Yeah, I was viewing the DNC stream and could not understand a word the protesters were saying. LOL If I hadn’t seen a list of the counter chants on Al Giordano’s twitter stream, I would not even know there was a protest.
MY daughter and i talked about how profound it was for her mention…the travesty of Systemic Racism….no presidential candidate has ever uttered those words….systemic racism and criminal justice reform….
it has to be acknowledged before it can be eradicated…
We are truly living in” the best of times and the worst of times.”
Hillary came through and now it begins in earnest. God help us all.
Good night, TOD.
In my lifetime: A Black man is a successful twice elected president of the United States and a woman, with a good chance to win, is the Democratic nominee for the office. This is earth-shattering.
i’ve tried to stop the clintons for decades. now, i’m trusting the obamas’ endorsements, this perfectly run convention, and the clintons own words and actions in this campaign so far, and i can get behind hillary’s campaign now. that’s the whole point of conventions, and for me with this one it worked.
as a small business owner, the line that had most impact on me since i’ve never heard one like it before, was about the stress of waiting in a bank parking lot to hear if you got the loan. been there, done that! multiple times. hillary’s full embrace of the obamas, and vice versa, is the only clue on what i need to do the rest of this year in terms of politics. mission accomplished with this convention.
Hey Nerdy, you provided proof that the HRC campaign staff reads TOD. Just last night I posted a comment asking why don’t any of the Democratic candidates say what PBO is always saying when the audience boos, and that is “Don’t boo, Vote!” And tonight there it is in HIllary’s speech. First time I’ve ever heard her say it.
The Black Man paved the way for the Woman, Democrats both, move over republicans, move out of town, be still, better yet do something for the people and not your sugar daddies.
And Nerdy Wonderful has spoken. I feel as though you were part of the “DNC” (Don’t Need Cable) all week, sugar! You were the Blogger in Chief to all of us, and we thank you so very much!
I have been on board the Barack Obama train since the 2004 Dem Convention speech. As I watched the best President of my lifetime in action, I became a proud, “ride or die” Obamabot. If my 2008 self, or even my before-Joe-said-he -woudn’t-run self, could have seen me tonight, completely fan-girling over Hillary Clinton, she wouldn’t have believed it.
I knew I would be happy about the first woman nominee for president, but I had no idea how overcome with emotion I would be. I completely lost it, in an unexpected way. The little girl who was bullied and preyed upon, the young woman who was harrassed and patronized, the adult woman who too many times had to silently roll her eyes, bite her tongue and take a deep breath. For all of the times I’ve tamed myself, quieted myself and stopped myself from shining too brightly; for all of the times I’ve walked from point A to point B with my keys strategically positioned between my fingers, for all of my sisters who have endured the same or worse, I cried like a baby and raised my fists into the air.
Damn, over Hillary Clinton! 😄
But, I’m still happy we have almost six more glorious PBO months left 😌
Her biography was woven beautifully into the speech and it allowed a window into the person of Hillary Clinton and what motivates her. Beautifully crafted and delivered speech. Brought tears for me also. It was touching for me how the trauma and suffering of her mother’s early life translated into Hillary’s work for children and her desire to be a champion for the marginalized.
These clueless P.O.S. BernieorBust mfu**ers piss me off to no end….I have more hate for them than when my favorite sports teams lose to their arch-rivals. I don’t like this feeling….
well, all these nutz still couldn’t stop a great dem convention. dnc better wake the fuck up and start vetting their own candies and delegates better in future.
He didn’t want to. You saw BS couldn’t even smile when the camera panned to him the last three days when speaker after speaker went out of their way to praise him during their prime time speeches. These fuckers were not Democrats to begin with….just like *former* Socialist Bernie.
What a magnificent convention! Thank you, NW for your wonderful coverage and many tweets. It was a pleasure to cover the convention with rest you here on TOD.
Probably the only thing that has subsided my internal anger at Bernie dead-enders was this story about political reporters getting worked over by Philly natives. Dumbshit reporters forgot that Philly fans don’t hesitate to throw batteries at their professional teams’ players if they screw up!
They were all looking for a negative – what I heard in about 30 seconds
– If she isn’t up by 10 next week, Trump will win
– Speech should have been about her – talked too much about Trump (and I can imagine what they would have said if she didn’t mention Trump)
– Not as good as the President’s speech
Excellent, inclusive convention for the DNC despite occasional attempts to sabotage it from people who should be out protesting TRUMP rallies, not our candidates. Now we do the hard work of getting people registered, convinced to vote for Democrats, and to the polls to cast that vote.
Good evening TOD! What a night. Hillary had the best speech of her career. But I do think she could possibly use a slightly different approach to speech writing. From what I’ve read, she does it by committee which involves up to 8 people. I suspect if she had one or two writers who knew “her voice” they might come out better. I simply do not think her delivery is bad, she is not Barack or Michelle, but she is not a bad speaker. I simply think her speeches try to cover too much which is where the committee approach is obvious.
In any event, wasn’t she wearing white tonight in honor of the suffragettes? That is what I assumed.
She did a masterful job of eviscerating Trump, and I suspect he will go off on another tirade in the next couple of days. A couple of those lines were keepers and should be rolled out again and again. The man’s ego simply cannot take it, particularly from a woman. I saw somewhere that he wanted to “hit him (Bloomberg) so hard it would make his head spin” after his speech last night. Funny. This at a rally today in IA.
Overall, I thought the convention was nothing short of masterful. There were clear themes each day, with a nice building of tempo throughout the evening. It could not have gone much better. I feel a little bad for DWS, she must have put a ton into this. But it had to be done so c’est la vie.
It will be very interesting to see how things play out. I believe she is going to win this election, she has lost before and will not let this one slip away from her. But the really interesting thing will be to see the states, the margins, etc. Split ticket voting has been on the decline and I suspect she is going to attract a ton of indies and moderate Rs. The election really is being reshaped (thanks to PBO) as democracy versus DT. No longer about Hillary specifically. This theme MUST be kept up over the coming months.
But I also know she will lose some of the women. Sadly, it is never just some men who are threatened by powerful, accomplished women but a certain segment of women who find it equally threatening. They will flock to Trump.
Thanks to Nerdy and everyone here for this incredible coverage. It has been quite the week!
Well, I must admit I am no longer voting for Hillary as the lesser of two evils or just to stop Trump. Having watched both conventions all the way through I am thoroughly convinced Hillary will do a good job with that baton PBO has passed onto her. She is ready now. The personal stories helped convince me. She is experienced, caring, a listener and a person that knows how to get things done. I am ready to be a real supporter, maybe not quite as fervently as with PBO, but close. Great convention. I do not think there could have been anything done better. Berniebots annoyed me, but strong arming them would have made us no better than the GOP tactics.
Pulled out this gem from the 2012 election. The message STILL holds true, perhaps even more so this time around. Still have the t-shirt, will be wearing it over the next 100 days as I do my little part to get out the vote for #DEMS2016.
Good Lord – MJ is lauding the Democratic Convention – one guy – whose name I do not know – looking a little bitter about everyone loving the democrats & Hillary.
TY, Nerdy! Let’s do this!!
😀
Yup. Let’s own that @POTUS forever.
Yup.
It sure did. The real Trump is out there. I am sure there is more that we do not know in those taxes.
Couldn’t resist 🙂
Take care TOD … {{{{{Chips}}}}} … bb tomorrow ….
Good night TOD family.
Hillary’s speech was great! And 1.85 million streamed it on tube.com!!
Wow!!! also, the Bernie or bust crowd need to realize that they are outnumbered.
All of these viewers as well as those who watched via C-span, know what a sewer the other media is and rightly avoided them.
It was also showing on the major cable news channels and many local channels, as well. Lots of people saw it. Yay!
Yeah, I was viewing the DNC stream and could not understand a word the protesters were saying. LOL If I hadn’t seen a list of the counter chants on Al Giordano’s twitter stream, I would not even know there was a protest.
He is going to have to do a lot better than this. A whole lot of his dirty laundry is out there. 🙂
Let’s see your taxes, dipshit.
Loved that speech and she delivered it beautifully.
MY daughter and i talked about how profound it was for her mention…the travesty of Systemic Racism….no presidential candidate has ever uttered those words….systemic racism and criminal justice reform….

Night all…insecure men everywhere having meltdowns (see above) I need some rest. Tomorrow we begin again.
Night DF!

Hillary came through and now it begins in earnest. God help us all.
Good night, TOD.
Boom.
Even 70% would do.
In my lifetime: A Black man is a successful twice elected president of the United States and a woman, with a good chance to win, is the Democratic nominee for the office. This is earth-shattering.
It’s pretty amazing.
I thought Chelsea did great too!
She was very effective Dudette.
cute.
love this!!!!
How sweet is that! (Brought back memories of writing a letter in a journal I kept for my son during his first year, that man had landed on the moon!)

I trust PBO on every single aspect of running this country, and if he says HRC is good, then that’s good enough for me! 🙂
Nerdy, thesse Tweets! You’re hurting me! Gonna have a six pack tomorrow from the ab workout!
Ambien called… 😂😂😂😂😂😹😹😹😹😹

wingnutz freaking out over fucking flagpin.
mission accomplished.
I hope they are gone – was all a con to attack PBO.

Bravo Nerdy! Thank you so much for the outstanding coverage all week!
TOD! TOD! ❤

Hugs to you, dear Madame Soph! Six more months and then we get to see what he does next!
Beautifully said! I felt the same.
Madame Soph, you truly speak for me. You have told the story of women in America. Thank you!

Democrats: Love trumps hate.
Republicans: Love Trump’s hate.
What a difference an apostrophe makes.
Excellent!
These clueless P.O.S. BernieorBust mfu**ers piss me off to no end….I have more hate for them than when my favorite sports teams lose to their arch-rivals. I don’t like this feeling….
Morons gonna be morans. Pity bs didn’t vet his ‘delegates’ properly.
Reading this made my head hurt.
well, all these nutz still couldn’t stop a great dem convention. dnc better wake the fuck up and start vetting their own candies and delegates better in future.

Does Bernie even know how to smile?
They’re too busy talking and basking in the applause, to actually do something or get something one.
Ugh! 🙄
That’s a parent speaking to a 5 year-old.
❤
What a magnificent convention! Thank you, NW for your wonderful coverage and many tweets. It was a pleasure to cover the convention with rest you here on TOD.
Thank you, Bill.
It was a fantastic convention.
rethugs: let’s make obama a one-term president.
dems: let’s make it a third term.
Haha..and the Dems appear to be winning so far! 🙂
Probably the only thing that has subsided my internal anger at Bernie dead-enders was this story about political reporters getting worked over by Philly natives. Dumbshit reporters forgot that Philly fans don’t hesitate to throw batteries at their professional teams’ players if they screw up!
Reactions to Clinton speech CNN: Very positive 71% Somewhat 15% Negative 12%
Affect your vote: More Likely 60% Less 6% No Effect 33%
Clinton’s policies will move country in the: Right direction: 82% Wrong 16%
LOL.

Prominent GOP pollster
Gotta say…the despair & reactions coming through Twitter TLs that the RWNJ are having is an extremely nice palate to end the night on.
TY Nerdy for you tireless work……
I’m emotionally exhausted having been pulled in so many directions this week. History was once again made tonight….GN my beautiful TOD family 🙂
effing indians.

I love Morgan Freeman, he is a wizard with his voice. It is the voice of AUTHORITY.
He could read Dr. Seuss and make it sound like Hemingway.
Anybody shocked? Anyone?
Proving the truth of what was said – he walks right into it.

Whoa! Yeh, he’s right.
