Another morning, another day of fear, hate, racism and the folk laughing all the way to the bank who profit from the incessant slaughter of our fellow citizens …

You can’t ever solve a problem if you don’t focus on its root cause(s). Until the majority of Americans do two things the slaughter has zero chance of abating:

    1 Focus on the WEAPONS PROFITEERS;

2 VOTE for people who commit to regulating who those weapons merchants sell their weapons designed for ONLY one purpose – killing as many people as possible in as brief an interval as technically achievable.

Thank you NW for a new thread …. take care everyone …

G’morning Nerdy & TOD! Congrats Sir Bob on #1. Wishing everyone a peaceful and safe Friday. Condolences to the Dallas officers who were injured, and to the loved ones of those who were killed.

  2. July 8, 2016 at 8:02 am

We still do not know who the suspects are. We still do not know what their motives for shooting were. My guess is that they are looking for additional co-conspirators. But meanwhile, the media continues to be irresponsible and fan the flames….

      Latest update …

      • July 8, 2016 at 8:12 am

Two things are obvious – these folk came prepared to do exactly what they did, and they knew exactly where to be to do it.

And it took more than 24 hours to plan it. The weaponry, ammunitions, the positioning, and the skill of the snipers all indicate that this was not put together as a result of the 2 killings the day before. I hope and pray that there is no rush to judgement and that there is a careful investigation. I lay all of this horror and bloodshed that has plagued us for years at the feet of the various congresses over the years and the gun industry that runs them. I even believe that the aim had little to do with the protest and its reasons, that it was a blind for some other reason and the protest provided the ammunition. In Dallas, more mothers, fathers, children, parents, siblings and friends are added to the horror list of grief and sorrow because of the gun culture of this country. My heart also goes out to PBO who has had to try to bring reason and inspire action with hands tied by the legislative branch that refuses to act, while trying to bring comfort. One man cannot do it all; especially when there are so many others who can pick up the burden and turn it into real action.

I feel so deeply sorry for President Obama having to deliver these messages of condolence and calm every day. I can only imagine what fellow NATO members think of the United States at this point and how much compassion and respect they must have for our president.

Yesterday was a bleak day in all ways possible. I saw the sister that I have known and loved and looked up to all my life slipping slowly away from her identity as it becomes harder and harder for her to remember things. And we came home to the horrific news of the police shootings and all the danger that represents to us from the right wing haters and our incompetent media. This is the time when we have to center ourselves and find the path that will lead us to peace both within ourselves and in our country. Then we have to do everything in our power to bring others along that path with us. It’s seldom that the contrast between light and dark is so stark, but this is one of those times. Our biggest enemy right now is despair and I’m trying hard to overcome it.

So sorry to hear about your sister, I watched the same thing happen with my mother. I cared for her in my own home for a while, until she no longer recognized me. Indeed despair is the enemy and destroyer. Hope must triumph. There’s a reason by our President based his campaign on Hope.

    rrriiight.

  19. July 8, 2016 at 9:34 am

The NRA and gun nuts built this. In most states, the sight of someone with a rifle would be cause to ALERT AUTHORITIES. Not in Texas. Because they can walk in broad daylight with a rifle and nobody could say shyt. The police had to trust on faith that those rifles were not loaded. This is the summer. You just couldn’t have a rifle with you and not be noticed.

Without open carry, the sniper could never have gotten that close to their target. They would have had to hide and set up. By having to do so, the likelihood of someone seeing something and calling 911 goes up. The sniper was literally able to hide in plain sight and get up close to the intended target because of open carry.

An AR-15 is not a snipers rifle.
An M-22 or M-24 are snipers preference on a battle field.
How the hell did they get these weapons?
    That’s impossible!
I would be curious to find out if that’s true about snipers weapons? 🤔

I live in an Urban Area.
    Dallas is an Urban Area.

I see someone with a regular gun, let alone a RIFLE, and I’m calling 911.

How many law abiding citizens saw him with that rifle – before he got to the protest?

    5?
    15?
    40?

And, in NORMAL circumstances, not all, but most, would have done what I would have done – call 911.

BUT, because of Texas’ Open Carry Law……the law abiding concerned citizen could do NOTHING.

    Where’s the NRA’s Statement?

    This was THEIR law.

After all, isn’t it all we need are those who are armed to stop things like this?

WHO IS MORE ARMED THAN THE POLICE?

    WHERE is the NRA’s Statement?
