Tweets Of The Day

This was vetted before it was published. This portrayal of black people by the media is not an accident. It is deliberate, manipulative, and disgusting

Some zany stuff that I came across today 🙂

“The latest addition to Astonishing Studio’s line of “sets Lego should really be making” is a miniature Pizza Hut that dispenses personal pan pizzas after you feed it five dollars using a working currency slot. Imagine having pizza on-demand at your desk at all times, suddenly you’ll look forward to going to work. Because it’s made of Lego, it’s easy to bust into the dispenser’s cash box the next time you need five bucks for a pie, and this contraption even dispenses the proper change to match the pizza’s real price….”

“Being able to play music is a gift, but learning to play an instrument is morass of frustration—especially teaching yourself the guitar. Hands have to be bent in uncomfortable positions, uncalloused fingers get sore, and it becomes clear that human extremities innately possess the coordination of a newborn deer that’s been grazing in a field of ketamine. Sucks to suck, and learning is for chumps….

…Rather than quit outright (like so many of us), YouTuber WayOutWest built a big goofy contraption that fingers whole chords on a guitar at the push of a button. He calls it the Chordelia: http://www.chordelia.com/store/c1/Featured_Products.html The wooden housing clamps to the neck of his Yamaha, and each of the chord paddles triggers levers that do all the work. It looks absurd, but astonishingly it works. While it won’t help you shred Judas Priest riffs or strum a G7sus4 in your jazz trio, the Chordelia is able to produce five chords—G, D, C, A minor, and E minor, which is really all that’s needed to play 90% of pop music.”

Donald Trump’s campaign is still soliciting illegal donations from foreign individuals – including members of foreign governments at their official email addresses – weeks after the campaign was put on notice by watchdog groups.

Foreign members of parliament from the United Kingdom and Australia confirmed to The Hill that they received fundraising solicitations from the Trump campaign as recently as July 12 – two weeks after a widely publicized FEC complaint issued on June 29 by non-partisan watchdogs Democracy 21 and the Campaign Legal Center.

These latest campaign finance violations were first reported by the investigative website “WhoWhatWhy” and have been confirmed by The Hill.

The Trump campaign did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

Linda you can tweet the video very easily on your own. (I’m working on the assumption you don’t know how….so here is an easy guide for YouTube videos:

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

        1. Just move your mouse pointer over the YouTube icon in the bottom right corner of the video and click on it (It will open a new tab in your browser where only the video is shown) or you can move your mouse pointer over the title of the video “Barack to the Future: 2016….” and the same new tab will open:

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

        2. Just copy the URL in your browser of the new tab, or click on the *Share* button and you will see the same highlighted URL address

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

      • July 17, 2016 at 12:06 am

From there just open your twitter account and compose new tweet…. write whatever you want and then paste the copied URL at the end:

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Then hit Tweet. Hope that helps….if you still have issues let me know. If you already knew this (I had nothing better to do 🙂 🙂 )

What started as farce continued as farce. Trump emerged without Pence. He spoke, alone, at a podium adorned with Trump’s name, but not Pence’s. And then Trump proceeded to talk about himself for 28 minutes. There is no other way to say this than to say it: it was the single most bizarre, impulsive, narcissistic performance I have ever seen from a major politician.
Every five minutes or so, he seemed to remember, just for a moment, like a man trying and failing to wake from a dream, that he was there to introduce Mike Pence, and so he would say something like, “now back to Mike Pence,” but then he would slip back again, and tell another anecdote about himself.

  9. July 16, 2016 at 7:38 pm

With Secretary Clinton’s choice of Florida as the location for announcing her VP pick I’d be interested in what you folk think. For me it seems to indicate that either Secretary Perez or Secretary Castro will be her pick.

I am sorry to say this, but someone needs to remind the “holier than thou,” professor, doctor, “prophet,” Cornel West that he is irrelevant. His fake “poverty Bus tour,” with his side kick, Tavis Smiley, aimed at undermining President Obama’s re-election, failed miserably. African American voters turned up in record numbers to re-elect President Obama in 2012. I think West is pissed with Hilary Clinton because she decided to embrace President Obama instead of running against him. The “holier than thou” progressives, many of whom supported Ralph Nader in 2000, made tons of money appearing on TV and selling books during the G.W.Bush presidency. I am sure they think they can do the same during the Trump presidency. G.W.Bush was a disaster, but I am absolutely convinced that Trump, if he is elected president, will be a horrific nightmare.

OT- J’OB I love your poetry. I wish you would consider publishing your TOD poems (and any others, of course). They need to be shared widely.

Is there any speculation that Trump was forced to choose Pence by the GOP powers?
I’m finding a hard time seeing a connection between the two.

    • July 16, 2016 at 8:30 pm

My gut feeling is he wanted Christie but his family, in particular Kushner and Ivanka along with Manafort, pressed him to choose Pence.

There is no similarities or affinities or chemistry between them. It’s not going to take. I doubt you’ll seem together much on the campaign trail.

        July 16, 2016 at 8:36 pm

Hi meta, Trump has said that he chose Pence for “party unity”, hmmm.

        • July 16, 2016 at 8:39 pm

Yeah, that’s what his family and campaign manager are thinking. But you watch, Trump is going to turn on him just like he turns on everybody else. Trump doesn’t have a lot of respect for most people. Pence will be publicly humiliated by Trump in some fashion in the not too distant future.

      July 16, 2016 at 8:35 pm

Lots of such speculation around GGail – http://thehill.com/news/campaign/287660-republicans-root-for-pence-as-vp
“On Capitol Hill, Pence is the favorite, even among lawmakers who are skeptical about Trump’s candidacy. ”

I was wondering if Pence has to pay his own airfares when campaigning – Trump sure hasn’t any money to spare & doesn’t seem to want to spend time with him – Pence tweeted he was out buying lunch with wife & daughter.

      GE GGail.

Sorry I’m so late to the party, but @jonfavs has the BEST explanation of Trump’s petulance this morning… he even PREDICTED that Trump wouldn’t appear alongside Pence.

Favreau’s take is a must-read — best to ignore most journos on Trump because they ignore the galloping herd of elephants in the room… that Trump is batsh*t crazy, can’t be trusted to manage anything, is nothing but a con-man who whips white separatists into a cult of worshipping him, etc.

      From Jon’s short essay:

      Mike Pence Is Boring
And why that bothers Donald Trump

“Trump is such an outstanding businessman that he could barely convince someone to take a position that’s a heartbeat away from the most powerful job in the world. So yes, of course the Establishment wanted Pence. The Senate candidates love the pick. Paul Ryan loves the pick. The party elders love the pick. The #SureWhateverTrump crowd loves the pick.

But Donald Trump does not love the pick. Because Donald Trump hates boring. He hates being handled. And he hates being told what to do by establishment types… ”

More on Trump’s petulant VP announcement:

If Turkey’s Erdogan was a smart and generous man who wants to really serve his country equitably, he would use the events of yesterday to listen to his critics and contemplate how he could work with them to improve the welfare of the people.

granted, this would be the unorthodox thing to do but it would be more beneficial for the long-term.

instead, he is already focusing on purging political antagonists at all levels.

which begs the question: next time he calls people to come out on the street to support him, how many will be left and willing to show up?

I fear for the future of Turkey

    many criticize PBO, but they all want to copy him and his successful campaign and presidency (granted without admitting it at all or giving him credit);

case in point: because PBO’s campaign logo was successful and is now instantly recognized around the globe, everyone else thinks theirs will be so to.

I suspect that many of us pause and think about how instantly recognizable PBO’s logo is to this day (and I think for the future).

more than 8 years since he launched his campaign it is more recognized than some of the logos of companies that are publicly traded and worth billions of dollars.

companies would pay unimaginable sums of money to have their logo so globally recognized

Angles & blocked by father – but goodly weird theory

    • July 17, 2016 at 12:38 am

      Howdy, Arapaho!

He is leaning forward so the angle is just an illusion in the mirror where the reflection essentially blocks her even though she is there.

He was universally clowned on in all the local Indianapolis this evening newscasts too! He is despised in Indianapolis more than anywhere in the state. When he was supporting the “religious liberty” anti-LGBT bill, our mayor at the time….Republican Greg Ballard, was adamantly against it. It cost the city 60 million in tax revenue this year from lost conventions/hotel/food ect.. that were all planning to come here and cancelled. (the old Indianapolis Colts football stadium the RCA Dome has become a huge convention host since they built and new football stadium 5 years ago) The NCAA collegiate headquarters is here in Indianapolis too. It wasn’t until Pharma giant Eli Lilly and Angie’s List (who was going to build a new 80 million dollar HQ said they would move) that Pence got the legislature to semi-roll it back.

The funniest thing about the VP debacle is if Trump had backed out of naming Pence, via Tweet Friday (Pence had until 12PM EST to remove his name from the GOP ticket for re-election….he ended up notarizing it at 11:16 a.m. with the SOS office) the Party has 20 days to name his replacement and could have put him back on the ballot….but wouldn’t have!!!!

      • 91 arapaho415
        July 17, 2016 at 12:51 am

        Thanks, LP!

I understand what you’re saying about angles and such, but I still don’t get why the daughter’s image isn’t in the mirror. Not gonna lose sleep over it, though, LOL.

Interesting that Indiana scuttlebutt is that Indiana GOP wouldn’t have put him back on the ballot if Trump reneged on VP offer.

Saw a tweet earlier in the week (don’t remember which day, so much has happened in the world this week 😦 ) that opined that this was a way for Pence to save face from going down to ignominious defeat as Governor in November.

And man, oh man, what a pair they make (re: 60 minutes clip) — predict they won’t set foot on stage together again except when absolutely necessary (i.e., at this week’s #TrumpInfomercial, aka RNC). #RealityTV
