What I find impressive is that for such a tiny, tiny nation, the limeys are second in the medals list.

      GM amk.

It’s not just the inexperienced journalists covering Trump — it’s how US broadcast MSM treat our election of our next President.

It’s a horserace and ratings game to them now, and broadcast MSM don’t consider “informing voters” as part of their job description.

    GE TODville.

@VP’s trip to Kosovo will be something else, I’ll bet (and also happen when I’m sound asleep no doubt) — Google tells me it’s 5:20 am there now (Tuesday, August 16).

Kosovo absolutely LOVES the US — it was the ONLY country in the world that welcomed GWBush with open arms and lavished warm attention on him during his abhorrent 2nd term.

Hope TODville will find some good coverage of Joe and Jill Biden’s trip there now. Will be so bittersweet for this loving couple whom we all admire so much.

Good evening TOD! Have spent the last couple of days with the Olympics. Such a nice break from politics. That said, something caught my eye tonight that I find very troubling.

If any of you saw Comey’s testimony about the Clinton emails and server, the Committee asked him about whether Clinton perjured herself in her Congressional testimony. Comey said they had not looked for that. So apparently Gowdy’s Committee sent a request to the FBI specifically asking the FBI to charge her with perjury.

Is there anyone here who is familiar with the jurisdiction of the FBI in these types of things, and any limitations on what the FBI can be requested to do? It just strikes me as so very WRONG to be using the FBI as the investigative arm of the Republicans in Congress to take down a political candidate. I don’t ever recall anything like this in the past. While a special prosecutor was appointed to investigate Bill Clinton, this is Congress using the freaking FBI for political purposes in an ongoing campaign. The precedent this sets simply is terrible. Just strikes me as a flagrant abuse of Congressional power by the Republicans. While they have a long history of doing this with their own hearings, to drag the FBI into this seems to be a new low.

I’m still in a Kosovo frame of mind, so I did a Twitter search and found these:

    From the article:
”If it hadn’t been for the help of America, all Albanians would have been expelled, no one would be left here,’ 54-year-old Naser Sojeva said in the village of Sojeve, where Biden and his wife Jill will on Wednesday take part in a ceremony to dedicate the road to Beau.

‘If I see Biden on Wednesday, I will tell him: ‘Thank you for what you have done for us,’ said Sojeva, who worked for 12 years as a civil contractor at a U.S. military base and rents out a shop to a local businessman selling souvenirs and U.S. flags. ‘We owe them so much.'”

    From the article:
Kosovo Greets Biden With Warmth, Affection
US Vice President Joseph Biden touched down in Kosovo Thursday, to a rapturous welcome from a people grateful for US support in their struggle for independence.

“Large billboards saying ‘Welcome Vice President and Thank you’ lined Pristina’s streets in anticipation of his arrival. US flags, along with the new Kosovo flag, lined the road from Pristina’s airport to the capital.

”We are happy for US support toward Kosovo as a state. I say it from the bottom of heart: God Bless America,’ said President Fatmir Sejdiu, after a meeting with Biden.

The visit ”is a powerful confirmation of US support to Kosovo,’ said Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, adding: ‘Mr Biden Kosovo is proud of you.”’

With this new poll by the Washington Post, the last three polls of Virginia have shown the presidential race as +12 (CBS poll), +13 (NBC/Marist) and now +14 points for Clinton-Kaine over Trump-Pence. Here are some highlights from the new poll, hot off the presses.

“Clinton leads Trump by a 14-point margin — 52 percent to 38 percent — among registered voters in the state and by an eight-point margin among likely voters, 51 percent to 43 percent.” (Note: we learned from the Gallup polling debacle of 2012 to stick with registered voters, not likely voters, at this point in the race…)

In a four-way race, Clinton-Kaine’s lead is 11 points, but I’d expect support for the third-party candidates to fall off a bit, and in the end not to make much difference in the margin of victory for Clinton-Kaine.

“Aside from the rural southwestern part of the state, Clinton’s lead spans all regions, most by a wide margin.” (That includes 68%-23% in the densely-populated DC suburbs, 60%-29% in Tidewater, and 54%-37% in the Richmond area, to complete the “urban-suburban crescent” victory strategy for Virginia statewide Dems. In rural Southwestern Virginia – where they need things like affordable/quality health care, things that Republicans WILL NOT give them – it’s 58%-32% Trump-Pence. Sigh…)
