As much as I love our Prez I have to say that song was bad. His voice was about gone and he was way out of tune almost like he had been partying too much. Now I feel like a Fox commentator. When he sang Amazing Grace he was way good then and with the other songs I heard too. It just makes him more real to me, not to be perfect all the time.
I thought the same thing, too OG. But then I thought, knowing how close he is to Malia, and that she soon will be heading off to Spain and then college, that I bet he was just too choked up to sing in his usual full voiced manner. Either way, he didn’t let it stop him from singing to her anyway. What a loving father.
Come on give the man a break. So what if he was off key. It was a loving moment between a father and his daughter. I’m pretty sure the family have already sung Happy Birthday to Malia, and I’m sure she probably had a birthday cake.
First of all let me say this, POTUS is not a great singer. And he was off key, my point is so. My point is it was heart felt father daughter moment, to held with him not sounding like a great singer.And no there is no harm in pointing that out.
I think it was amazing that the President also a proud Dad knew he was hoarse and would sound different but he did it anyway because it was not about how he sounded, it was about his daughter and how much he appreciated her willingness to share another birthday, a milestone birthday with hundreds of strangers because it’s a work day for her Dad and Mom. I loved him singing hoarse and courageous knowing many would diss him for how he sounded. It just means the listener fails to understand how to listen to the song – with LOVE. It was a tribute to the pride and love and respect he has for his daughter.
