“Politics isn’t all about policy and rhetoric. It’s also about the person — their family life, their hobbies, and how they can connect with their voter base on a human level. Which is why voters should probably check out the videos of Tim Kaine playing the harmonica. Yes, that’s right, America. The presumptive Democrat nominee for vice president plays the harmonica. Often. And in public. The Virginia senator has a lot of personality. Many have called Kaine “boring,” but anyone who jams on a harmonica, it seems to me at least, has a little something in him…..”He carries multiple harmonicas in his briefcase. He has played with members of the Dave Matthews Band and the Grateful Dead. And he has been known to show up unannounced at bluegrass jamborees around his home state, Virginia, simply looking to jam. His time in Virginia has left him steeped in the history of bluegrass and old-time music. Hopping up and down the 330-mile Crooked Road that winds through the heart of bluegrass country in Virginia, he has memorized dozens of standards like ā€œWill the Circle Be Unbrokenā€ and ā€œMan of Constant Sorrow,ā€ along with newer songs like ā€œWagon Wheel.ā€…ā€œHe’s comfortable on stage,ā€ said Woody Crenshaw, the former owner of the Floyd Country Store, about an hour’s drive southwest of Roanoke, Va., where Mr. Kaine has performed numerous times. ā€œHe has a feel for the old-time music of these mountains.ā€ Mr. Kaine first picked up the harmonica around seventh grade, inspired by a friend a year older who had been bringing his harmonica around and belting out some melody lines. ā€œSo one summer I made it my goal that I was going to learn to play the harmonicaā€…..

The current Gov. of California is the Supt. of Public Instruction, Tom Torlakson…….. CA TOD, you have a weird constitution!!!!

“Few would doubt that, in the event of a major emergency in California over the next few days, Gov. Jerry Brown would be fully engaged and directing state personnel even as he sits thousands of miles away at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. There’s just one problem with that scenario: Brown, under the provisions of the California Constitution, won’t be the actual governor until he ventures back across state lines. ā€œDon’t worry, you’re in safe hands,ā€ said Supt. of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson, who on Monday night became California’s acting governor. Since its first constitution was drafted in 1849, California law has dictated that a governor must be within the state borders to have the powers of the office.

  21. July 27, 2016 at 7:45 pm

ā€œBeing able to play music is a gift, but learning to play an instrument is morass of frustration—especially teaching yourself the guitar. Hands have to be bent in uncomfortable positions, uncalloused fingers get sore, and it becomes clear that human extremities innately possess the coordination of a newborn deer that’s been grazing in a field of ketamine. Sucks to suck, and learning is for chumps….

…Rather than quit outright (like so many of us), YouTuber WayOutWest built a big goofy contraption that fingers whole chords on a guitar at the push of a button. He calls it the Chordelia: http://www.chordelia.com/store/c1/Featured_Products.html The wooden housing clamps to the neck of his Yamaha, and each of the chord paddles triggers levers that do all the work. It looks absurd, but astonishingly it works. While it won’t help you shred Judas Priest riffs or strum a G7sus4 in your jazz trio, the Chordelia is able to produce five chords—G, D, C, A minor, and E minor, which is really all that’s needed to play 90% of pop music.ā€

He was governor when I was a young teen. Jerry Brown is true blue Californian, He loves it, he has truly done right (as did his dad) by California. I loved him as gov when I was a kid. I’m so proud of how he’s turned it around again after repubs ran it into the ground.

Yes, earlier they did speak about the need to elect more dems to congress.. but not enough is being said here about that… but then it’s about electing Hillary, I suppose. I really hope all that POTUS has done and tried to do in the face of blocking by repubs.. W/O Congress I don’t see Hillary doing all this either.

It’s a contingent but I can’t comprehend what on earth they are saying. I am beginning to find these chants very disrespectful, to the point that Tim Kaine is silent and will not speak to avoid a spectacle.

I blame Bernie Sanders for this continued nonsense and his f*** revolution. The idea or revolution supports the behavior we witness at the DNC. WTF? Who needed a revolution? We need change but not a revolution when there are so many crazy people roaming the streets and so many weapons in circulation.
