Every First Lady in US history has slept in a White House built by slaves.
Michelle Obama is the only one who has ever acknowledged it.

Hi Miiii-chelle! You done good. 😀 😀
Hi Nerdyw, you’re doing ‘good’ too. TY
It’s official. History made.
It is:)
And we were there. Again.
I LOVE President Obama and Michelle Obama and they will always be @1 in my heart, but I gotta say, as a woman, I am in tears right now.
Should be #1, lol.
History made!
*tears*
High Fives all around for Dems! We made history in 2008 and we made it again today!!!! The thought of a woman president is making me tear up. Never thought to see this in my lifetime.
Me too, NW. The Democratic Party has made history again.
Lovely, Black women continue to save America again and again.
LOVELY AND STRONG BLACK PEOPLE PERIOD HAVE CONTRIBUTED SO MUCH TO AMERICAN HISTORY…WE ARE ALL AMERICANS……………………ALL OF US…………………….WE ARE FIRST..ALL CHILDREN OF GOD……………AND HE DIDN’T CREATE JUNK!
Good Evening. Love my FLOTUS. And, thank you NW
Tears
Ugh, this smug looking fucker.
hehe – I love that the camera moved away from Jane
Look at him, he’s trying to do the math in his head.
Now listening to Vermont. It’s almost over. His ego is showing.
One dream done, one to go.
No, motherfucker, continue the roll call, because I want your defeat to be official.
Can’t believe I’m tearing up. Didn’t expect that!
I’m with you on the tears. They flowed last night, today and I know they will tomorrow night and Thurs.
Bernie put on his big boy pants and gave all to Hillary.
Michelle Obama, had a million dollar speech, and she brought the house down. A professional speech, a tell it like it is speech, a speech with humility, and sincerity, and warmth, and love for our country. I just love you First Lady 🙂 🙂
So Bernie turned it over to Hillary and then bounced. LOLz.
I saw that, an asshole to the end.
He’s just all over the whole thing. It’s back to being a big bad Independent in the Senate, naming Post Offices.
Yep, Post Offices and spittle.
🙌🏾
yep and couldn’t break a smile even.
Love that!
This is beautiful Dudette.
Oh look, its Terry McAuliffe, some money probably has to be delivered somewhere.
Watching him sign all those individual clemency orders to free those people who have paid their dues for their crimes, to vote has made me think differently of him.
Agreed Betsy – he has been a good governor
For all the little girls
It is official that Hillary is the Democratic candidate!!!
And so glad Governor McAuliffe is speaking now. This man deserves a standing ovation for his work right now granting clemency to 200K ex felons in his state to restore their voting rights. So proud of his efforts.
Totally agree about McAuliffe – will never look at him the same way again, and I mean that in a good way.
Me too, J’OB! Elections, and I mean all elections (local, state and national), really do matter.
THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and we won’t forget it! ❤
Well said BWD.
elegantly eviscerated.
Yes, she can, Yes, she did.
I love Nancy Pelosi, but she looks like the humidity in Philly has gotten to her hair! Poor baby!
Congratulations, Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Now, let’s get this Madame President thingy done.
No matter what may have been going on behind the scenes, we looked good before the nation! That’s what counts.
Just think, if Hillary win in November and four years later it will be sixteen years since a white guy was President. And in those sixteen years just think how much this country will become a more perfect union.
and think of the new young leaders that will have grown into their own in those 16 yrs.. we will, hopefully, have a wide range of choices that aren’t just continuously narrowed down to a few white males.
Hi Hillary, congratulations!!!!
How did the roll-call go? Was it unanimous?
Yes. History is made! 🙂
Excellent. ^5.
It was wonderful.
You bet it is, AMK. I didn’t realize how much this would affect me. I’m so glad Hillary kept on going, her head held high, through all the arrows and insults that were aimed at her. She is an amazingly strong woman who is going to march forward into the presidency this November.
No, they don’t, shit is about to get serious.
I know that this is Hillary Clinton’s moment…but there is an elephant in the room that has not been mentioned…and that is President Barack Obama…..
even the slogans that they use are his slogans….When Women Succeeds America Succeeds…
ans it would not be so irritating to me if DEMs had not run away from since he has been in office…and now with the TPP…
Prettyfoot, I feel you, I really really do. And I’m going to leave it at that, for now.
you’re not alone in those thoughts, pf.
Yup they use his slogans, however the Dems aren’t running away from him this election. He’s the final (and likely most anticipated) speaker of the night tomorrow, unlike Dubbya who was no where to be seen in the 2008 RNC convention. And there’s no question in my mind that he will be all over the campaign trail! think the TPP “disagreement” is overstated. The holdout Dems will come around once HRC gets elected.
ty for your comments….hf
It’s okay, because none of US will ever let any of THEM forget the audacity of hope and the grandeur of Barack and Michelle Obama.
Right ON!
As always, you speak TRUTH prettyfoot. I am so glad Hillary finally decided to embrace, instead of running against, President Obama.
I noticed this too and little thanks to President Obama is expressed. Only a few have mentioned President all day; it makes me sad.
A THOUSAND TIMES YES ……
I’m a man and I feel it, let’s be honest Hillary had to eat a lot of shit. Since when does the victor have to be deferential to someone who up until an hour ago was still trying to get nominated.
This is a very big deal, nominating a woman for President. I am 76 years old, and I am thrilled. Growing up, this was not even a possibility…the only woman Senator was Margaret Chase Smith. and she was elected because she took over for her husband. I think it would be hard for any man to follow Barack Obama, and I know it would be nearly impossible for any woman to follow Michelle Obama in the White House. Therefore, I think it is a good thing that a woman will follow our beloved PBO, and that a man will be “first spouse.” He won’t be living in Michelle’s shadow, as any other first lady inevitably would, just like it was a hard job for even Elizabeth Warren to follow Michelle. We shall never see their like again. My 3/4 of a century have been revolutionary and exciting. Proud to be a Democrat, because we look and work for the future…..First president of color, first woman president……how backwards are the Republicans!!!!!
you can feel the President’s hands all over this convention…perhaps it is because so many of his campaign people are in Hillary’s campaign….
He is there & he is with her pf. It’s her moment, PBO would not want it to be anything else. His speech will be epic.
OK, now I am feeling all verklempt. This is so freaking awesome. What a time to be alive.
Yes
Powerful…can’t believe I teared up! So proud to call myself a Democrat.
I cannot believe the tears I am shedding with this video. It is touching something very deep inside of me, and it is beautiful.
And I miss Ann Richards so much. She would be over the moon today.

Well, that brought on the waterworks. Amazing women.
Absolutely gut wrenching.
Stunning, stunning woman: Sybrina Martin. I feel your hurt and devastation.

Sybrina Fulton has so much grace. That always made me humble, whenever I watched her.

Just saw Mothers of the Movement, tears coming down. So powerful. I know what it is to lose a child. To go through that and convert pain into such strength is so moving to me.
