GM, NW. Thanks for opening the door and for all of the great work that you have done here while Chips is away.

    Congrats on first, Don.

Sigh. Thank you, 99ts, you may have slipped off to Nod, but I really should’ve moved to Tasmania 30 years ago, and stayed put! Will bring updates as they arise! Sweet dreams!

Tasmania a little chilly – nice where I am at the minute – not too cold.

You were such a positive role model when I was moving – so sad it didn’t work out for you. We have a few issues – but truly lovely neighbors so (touch wood) working out well at the minute.

Good to hear, and pleased I was able to offer any modicum of encouragement, I would dearly love to be packing, am quite willing to downsize again (85% last time) just to be in a place I may get a break from the chemical sensitivity overload, and the incessant noise. Challenge is the same everywhere I seek: low availability, affordability questionable, and high demand. Places I can afford are snapped up with in 10 hours! Truly a housing crisis, waitlists for state housing are 2-4, even 10 years long, such as in the beautiful area Judith calls home. It’s all quite baffling, but it’s really about once again not seeing the Boomers coming before we all arrived 60+ years ago! Something will work out, and I have a great and supportive network of kind and loving people around me, so only accession ally dismal! I love the cooler climate, rain, snow, never troubles me, it’s the heat and the lack of moisture I find difficult. Keep those thoughts of Light traveling in my direction, all energy is welcome and appreciated! ❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️

  5. July 18, 2016 at 8:48 am

Good morning, Nerdy Wonka and all of the TOD family. Nerdy, I hope you know just how much we appreciate you keeping the home fires burning. Chips continues in my prayers; I hope she is getting the rest and restoration that she needs. As someone who has cared for several elderly family members, once their earthly journey was through, I just needed time to myself. Hope she will stop by just to say hi in the near future.

Here is a little something that will bring tears of joy and hope…

Morning all. Does any one know which day this week Hillary will make her VP announcement? We’re getting ready for our Democratic presence at our annual country fair and that means staffing each day and night for a week and putting together displays. Working now on getting all Democratic candidate photos together, from president to state and local. Would love to get a photo of the VP choice before the fair opening on Saturday night. It’s only when you start to pull these things together that you really appreciate how many great Democratic candidates are running this year. Hope we have a big sweep to victory at all levels.

Some things are better left unsaid, I know this, but it’s hard not to be anticipating a bloodbath in this ‘convention’ that isn’t really a convention. I keep getting the feeling the national guard may be called out, so once again the taxpayer foots the bill for these fools and buffoons who once were thought to be the GOP. I certainly hope it doesn’t go there, but the potential is immense for madness, anger and unregulated/uncontrollable disaster. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

They won’t fight. They are so desperate to win the hearts of many fools that they will refrain from fighting. They will all pretend that “all is well with The Donald” and that he will “make America great again” with his rhetoric and sketchy rants. They know how to fall in line.

Jer, that statement–“full of falsehoods”–is the story of Trump’s life and should be chiseled on his tombstone. I wonder if he has ever told the truth in his life. He says what suits his purpose at the moment and has not the smallest concern about whether or not it’s a life.

    • July 18, 2016 at 9:49 am

I’m glad he’s speaking out now – better late than never, I suppose – but he doesn’t regret making money off the falsehoods if Trump hadn’t run? That is such a conflicted statement, it nearly undermines his change of heart. But I do hope at some pay attention. ALL the signs are there yet the GOP insist on endangering our nation.

Good morning TOD. To our dear Ms Chips, we miss you, we continue sending love, hugs, and strength. NW thank you for all you do to keep us going.

We have had such beautiful weather this weekend. Today we go backto hot. 90 degrees.

I still have friends who talk about their guns being taken away. Nothing about everyone having many. I am so heartsick from all these deaths. I have had an argument with a friend whose son is a cop. I don’t like arguing with friends. And this joke of a Republican convention coming up. I don’t listen to any news. Get it here.

I hold all here at TOD close. Please take care and stay safe.

    • 77 Don
      July 18, 2016 at 10:59 am

United, your outrage is noted and we know you are appalled and he does not represent you, so um when will he be fired? Its funny how people like this pilot can hold positions with different companies and be so comfortable saying the most outrageous and incendiary things and not worry about the consequences. Somehow this pilot thought that is was okay to say what he said, this can’t be the first time he’s let his views be know, and I refuse to believe that someone at United didn’t know about his views. This guy is a pilot, he’s at the top of the food chain at United and you want us to believe that this views weren’t known.

    • July 18, 2016 at 11:02 am

I think legally they have to mount an internal investigation to document his behavior and give the appearance of due process. I’d be surprised if he wasn’t canned. But who knows these days?

      • 80 FoxfireTX
        July 18, 2016 at 11:25 am

Pilots are unionized so all disciplinary proceedings will be dictated by the contract.

        • 81 Don
          July 18, 2016 at 11:50 am

I’m not surprised, just like police unions, but I think when you threaten the life of someone the contract doesn’t have any provisions in it to absolve you of a threat.

    • 86 GGail
      July 18, 2016 at 11:15 am

And white america wonders why people keep shooting. You can use any excuse you want about too many guns or too easy access to weapons, but the bottom line is – black people are sick and tired of being sick and tired…”Now: Judge finds senior officer charged in Freddie Gray’s death not guilty on ALL 3 counts.”

That makes 3 acquittals & 1 mistrial, in total.

Do you see JUSTICE on the horizon?

      I don’t

      • 87 FoxfireTX
        July 18, 2016 at 11:24 am

GGail, I do think all of these decisions are having an impact. That was the way that the CNN town hall ended the other night, when you continue to have all of these police killings and no accountability, nothing else you do will work. I think even white America is starting to get it. Doesn’t make it right, don’t think I am trying to justify these absurd decisions, but with the videos hearts and minds are changing.

In the meantime, I guess Freddie Grey just somehow broke his own neck and killed himself. Sickening.

I’m old enough to remember John McCain’s 2008 attacks on then Senator Obama revolved around his lack of governing experience, and mocking his celebrity status (think Paris Hilton ad). In only eight years, McCain’s party will nominate a guy with ZERO governing experience, and who is relying on his “celebrity” to get him votes. SMDH

I had forgotten about the Paris Hilton ad, this was after PBO drew what, 200,000 in Germany? What a contrast, although I still blame McCain for setting the country up for a Trump pick in his selection of Sarah Palin. That was the first step in the GOP’s you can still be president even if totally unqualified meme.

I was sickened by this S.O.B lowlife on NPR being interviewed saying “we have to get rid of welfare”. People should not refuse a job just to be able to be home with their children”….this is the “family values” party. When asked about raising the minimum wage can’t do that because that would loose jobs.
