I heard that Trump is planning a visit to LA now. Probably to say he cares and was there before Obama or Clinton. Like Gov Edwards says he is going to get a photo op. Wish the press would get it right.
While on the one hand I get nauseous every time I see a Trump sign in someone’s yard or on their vehicle, on the other I am glad to see the labels. I know exactly what I am dealing with from the get-go and I am not intimidated. This sign and the deceased person and ideas it represents are merely the pus-filled boil that will be lanced come November.
Saw a Trump bumper sticker the other day and thought to myself, “Why do you need to advertise you’re an a**hole and will cut off the next person on the road?”
Of course it was on one of those incredibly noisy pick up trucks that Detroit seems to be churning out in record numbers. I long for the days when not every. single. pick up. truck on the road was decibels over what doesn’t shatter your eardrums.
American women are kicking ass in this Olympics just like they did in London (brought home 60% of the total hardware in 2012). Boxing, wrestling, water polo (the goalee is an A-A woman), swimming, rowing, track and field, gymnastics and more. 292 women came to play and to win. Hope this will show other nations that you cannot leave half of your people off the playing fields of life. Beyond sports parity, however, girls and women do/can/will get the job done. I think that the 21st century is on the brink of being the Century of the Woman world-wide. I love my guys, but there have been major F ups all over the world (especially here) in the almost first 2 decades of the century, and it is time for the women to take over and get this mess straightened out.
I often think of the Kurdish women who have taken up arms to protect their people and to fight for their futures. Those recent photos of the liberated women who tore off and burned the concealing robes that had been foisted upon them and of the female soldier who carried the child in one arm and an automatic rifle over the other. I am overwhelmed by what all of this represents.

I think the Clinton Global Initiative is WJC’s legacy to the world, and was established to continue well beyond his lifetime. Like the Hoover Institute or the Woodrow Wilson foundation, think tanks/educational endowments that employee political types when the other party is in power and doing all the hiring.
