      Bringing over Dudette’s spectacular comment from the previous thread. That says it all, and wish I could fit it on a bumper sticker.

    Just back from a busy and eventful day, kinda tired but checking in. One of my brothers has been with WETA for about 30 years, just sent me a pic of himself with Stephen Colbert)(and a ferret?) from the DNC, where he is working as a press/media resource! I’m pretty proud of him, and said to keep the pics coming! Need tea now, bbl.

      Yeah, MP is here. Hi MP!
      How cool about your brother! The ferret is the dead pet of the character Stephen does to mimic Game of Thrones or one of those popular TV series that I haven’t watched yet. Anyway, so cool about his job. The tales he will be able to tell. And the excitement of being there. 🙂

    The GOP Shut Down a Program That Might Have Prevented Dallas and Baton Rouge

    Trump is blaming Obama for police shootings. But seven years ago Republicans halted a federal study that sought to detect potential radicalization by veterans.
    July 24, 2016

    But what if the acts of terrorism—the killings of police officers—are being perpetrated by veterans?

    As the right-wing outrage machine would have it, the shootings of police in Dallas and Baton Rouge by U.S. military veterans were the fault of President Obama. “How many law enforcement and people have to die because of a lack of leadership in our country?” Trump recently wrote in a Tweet.

    But seven years ago, when a little-known division in the new president’s Department of Homeland Security sought to explore the potential violence of returning veterans—one that might have aided local law enforcement with intelligence in Dallas and Baton Rouge—it was Congressional Republicans who succeeded in pushing to shut the program down.

      so the BS revolutionaries are going to demand that Donna Brazzile step down too because of this?

      why are democrats letting wilileaks set the Dem agenda?

      GE rikyrah.

      WikiLeaks “leak” published by Putin so that #TeaParty “patriots” can discredit MSM, with the intent to help MSM persuade US voters to elect Trump as President.

      MSM and Fox News viewers have latched onto this ridiculous “story,” and MSM headlining to increase their own ratings. #DNC (what average American gives a flying fig?) has joined #Benghazi and HRC #emails as rallying cry for both.

      JoyAnn tweeted this yesterday — don’t know what she said on her program this morning:

  4. 24 globalcitizenlinda
    July 24, 2016 at 6:08 pm

    I predicted earlier (before DWS’ resignation announcement) that giving in to these BS revolutionaries on one thing will just serve as a signal to them that they are 100% and that they will quickly move on and demand more concessions;

    I see now that BS surrogates Nina Turner and Shaun King are quickly doing that => demanding more;

    this will just give the news media more ammunition to ignore the DNC convention message and try and maximize the perceived Dem division propagated by a few loud mouths ;

    the DNC convention is the one time that the networks would have been forced to give time for the Dem message to be heard outside us political junkies before they go back to their regular Cheetos 24/7 programming;

    this drama should not have been allowed to happen NOW; especially when we know the motives of WikiLeaks.

    I am disgusted by playing into the hands of these manipulators;

    I supported Nina Turner as she tried to run for statewide office in my state.

    now I have a deep revelation of the person she is and I doubt if I would put in my effort for her is she makes another run (which I think she will).

    she has become so pompous and unreasonable at the national stage. at home she smiles coyly as she works with that rightwinger kaisch.

    I think her ambitions have blinded her to the fact that in politics – as in life – you don’t burn all the bridges that have slighted you because you need someone to hold out your hand and cushion you if you ever fall from grace or your current elevated position.

    • 25 GGail
      July 24, 2016 at 6:14 pm

        July 24, 2016 at 6:25 pm

        Ok GGail, I will consider it;

        but first I have to take a few moment to calm down and contemplate how to approach her. she has become unbearable yet we had so much hope in her.

        you have to understand that she was a breakthrough to so many of us because she focused on issues that matter to the people;

        her candidacy was a novelty to a state that has never elected a black woman to any state-wide position.

        now most of my friends who worked on her campaign just shake our heads as we look at her public pronouncements and carryings on … it like when a favorite person commits an a shameful act in a public square and you have only one thing to do which is avert your eyes

          July 24, 2016 at 6:32 pm

      GE GLC.

      Sanderbot’s actions are predictable (and juvenile) and they’re getting a lot of what they want — media coverage because Philly isn’t shut down like Cleveland was last week.

      But really, only MSM, Sanders and Trump supporters care — everyone else is tending to their own cares (like hoping it’ll cool down soon #HeatDome).

And I wouldn’t worry about Donna Brazzile. Nobody is going to replace her and she is a tough cookie who won’t take any nonsense from Berniebots.

  6. July 24, 2016 at 6:28 pm

    I don’t get it. I learned about 20 years ago not to say anything in an email that you didn’t want to be publicly known. This is especially true if you work for high profile people. It’s not rocket science!

    • July 24, 2016 at 9:21 pm

      Hello! Learned that lesson back in the 80’s also; in fact, it was a point of contention between my former fiance and me. Our relationship fell into a gray area of the fraternization rules as we were both enlisted when we started dating, however, I got commissioned about a year later. As it was my a$$ that would be on the line, I objected to the online love letters and poetry via the USMC email system. One of many reasons he’s a former…

      Me too! I now know to be careful what I write in emails. They can be forwarded and read by those you do not intend to see it. Also the method of being fast does not allow you to rethink your wording so it is not misunderstood or for you to have second thoughts about sending it. I used to write my emails to my grown kids, then decide to save as a draft to see if I wanted to reword it before sending it. Lots of times I forgot about it. Once when my brother was helping me with a computer problem he asked me, “Do you want to send these drafts?” Before the word no came out of my mouth he hit send. Off went the email to my oldest son I had forgotten about and would not have sent to him. He did not speak to me for three months after getting it. Lesson learned.

  7. July 24, 2016 at 6:37 pm

    From POU:

    I just want to post that there are people that are a little lost as to who is really running the ship behind the scenes with the Democratic Party. As of just this past week the ABC/Washington Post most recent poll the American electorate had PBO at a 56% approval rating. He is currently the most admired man on earth running 8 years and the MOST POWERFUL MAN ON EARTH.

    That being said he basically has hand picked his successors to he and Joe Biden. That would be the HILLARY/KAINE2016 ticket. He is confident his accomplishments and legacy will be placed in good hands.

    President Obama is a Master Politician and the most Pragmatic thinker I have ever witnessed. He thinks 30 years into the future while everyone else on earth is still obsessed about yesterday. Madame President was not selected as SOS by POB on some whim. His goal was to keep her out of the Senate so she could get foreign policy credentials that would eventually help her make a presidential run.

    Tim Kaine was the first big time politician to endorse PBO in 2008 when Kaine was Virginia Governor. He has worked with PBO very closely for all of his Presidency. PBO appointed him as DNC chair as well (oooops). He trusts Tim Kaine with his family and life from the info that I have gathered.

    Our current Dem ticket was structured to keep the CHANGE (REVOLUTION) we started in 2008 moving FORWARD into the next Presidency. Hillary for America has plenty of OFA and Obama campaign operatives working for her campaign today.

    President Obama is pulling all the major strings and directing traffic behind the scenes as we speak in the Democratic party. I CHALLENGE anyone to tell me that this is not the case. We are in good hands folks KEEP HOPE ALIVE!!!

      TY Rikyrah, I needed to read this. Will print it and read it every day from now until 11/8 as I am so angry right now.

      I just read one of the articles from the last thread about the Sanders delegates challenging the VP choice. The guy leading the charge on this issue is from my community, and is somewhat of a friend. I supported him when he ran for office 2 yrs ago. Now I’m thinking thank god he didn’t win. I always thought he was intelligent and politically astute. Now I don’t know what to think. I can’t believe he is leading this group of Berners. I can only hope I will be calm and respectful when I next run into him at the post office, as I do several times each month.

      All I can think is what kind of koolaid did these Berners drink? We had our annual community parade in June and there were 2 floats for Bernie. Both were blasting super loud music and screaming campaign slogans. Granted it was right before the June primary. But the number of people I knew who were marching along waving Bernie signs floored me. I don’t get what anyone has seen in him after the first few months of his campaign, and it has certainly changed my mind about quite a few of the people out here. Hopefully I will calm down soon and this will be the end of my rant. I dare not go into town until I regain my composure. Arghhh!

      I grow weary of people calling PBO a ‘master politician’, even when they mean it as an honor and compliment. PBO/BHO is SO MUCH MORE EVOLVED and conscious than any other pol has EVER been, he is a Leader, a Visionary, an Intuitive and Collective demonstration of the future of humankind. If we are to survive what is coming, more and more people would do well to set aside their tiny personalities and become like PBO. He has always said, what: “It’s Not About Me”. He didn’t just say that to be cute or popular, he said it because for him, it IS Truth.

      a few days ago I heard on NPR of a poll where Cheetos, the bigot, had 0% support among black people in some swing states;

      guess when the results come in November 8th, the phrase of the day will be “the silent ‘minority’ voters”;

      many people of different backgrounds know discrimination when we see or hear it;

      so together with many people of conscience a diverse Obama Coalition, we will deliver the result this nation needs to keep moving forward

Comments like “he has a backbone of steel,” “everyone in Congress loves him,” “she is fearless,” “he is very comfortable in his own skin.” I believe we are going to have 4, if not 8,more years of much of what we have already experienced these last 8 years. It is incredibly sad to see the hatred and bigotry that Trump has unleashed in this country. We all knew that it was always there, just beneath the surface, but now it is everywhere. I am shocked at the things written in comment sections on places like the Washington Post. In the past, the haters limited their comments to the far right sites like Fox and Breibart. Now it is everywhere you turn. It is going to take a very long time to put that genie back in the bottle.

    For the life of me, I cannot recall a presidential candidate who has so damaged our country in so many ways in such a short period of time, from the raging hatred here to the damage to our international partnerships. It is mind boggling.

    BTW, Josh Marshall speculated last night that the reason Trump won’t release his tax returns is not related to lower than expected taxes, income or net worth, but that the returns may well demonstrate just how deeply he is financially involved with Putin’s thugs.
