Got to think positively, and that she is a roll model, not only for all the young girls of our country and the women of color, but for all future First Ladies that will inhabit not only our White House, but also all capital buildings around the world. I’m thinking right now of Sophie Trudeau, Catherine Middleton, and a few others our POTUS has visited during his time in office. Grace, beauty, intelligence, kind heartedness, curiosity, and more exists in all these women.

You wouldn’t think that a black gay man living in heavily Democratic Philadelphia would be a big Donald Trump supporter.
So, imagine my surprise when over lunch recently, Saleem Khalil Vanderpump – who belongs to all of those groups – told me he had every intention of voting Republican this fall.
I don’t understand…This statement seems contradictory, amk. Correct me if I’m wrong!
But that aside, from time immemorial, there have always been a handful of blacks and other minority voters who vote stupidly against their interests – but they are not responsible for Republicans being elected. It’s the white majority who send these people to office. Let’s not forget that.
One black gay guy living in Philly (which is already Clinton territory, election-wise) voting for Trump is not the threat here. It’s the swaths of rural and surburban (and urban) and mostly white voters who on an emotional level resonate with Trump’s bigotry/Xenophobia/Misogyny and will cast their vote accordingly…
To take it further…all this dialogue about who and what and why about Trump is for those white voters who want to feel ok about casting their vote for Trump…
EXACTLY – they’re trying to divert attention away from the true source of the problem and the REAL threat, by focusing on a handful of blacks who may vote differently than expected. In any election you will always find a few Black people (gay people, Latinos, etc) voting for an unlikely candidate. But these voters do not impact the outcome of the election, let alone in a solidly blue district like Philly. This year is nothing new. 1% of Blacks who support Trump will not change the outcome of the election.
Think I’d go with “satisfied” AMK rather than happy. Another reveal who he is. Remember Michelle’s and Axelrod’s (?) statements about a campaign and presidency reveal who you are.
Another great reveal about the great negotiator. I haven’t gone back and checked the docs but saw somewhere this morning that Trump paid his lawyers nearly 6X the amount that the Clinton campaign paid for the month of July. And the Clinton campaign had far more staffers and offices so you’d think their legal expenses would be much higher for lease negotiations, contracts, etc. He sure knows how to negotiate!
why do I get the feeling that a number of people in the GOP and rightwing media, who have been key propagators of hate, are more likely to end up doing hard time in prison;

I’m enjoying the Obamas, but I have to say that I don’t think the tenure of “presidents” like Dick Cheney,Nixon and St. Ronnie and others were particularly “good” in the WH. Regardless, I doubt that Trump and his Stepford wife will see the oval office any time soon!

So I read that Rob Portman is pretending that DT doesn’t exist and his numbers in Ohio are improving….who’s running against him? They better tie that anchor around his neck (DT) and make him own it!! Why wouldn’t you link Portman to DT? Come on, Ohio Dems…get with it!
Strickland is sinking in the polls. Don’t have any idea what kind of campaign he’s running but it’s weak. Anyone here live in that territory who can explain Portman’s popularity?
He’s not popular. The problem is the immense amount of outside money that has been spent on negative ads for weeks now……not just a couple of weeks but weeks. There have only been a few Strickland ads…..obviously the Democratic powers that be have not yet
been willing to put money into that race. It’s been very sad.
The great reward of working hard for Hillary Clinton in the next few months is not only that we’ll get a fine, well-qualified president, but we will be able to wake up every day without hearing about, reading, or seeing an image of Donald Trump. If that isn’t an incentive to give it our all, I don’t know what it. Starting the day with Trump’s words or images is like showering in poisoned water each morning. It stinks and it leaves you feeling unclean!
