      I know Bernie could have done a better job along the way. I too have been critical, but in the end he did what was right. I just wish there were not so many supporters convinced Clinton was bad from his campaign rhetoric.

    I was very angry when I first saw those BS walk out of the convection;

    but on second thoughts, I think it is best that they walked out since they won’t be able to boo other speakers tonight => of course that is hoping they do not return;

    these people where sucking out the oxygen from the room and of course the media was focused on them;

    now others BS who can deal with the reality of the history just made can stay and NOT disrupt;

      Some one needs to talk some sense to Dr. Jill Stein. She can delude herself all she wants, but she will never be elected President from a fringe radical Third, Fourth or Fifth party. It’s a shame she never learned any thing from the failed runs of Ralph Nader, Ross Perot, Cynthia McKinney and others.

    The numbers don’t lie. We know who turns out for the Democratic party year after year.

    • July 26, 2016 at 11:52 pm

      “The base of the Democratic Party is POC-most especially, black people.”

      You are absolutely right NW. From 1960 to the present, the % of African Americans voting for Democratic Presidential nominees has ranged from 80% to 96%.That’s to say JFK, LBJ, Hubert Humphrey, George McGovern, Jimmy Carter, Wlter Mondhale, Michael Dukakis , Bill Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry and Barack Obama- all received between 80% and 96% of the Black vote. Of the five Democratic nominee who were elected President (JFK, LBJ, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama), only LBJ, in 1964,received the majority of the white votes. To put it bluntly, no ther group, in the so called Democratic coalition, has been more loyal to the party than Black folks. It’s so laughable to see some of these white progressives, many of them independents, or recent converts from the Republican Party (Sanders,, Kos, Cenk,, Huffington, etc.), loudly proclaiming that they are the base of the Democratic Party. Actually, it’s the liberal whites, and not the radical progressives, who also qualify as the base of the Democratic Party.

    Thanks NW for fantastic coverage of the convention. It is going exceeding well. The testimonials for HRC are eye opening for me, and perhaps for alot of other people who carry a negative image of HRC from the constant demonization of the Clintons over the last few decades. HRC by a landslide this Nov. Also hope the Dems carry the senate, and increase their house seats if unable to carry that too.

    • July 26, 2016 at 10:06 pm

      Same for me. I am discovering Hillary. My goodness I can’t believe the level of caricature the right wing and their media enablers have created.

        July 26, 2016 at 10:14 pm

        This demonization has been going on since 1992. Many people who should have known better have been influenced negatively. I see it all the time. It’s been a relentless pounding on her…..I think I know why: she was the first woman to challenge them….she did not sit quietly as first lady of either Arkansas or the U.S. The media treated Eleanor Roosevelt the same way.

        I saw Hillary and Bill in 1996 at the university where my husband taught. they are both magnetic in person, and she is graceful and gracious. My husband helped me get to the front of the group so that when they came down the line, maybe I could shake a hand. I tried to get Hillary’s attention, but someone taller grabbed her hand, but she was close. Then he came, and I reached out my red leather gloved hand, and he grabbed it, and looked right in my eyes. I still have that glove.

        He’s now telling how he met Hillary…..neat.

  24. July 26, 2016 at 10:10 pm

    And I’m more understanding of their disappointment in 2008. But she’s even more prepared this year. If she had becomes President in 2008, people would have had less respect for her and would have considered her a co-president with Bill Clinton. She has gained more stature and will be seen for the strong lady that she is.

  25. July 26, 2016 at 10:12 pm

    What a political animal, I have to say. He has his faults and I’m not that fond of him, but you can’t ignore the fact that it’s pretty incredible he is still a force, after the humiliating scandal of the 1990s.

    I will say he is talking all about Hillary. It is good. We have to remember this Convention is about electing Hillary. I do wish there was more about PBO, but this is the time for us to learn and listen. We have to not be like the Bernie bots. This election is so important. I do believe tomorrow night will be about PBO. I know I will be in tears.

      July 26, 2016 at 10:44 pm

      No, it won’t be Marilyn, because our beloved PBO won’t let it be. This is her convention and that is the way he wants it. We have to accept that.

      This is actually the beginning of what comes next, atleast I hope it is her and not Trump. It is now time for her story to be highlighted. We need her to continue what PBO has started. If they spend a lot of time talking about PBO they will have wasted the time we all need for people to see she is not the Hillary that Trump paints her to be. We need people to vote for her. This convention is supposed to be about the Democratic Candidate for President.
      It kind of reminds me of when my kids left home. Even though I knew they had turned out good I really would have preferred they stay to live with me, not move on to their own lives. However, I knew what I wanted could not or should not be. It is the same about our beloved President moving out of the limelight and onto what is next. It hurts, but is necessary and before long you can accept it.

He really lays it in the line imo, in starkly personal and honest story telling. This speech again imo will resonate with alot of voters. Say what you will about BC but he can deliver a speech and tonights is one that i dont think ive ever heard before.

    This evening’s speeches and testimonials were very good at fleshing out Hillary’s biography of service. And Bill did a good job also with his anecdotes and examples. I’m sure most of the public have no idea about Hillary’s accomplishments and the many stories of how individual persons have been helped by her. I loved the finish with Alicia Keys, and those photos of all the male presidents, the exploding glass and the live picture and statement from Hillary was a great touch.

    i’ve been going against the clintons since they entered the national stage, yet voting for them always when forced to, but i was very impressed with bill’s speech tonight. so amazingly coordinated with michelle’s and warren’s last night (the perfect 1-2 punch) that it looked as if he rarely looked at a telepromter and gave his speech from the heart, and that was very impressive. to my dismay, watching the the p.b.s feed, gwen ifill’s only contribution to the immediate commentary was to throw shade on bill for not mentioning monica lewinsky. honest to god. seriously, WTF?!?! go find it if you don’t believe me. gwen ifill is literally dead to me now after tonight. and to think it’s because i’m defensive of the clintons. that’s how far we’ve gone into crazy land in regards to the media. even p.b.s.
