    Nerdy, THANK YOU so much for the posting on our Presidents trip. No were in the media are we getting the information you supply to us TOD’ers. You are one awesome lady. 🙂

      Roberta, it’s a tragedy that the US media puts up an information block on all that our President does and all that happens in the world. We get endless hours of nonsense from the loutish bigot who’s running for President, but not one word of real news. Americans have no idea how they are cynically manipulated by the media to keep them in ignorance. We are willfully betrayed by our supposed information sources.

        I will NEVER understand why the national media thinks that was the way to go – that information block on our President. Even if we bring up all the -isms, there is not even a hint of a sane reason to do it. This is what is so damn frustrating about it.

        It is almost like the lack of competent journalists and media outlets are cheating the citizens of knowing our present. Then someday when the present time becomes our history even though we lived through it we will not know it. The exception is those of us engaged beyond the news. Lucky we have this blog and WH.gov. Thank you Chips and those now running it as well as those who have participated in it. My fervent prayer is that Trump does not somehow win for all of our sakes as well as the world’s. I also want President Obama’s hard work and policy changes to not be reversed. I am thinking we ALL need to somehow leave evidence of the real experienced history of the time of Obama as I do not trust the historians to get it right.

      You’ll be happy to hear there’s been a giant (non-lethal, I’m told) spider weaving a web off and on for two weeks between my house and garage. No one’s killed it yet, and today my teenage grandson took photos of it to show me (like I needed to see it). I’m not afraid of it, but it’s kind of taken over (changed our walking paths, for instance). Everybody around here is walking into webs – even the woman who filled in for our regular mail handler this week accidentally walked into one and did the “spider dance” and yell on the street the other day. I was on my front porch, on the very quiet street, and the only one outside to commiserate with her. Of course, I laughed at the little dance she did, once she turned around and couldn’t see me.

      Guilt trip? Uh, no.

    Happy Labor Day to Nerdy Wonka, who labors all day, every day to keep this place here for us to lurk, comment, find information, encouragement and solace.

    And also look at gorgeous pics of our bad-ass leader President Obama.

    Thank you Nerdy!

    Hello Meta, thanks a lot for that link to VP Joe’s walk through that Youngstown neighborhood.

    I am glad I spent part of my time today watching it and seeing how people of different backgrounds were coming out to get a chance to interact with PBO’s friend and dear brother.

    Americans chose well in 2008 and 2012. Praying that the streak continues this November, 2016

    • September 5, 2016 at 11:19 pm

      Wasn’t it fun? I’t was also such a wonderful glimpse of how VP Joe connects with people from all walks of life, how genuine he is. He is a wonderful man and a great VP.

        also looking at the flow of the majority of comments accompanying the video was very gratifying

    In Ohio, we are used to candidates returning over and over to our state before any election.

    It seems that true to previous elections, Dems are determined to carry Ohio this November.

    I must say that this weekend alone, we can see the strategy of how Team Clinton/Kaine is going to block off all possible paths to a small chance of the homegrown demagogue winning.

    Even before the best campaigner (PBO), the Closer (FLOTUS), and Dr. Jill Biden join the action, you could see that the local media markets in were dominated by Team Clinton/Kaine;

    I am staying tuned to further developments on this front.

        amazing how she chose to go through life without any public compassion of others on issues that are so fundamental

          September 6, 2016 at 12:32 am

          Of course, she was only one of many – just one of the most determined and public voices, trying to be judge and jury over the rest of us.

            not to be petty but in presentation, she also seemed to want to emulate the aristocracy look (the multiple pearls, hairdo, numerous pins/insignia … and all)

    so, during the few hours I went to bed, the Philippines’ president Duterte says he “regrets” his comments “which were ‘misinterpreted’ as a personal insult on PBO”;

    guess, the bombastic punk can’t even stay in his punk-lane for long.

    this is the kind of leader extremism gives you when you fall for hatred and pompous speech

    Good Morning folks. GM Nerdy. Will be gone most of the day, behave yourselves while I am gone Hahaha. Love my President, this trip Laos is so very important and he is doing the right thing for their nation and ours. So many heart broken people and pain during that time in our history. If you can go to Jim Wrights FB page and read a comment from a woman on Gun Sense. It will break your heart and giver a big round of applause.
    Bye for now.

    CNN has a new poll with Trump leading Hillary Clinton 45-43. Anyone believe that? I know people are talking about the FBI continuing to release info about the email investigation. When you decide not to bring charges why is the FBI keep releasing stuff. If the head of the FBI doing this to get back at Hillary.

    Dallas Morning News this morning…

    http://www.dallasnews.com/opinion/editorials/20160906-donald-trump-is-no-republican.ece

    What does it mean to be a Republican?

    For generations, the answer had been clear: A belief in individual liberty. Free markets. Strong national defense.

    But what does it mean to be a Republican today? With Donald Trump as the party’s new standard-bearer, it’s impossible to say.

    Even before Trump’s name reached the top of the GOP presidential ticket, the party was pulled in different directions. Many Republicans held fast to the good-governing principles of the past, while a growing wing of the party yanked hard from the right to force a conscripted definition of conservatism.

    Inexplicably, the presidential candidate who emerged from that ideological tug of war was the one who thumbed his nose at conservative orthodoxy altogether. Trump is — or has been — at odds with nearly every GOP ideal this newspaper holds dear.

    Donald Trump is no Republican and certainly no conservative.

    Rest at the link
