Nerdy, thank you for these gorgeous photos of PBO’s visit to Baton Rouge. He lifts people up simply by his presence.
But I am reposting this from the last thread. I am so furious with the media over the Clinton Foundation coverage. What is wrong with these jackals?
The idea that it is TRUMP screaming pay to play and the media buys it is nothing short of insane. Apparently, they have forgotten his two payoffs to the AGs of TX and FL IN EXCHANGE for their not pursuing lawsuits against Trump University. THAT is the definition of pay to play. So where is the coverage of that? Along with his Bank of China loans, loans and dealings with Russian oligarchs, etc etc. They do not have ONE instance of anything being done for the supposed access provided by the Clinton foundation. And it is big on every single media outlet. Absolutely disgusting.

I don’t hate people, but I sure come close to hating the media.
I stopped watching the so-called evening news years ago except to check-in to see how they report the lead-in story if it is about PBO, or to check in later in the broadcast to catch human interest stories like the Olympics or something weather related. Thank God for the many different ways to connect with people that the White House has employed to get around the useless msm.

It’s so refreshing to see him rise above the pettiness and just take care of business. I’m also glad that Hillary is not reacting with hair on fire because of the constant irritants.

Good for you, GGail, that’s exactly what we need to do–work hard and keeping moving forward. PBO and Hillary are not only seasoned politicians, they are both statesmen. They know what’s important and will not let the stupid idiots in the media nor the bullies in the Trump camp ruffle them.
I agree, Gail. I printed out a comment from a few threads back about the young man working on the 08 campaign and how he just kept his head down and kept on working. Trump “Left Nothing But Ruins Everywhere He’s Gone”

Paul Friel’s dad was “living the American Dream.” His family cabinet-making business had grown, and Donald Trump hired it to make all the cabinetry in his new Trump Plaza in Atlantic City. But after the job was done, Trump refused to pay the full amount of what was owed. Friel’s father filed a lawsuit, but his lawyer advised him the legal fees would outweigh the cost of the cabinet work. Friel decided to cut his losses and drop the suit — but Trump blacklisted Friel’s company anyway. Friel eventually had to lay off many of his workers, who had become his family. “Donald Trump thinks he can make America great again, but he’s left nothing but ruins everywhere he’s gone,” Paul says.

More black drivers than white or Hispanic drivers were pulled over, but white drivers were less likely to be searched or get a ticket. Perhaps not surprisingly, white drivers are also more likely to report that the officer behaved properly.
I guess the Bernie of Bust has impacted Bernieland.
First of all, why is Bernie launching anything before November 8 when we have an election to win??? Wasn’t he suppose to campaign for HRC and bring the entire Beniepool over? I know that most have crossed the pond but some hardcores are still preaching a different gospel out there.
Speaking of gospel, where is Nina Turner? Has she left the country?
I think it was on this morning’s Early Bird thread that someone (sorry, don’t remember who, and I need to catch the last daylight here for my garden) posted tweet from @algiordano which explains what is going on (don’t look to MSM, they’re worthless).
Check out his Twitter timeline for more…
"they had joined the group with a promise from Sanders that Weaver would not be involved."https://t.co/rEYHMFydoJ
Thanks Arapaho. It all makes sense. Why did the Senator from Vermont not follow through with his promise, then? This is mismanagement from his part, particular at the eve of launching the Great Revolution.
I saw tonight that the Our Revolution group was supposed to band together, across the country, to raise funds for the down-ticket Democrats. Don’t know much other than that.
Haven’t seen Nina in a week or so – hopefully, she’s taking a rest and re-grouping. She’s somebody we need on the Democratic team.
She seemed like she was a bit better last time I saw her on TV, so I had a little hope (after she’d turned down Jill Stein’s offer to be her VP running mate). Otherwise, I agree.
I’m sensing a grift a la Sarah Palin, who also formed a PAC to help down ticket candidates.. Seems she never gave more than $5-10k/year total to candidates. Rest of the money went to fund her family and friends who were all “on staff” and to fly the family to Arizona for the winter, run around in that bus for a few months collecting more donations to the PAC, etc.
Exactly my question NCLB! Why would Bernie launch anything now before November 8? Bernie is just like the rest of them, tasted power and now is drunk with it and wants more! And his wife has gotten used to the limelight and free high flying life style from the young people’s donations.
that is one of the reasons I did not re-tweet the tweets I saw that included his email (and that of his fellow gop senator) – yes even if those messages included photos and support for PBO and the LA governor
How times have changed – didn’t Vitter attack Christie for cavorting with the enemy. Now they have Trump as their leader they are so happy to support the President – thinking it will help them get elected.
Know that few will see this, but have to get this off of my chest.
DJT’s slogan, Make America Great Again, is of course offensive to those who look to the future and know that what DJT supporters want is to live where white people make all the rules.
But I have to say that I am appalled at how Americans behave in public now. I prefer civility and decency, but I see more evidence of jackass behavior being acceptable in public.
Not gonna post here, but check out @jenniferjjacobs’ twitter timeline for her reporting on DJT in Austin tonight. Absolutely appalling behavior.
Compare to the era that DJT supporters want to take us back to:
Congrats! You're the 1,000,000th visitor to the White House – thus Edythe Sprayberry & family met JFK. This Day/1961 pic.twitter.com/0GGffHgwjX
I know this a white family, but back then, people actually cared about their appearance — this family’s clothing reminded me of this iconic (in a shameful way) photo:
Elizabeth Eckford ignores the screams of students on her first day integrated into a Little Rock High School, 1957. pic.twitter.com/CfQDnPRXNb
The behavior in 1957 is echoed now in 2016, but more in a more vulgar and crude way, and people do seem to try and outdo themselves as to who can look as much like a slob as possible.
That is really a depressing thought, but when whites actually become the minority (soon) and our media (finally) shifts to recognize that reality, then their rude and offensive behavior hopefully will be shamed and shunned.
As you know, Arapaho, the trick with younger voters is turning their support into votes. They often seem to think that just feeling support is enough and you literally have to drag them to a polling place on election day.

Mrs. Clinton is up by around seven percentage points in polling averages. But historically, a seven-point victory for the president’s party in the national popular vote is not the way to start a wave election. Richard Nixon’s huge victory in 1972 didn’t give Republicans the House. Neither Ronald Reagan nor George H.W. Bush took the House in 1984 or 1988. Bill Clinton didn’t retake the House in 1996.
The president’s party had down-ballot success in those elections, but gains were generally modest.
A Hillary Clinton landslide, though, might be likelier to result in a big shift in the House than in the past. That’s because the relationship between presidential and down-ballot vote choice has tightened. In 2012, President Obama’s share of the vote tracked very closely with the result of contested House races, albeit with Democratic and Republican incumbents tending to do a bit better. This is a long-term trend.
This is only a very small piece of the puzzle, but it’s an important one. There is less ticket-splitting than there used to be, so where a presidential candidate wins, members of their own party tend to win, too. More so than in the past, anyway.
The Associated Press has just shown us why it is important to be vigilant in how we consume the news as it is reported. They took some interesting information they gathered and spun it into something it wasn’t…scandalous. Here is their lead-in introduction:
More than half the people outside the government who met with Hillary Clinton while she was secretary of state gave money – either personally or through companies or groups – to the Clinton Foundation. It’s an extraordinary proportion indicating her possible ethics challenges if elected president.
Here is where it gets interesting. If you include the non-battleground blue states that Democrats have historically won with wins in that first four (where Clinton has big leads), she’s already at 272 electoral votes. Did you see what we did there? Clinton could lose Ohio, Florida, North Carolina and Nevada and still win. That is how overwhelming the Democratic majority is in the electoral college right now. The much-ballyhooed battlegrounds are gravy and – at least in the era of Trump – Democrats are starting to play on Republican turf (Georgia and Arizona). Beyond that, states like Texas and South Carolina are trending towards being battlegrounds.
Certainly some of this is related to a distaste for Donald Trump. But it is also the beginning of a big shift in how demographics will change the electoral map. The new battlegrounds are states where we also see significant increases in the number of people of color. Trump’s insistence on a strategy of ramping up the white vote combined with Clinton’s excellent work with people of color is accelerating a shift in battlegrounds that was already underway.
Greetings, TS. I’ve only seen pictures myself. Then again I wouldn’t have wanted to get too close as I have no actual affinity for bridges, or large expanses of water. /whispering softly – I can say that now because I don’t think Amk is near to call me a coward./
90% of Australians live near the coast – and we have a warm climat – you learn to swim real early in life.
I love water – living near it (but not too near due to floods, climate change) is a delight. Growing up I could look out the bedroom window & see the Pacific Ocean.
😀 I love water too – as long as I am not expected to cross over (in any way) large ‘portions’ of it. Not to mention that in my climate when you live too close to lots of water you have to contend with ‘lake effect’ snow.
Ooooh, thank you, dear! We’ve been having lots of gorgeous fog lately. Keeps things very cool. I’ll be headed that way this morning to get a good dose of the mountains, bay, bridge, sky. Super healing.
This man amazes me every single day – his kindness, thoughtfulness, respect for others — need I go on.
What an exemplary President we have! Congrats, Jackie!
Donald Trump zooms in for a staged (and meaningless) photo op. Our President comforts, connects and inspires. Thank you, POTUS.
This is truly messed up. Right from the start, something has always stunk about Wikileaks and this grants more credence to that theory.

The Associated Press has just shown us why it is important to be vigilant in how we consume the news as it is reported. They took some interesting information they gathered and spun it into something it wasn’t…scandalous. Here is their lead-in introduction:
A Shift in Battlegrounds

…………………….
Thanks for these insightful stories…
This pic made me think of Meta – because I know she can see it ‘from home’. 😀
Have an enjoyable Wednesday, Meta!
Was our favorite place in the US so many years ago vc. Saw the fog many times
We don’t do snow and ice – not ever, not at all. In the world with Ms Chips in charge, I would be in trouble
You and I will talk Leader Chips into a compromise – not too hot, not too snowy/icy. 🙂
Nope – she told me it was going to be cold and colder – the lady does not understand compromise (mmmm – thats a gop meme) 🙂
Ooooh, thank you, dear! We’ve been having lots of gorgeous fog lately. Keeps things very cool. I’ll be headed that way this morning to get a good dose of the mountains, bay, bridge, sky. Super healing.
Have a great day, vc!
New post.
