/7 news cycle, and are doing little if anything to dig deeper. If they put as much effort into demanding Trump release his taxes as they did whining about HRC giving press conferences….if they were really interested in getting them released …maybe we would know more about what they contain and what he doesn’t want us to know.

When the press/MSM asks Clinton surrogates why the race is so close — why she can’t close the deal, surrogates should hold up a mirror so the press can see themselves and know that *they* are the reason (at least a major part of the reason) why.

Cosmopolitan Magazine did an interview with Ivanka about that bullshyt leave policy that she’s been shilling. And, lo and behold, they had ‘the nerve’ to actually get into the weeds and ask her serious questions about it . Of course, she cut the interview short.

So I think that you have a lot of negativity in these questions, and I think my father has put forth a very comprehensive and really revolutionary plan to deal with a lot of issues. So I don’t know how useful it is to spend too much time with you on this if you’re going to make a comment like that.

    • September 15, 2016 at 10:01 am

Missed your comment…re-posted below. I hope more interviews go like this where Trump and his surrogates aren’t getting fluff questions. Hopefully, interviewers will also continue to call them out when they don’t answer the question and won’t allow them to try to pivot to “but Hillary…”.

That is encouraging. I have said either Ivanka has learned to lie with no remorse from the greatest liar on earth, her Dad or she is not the intelligent woman she pretends to be.

Oh my…. if Trump surrogates can’t control the interview…

It’s no secret that Donald Trump has a problem with women voters. So it’s no surprise that he is trying to reach out to them, and his daughter Ivanka is a key ally in this. Together, they recently unveiled his new plan for childcare and maternity leave. As part of plan’s promotion, Ivanka Trump recently sat down for an interview with Cosmopolitan. It didn’t go well.

The interview went all right until the the interviewer, Prachi Gupta, asked about why the policy didn’t include paternity leave. Gupta noted that paid leave for men could do a lot to help end gender pay gap and help gay couples. Trump’s response was basically that her proposed plan was better than nothing.

Things got even more heated when Gupta asked for clarifications regarding statements Ivanka’s father has made in the past regarding pregnancy being “inconvenient’ for business. Instead of addressing the issue, Trump accused Gupta of being “negative.”

When Gupta asked how Trump’s father planned to pay for this plan she abruptly cut the interview short after noting that her father would reveal his full tax plan on Thursday.

I was just curious…..and this is what I found. Legal mumbojumbo oppositeness for DT Properties Equal Housing.

Equal Housing Opportunity. We are pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin.”

Letter and spirit??? WTF. AKA “Not REALLY Fair Housing!”

    From Wiki:

The letter of the law versus the spirit of the law is an idiomatic antithesis. When one obeys the letter of the law but not the spirit, one is obeying the literal interpretation of the words (the “letter”) of the law, but not necessarily the intent of those who wrote the law. Conversely, when one obeys the spirit of the law but not the letter, one is doing what the authors of the law intended, though not necessarily adhering to the literal wording.

“Law” originally referred to legislative statute, but in the idiom may refer to any kind of rule. Intentionally following the letter of the law but not the spirit may be accomplished through exploiting technicalities, loopholes, and ambiguous language.

Also found in: Thesaurus, Legal, Encyclopedia, Wikipedia.
    Related to antithesis: litotes
    an·tith·e·sis (ăn-tĭth′ĭ-sĭs)
    n. pl. an·tith·e·ses (-sēz′)
    1. Direct contrast; opposition.
    2. The direct or exact opposite: Hope is the antithesis of despair.
    a. A figure of speech in which sharply contrasting ideas are juxtaposed in a balanced or parallel phrase or grammatical structure, as in “Hee for God only, shee for God in him” (John Milton).
    b. The second and contrasting part of such a juxtaposition.
    4. The second stage of the Hegelian dialectic process, representing the opposite of the thesis.

    You can figure this out:)

    Good Morning TOD

I have heard from our Dudette

She did have a health issue that she has been dealing with the last couple of weeks but is now home recovering. She very much appreciates our concern and looking out for her. She says to tell everyone that she will be back with us soon.

Sending healing thoughts her way ❤ ❤ ❤
