Nerdy, you are a treasure! Looking at the MSM you’d never know our President is busy making history on the world stage. Thank you again (always) for stepping in to keep Miss Chips’ baby alive and well while she’s on break.

said by WMPW, who is still looking at those pics from MidwayAtoll, all the way back in yesterday!! Sigh. I just call PBO, Master President, now. Because he has shown the entire world what it means to lead, to innovate, to have a vision and to achieve that vision. For the good of all life forms, including (losers) mankind. How blessed are we?? Yes.

For me PBO has not only done what you’ve said, MP, but he has done it *continually* with such class, such style, such thoroughness! I don’t think I’ll ever be able to explain how unbelievably PROUD I am of him, and his family. I have *NEVER* felt so much affinity & identity with a public/political figure. Having lived and worked as the ‘only’ POC most of my adult life in an environment where the media paint a constant negative picture of us, the side of POCs that the Obamas have shown the entire world (or the parts of it that had been unaware) has lifted my head up really high. They have been a blessing in so many ways. May God continue to bless *each* of them daily, in ways we haven’t even thought of!

National Leaders Reject Donald Trump’s Outreach Effort to African Americans

After a campaign spent courting white supremacists and playing into misleading stereotypes about people of color, today in Detroit, Donald Trump addressed a predominantly African American audience for the first time.

While Trump can attempt to reach out to African Americans, he has proven to the community time and again that he is unfit to be president and he has no interest in working with the African American community.
“I have no room for conversation with Mr. Trump, until he first apologizes to the President and the entire African American community for attempting to delegitimize his presidency with regard to him being a US Citizen. If a person has no respect for an African American serving in the highest position in this country and world, then how can I believe that he has any respect for me?” –Bishop Charles Ellis, Detroit Faith and Community Leader

    I’m shocked.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has not paid at least ten of his top staff members for their work, according to a new Reuters report based on federal campaign finance filings. Those who apparently worked for free on the campaign include top staffers such as Paul Manafort, who recently stepped down amid scandal over his earlier business dealings with corrupt Ukrainian leaders. In addition, Trump’s California state director Tim Clark, communications director Michael Caputo and two senior aides who left in June to work for a Trump Super PAC have all not been paid, according to the campaign finance filings.

      September 3, 2016 at 9:10 pm

What in Donald Trump’s past would lead any of his staffers to think they would be paid fairly in a timely manner? More likely they would need to sue him and it would cost them more with his perfected delay tactics than they would get from it. That is the life lessons he has learned from his business experiences. Adopting Donald’s tactics in our government would result in our loan ratings downgraded. No one in the world would trust our word. We would lose our “exceptional” standing with other nations.

White Nationalism is the respectable euphemism for “White Supremacy.” Just as the Southern states vowed to restore white supremacy when they overthrew the post Civil War Reconstruction governments in which Blacks played a crucial role, mordern day White Nationalists, now led by Donald Trump, are on a mission to restore white supremacy and complete white domination. By the way, the post Civil War white supremacists always had token blacks surrogates that they used in their march to restore “White Supremacy.” Trump and his nationalist (a.k.a. White supremacy) movement is using the same play book. People of all races must stay organized and vigilant to make sure that Trump, and his white supremacist supporters, are throughly defeated at the polls in 2016.

I know she is probably doing debate prep and stuff, but we need her to make an appearance. Trump and his racist crew are running amok.

She has been giving important speeches like the one on mental health care and raising millions of dollars in fundraising events that will give her enough money for ad buys and expand her ground game. People start paying attention after Labor Day and Hillary has the best ground game in PA that I have ever seen. The media, bless its biased little heart, covers every Trump pronouncement, but ignores Hillary’s major speeches.

TRUMP AND THE DANCING BEAR SYNDROME (aka the soft bigotry of low expectations)

This week on the Keeping It 1600 Podcast, Jon Favreau and Dan Pfeiffer talked about Trumps junket to Mexico. At about the 13:00 mark they talk the gushing reactions from the media. It was great optics, it was a big win, It was A+, he really cleared the bar, etc. Then Jon said that David Axelrod used to call this the dancing bear syndrome. When a bear starts dancing you don’t give the bear shit for dancing badly, you give the bear credit for dancing at all.

Should be “talked to dan and me” – not “I” – but, hey, I’m not the speechwriter. 🙂

Noticed that too, jb. That is a very common error, that seems to be very difficult to explain and correct. I hate to say it, but a man of Jon’s credentials should know better. People like us are affectionately known as “grammar hammers” in my little world.

I respectfully disagree with you, Ladyhawke, The NYT didn’t get snookered, newspapers don’t get snookered. If you and I are smart enough to figure out Trump the NYT is smart enough to figure out Trump. The NYT chose to focus on Clinton and ignore Trump’s many fuck-ups and lies.

Ugh, we are living in complex times with complex issues. A leader must be able to grasp every issue and come up with the best solution while making sure all parties are made whole. I just don’t think that Trump can all of sudden become a deep thinker.

Good Morning. A Happy Birthday salute to Alycee today–may she be blessed with many, many more. Yesterday was a glorious day celebrating our granddaughter’s 4th birthday in Virginia. It took us three hours pre-departure time to put together a PlayMobile princess castle, which seemed to have thousands of minuscule parts too tiny for adult hands. It was all worth it to see her face when she unwrapped it. Off for our morning walk. Have a great day!!!

    • September 5, 2016 at 10:24 pm

Thanks, Jackie! Bet your little Princess is still beaming! Aren’t grandkids fantastic!

Must confess, glad my “assembly” days are OVER! Although, I’m about to refinish a desk I got for my 9th birthday, which was later used by my sons, as a Christmas gift for my 8yr old granddaughter. My Uncle Ed built it for me; I hope she’ll cherise it as my as I do…

Good Sunday morning TOD folks! Oh for a ‘Trumpless’ day.
