Our elections have been closer than expected but the RW seems to be winning. My state does not help – sometimes it’s like living in Texas. A bigoted anti immigrant perpetual candidate seems to be doing well. All candidates get government funding – this one seems to use it as her only source of income – except this time she might get a seat in the senate – sigh.
It seems in Australia each state votes the opposite of their current state government in the Federal elections.
there are not many accolades that i can express about our Beloved President that hasn’t be stated already….but this article showed how much they are well deserved…i ventured over to the comments…yeahhhh i know. 🙂 ..but i was pleasantly surprised by what i found….i liked many of them…but this one in particular gave me real satisfaction…

Such a moving and inspiring read. And there’s a little bit of humor as well! 🙂
// “There is time, too, for fantasy about what life would be like outside the White House. Mr. Emanuel, who is now the mayor of Chicago but remains close to the president, said he and Mr. Obama once imagined moving to Hawaii to open a T-shirt shack that sold only one size (medium) and one color (white). I love this article. It made me feel very safe inside, to know that such a wonderful, intelligent man was working away into the night to keep us all safe and to better our lives. Thank you for posting this.
Most people with any sense knows exactly what that Benghazi investigation were all about. Trying to damage Hillary run for President. I hope the security for the other embassy around the world have been improved.
Good morning everyone:) Happy Long Weekend! Just read this article that Bobfr posted on the last thread…too important/interesting a read not to post here…MUST READ. PASS
Quick break again. Just found out that two of my neighbors died in a house fire this morning. Just two blocks behind my home, and I didn’t hear a thing… Asking prayers for the family and loved ones of Ted and Barbara Fine. They will be missed…
GM. There was a nice graphic posted here showing critical differences between Bernie’s positions and G. Johnson. Can anyone please post that again or a link to it? I’m seeing tons of outreach from the Johnson people to the sandernistas. I don’t like it. Thanks!
Reading DU, I see that Randi Rhodes is back…will launch her radio show this Tuesday for real….seems like she has built her own production studio and will not be beholden to any corporate media to air her talk show…(about damn time). I think she is a Sandernista…but I know damn well she won’t vote for DT…nutball incompetent that he is. Thought that you all might want to know:) Here’s a taste…
GM everyone. I know I haven’t been around for quite a while. Doesn’t mean I have forgotten the TOD family. I wanted to wish all of you a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend.
And remember, if you have a fifth on the fourth you may not go forth on the fifth.
If you have a fifth on the fourth you could be dead on the fifth. Goodness! Morning, japa:) Long time, no see! Hope you have a relaxing and wonderful holiday!
I hope to, although Mrs. Japa has a lengthy honey-do list. I retired the end of April and I think I having been working harder than when I was actually working for money.
Hi Japa. The to do lists never end. Today I stained my deck–still have one third to go and yesterday I weeded and mulched. It’s physically exhausting to retire. I still remember fondly the days when I had a staff to do mundane things and I dreamed of retirement. Ha! Now I know why people say, “Be careful what you wish for.”
Good to see you again, Japa! I hope you and your family have a Happy Fourth of July weekend, too. My husband, also recently retired, officially on June 23rd, and he’s been keeping real busy. He was let go from his job in March, and was getting 3 months severance pay.
Not an ideal slogan since it can be taken the exact opposite of the intended sentiment. Plus its first two words say you love the opponent. I think HRC team has backed off using it.
I love love this video….This is what we do as women….oftentimes we are made to feel not as competent because we care..because we are not afraid to show emotions…to show love…but this is one of our greatest gifts greatest strengths…
Truthfully, why not? If President Obama’s theme was Hope and Change (which worked out beautifully for sane, normal people), Hillary’s could then be Love and Kindness. It not only compares favorably with what Trumpster offers, but it’s a great follow-on to everything President Obama stands for, in my opinion. And it’s a necessary worldwide theme.
The secret of Rosewood. NEVERFORGET. The account of survivors of what happened during the Rosewood Terror attack when ameriKKKans destroyed a thriving Black community and why its important to tell the young the truth no matter how painful it is so they won’t forget it either….#NEVERFORGET
Tell blacks folks why they should fear ISIS, blacks folks have dealt with their form of ISIS right here in the United States, call the racists white man. How many more Rosewood were they in America?
WASHINGTON (AP) — A White House campaign to help military families has hit a new milestone: All 50 states have eased the requirements for military spouses whose careers require a professional license.
Michelle Obama said just three states accepted licenses from other states when she and Vice President Joe Biden’s wife, Jill, launched a broader initiative in 2011 to help military families.
Military spouses seek new employment every one to three years, on average, and more often than civilians, based on when their enlisted husbands or wives are deployed to new posts in a new state, the White House said Saturday in a fact sheet. About one-third of military spouses have careers that require a professional license, such as nursing or teaching.
O/T – Speaking of my five-year-old great grandson (and thanks for asking – Ha!) … his Mommy just told me they were talking about his first day at Kindergarten, coming up in August. She asked if he wanted her to pack his lunch for the first day. He said, “No, Mom, well I don’t know maybe.” She said, “I can give you whatever you want.” He said, “Can you dress up like a little kid and come to school with me?”
After I told her how cute that was, I asked her, “What are you going to wear?” LOL.
What we are witnessing with Trump is merely an extension of the “Christian Identity” hate cult that was McVeigh’s only “faith.”
And, the emergence of the conditions that enable folk like Trump to recruit zealots are precisely those described in the Neoliberalism treatise I posted in the previous thread – something I hope all of you read and spread widely.
back to work … take care everyone …. many hugs Chips!!! ….
Christie is almost a caricature of an ‘evil governor.’ Has he ever done one decent thing in his tenure? And people used to tell me that he “tells it like it is.” No wonder he follows Trump around like a puppy dog.
Lawyers for three people who survived the attack and the estates of five who were slain inside the Emanuel AME Church say the FBI negligently failed to thoroughly check Roof’s background before he bought the gun last year.
If the agency had done its job, Roof’s prior drug arrest would have shown up, and the bureau would have denied his purchase, the lawsuits filed Thursday allege.
**********************
why the FBI….i don’ t get this….the NC GOP controlled state house and the Congress are responsible for the lax gun laws…the Senate has held up the nominee for the ATF chief….
these are the folks who should be held accountable for lax gun laws……..
They’re suing over the effective maintenance and implementation of current checks in place that didn’t work. It’s winnable and the remedy is to make the system work better.
I agree with you in general but even in this specific case the FBI admits some mistakes were made, plus there was a local clerical error that resulted in his drug arrest not being caught. Sometimes the only fix for legislative negligence & malfeasance is to go through the courts. If it reaches federal level, which admittedly will take some time, the outcome could be far-reaching.
GM NW and Chips, wherever you are. Thanks NW.
gm TOD – hope you are all having a celebratory weekend. Congrats on No 1 COS

How awful, jazziz2! Thoughts go out to the family…good time to check the smoke alarm!
Oh goodness. So sorry to hear that, and will be praying for the family. Hugs to you.
Oh no! So sorry to hear about your neighbors Alycee! Sending you and their family love.
Oh, Jazz, that’s horrible. My heart and prayers are with the Fine family.
I’m so sorry Alycee. My thoughts and prayers for you, the family and friends of Ted and Barbara Fine.

That’s how it works, as I understand it! 🙂 Enjoy!!
YUP! Been retired 21 years and found the same. Have considered getting a job just so I have some TIME for myself…
Have a hunch I’ll be doing the same, but it won’t take me 21 years.

Thanks to FLOTUS and Dr. Jill Biden calling attention to this.
Absolutely. They walk the walk…and put their thoughts to action. Love and appreciate their tireless efforts

Planting seeds of antisemetism…
how is a star antisemetism?
This looks fascinating. Can’t wait to see what they find out about Jupiter.
One of my great grandson’s favorite shows. Watched a gazillion of ’em, with him! Just alerted some parents I know to add their voices.
My neighbors. You never know what will be the day or the hour…

Me too!
Christie is almost a caricature of an ‘evil governor.’ Has he ever done one decent thing in his tenure? And people used to tell me that he “tells it like it is.” No wonder he follows Trump around like a puppy dog.
If he loses by more than 7% it’ll be catastrophic for the GOP at the Federal & State level ….
Yay! Let’s make it happen!
Oh, Dudette. This is an election result ‘devoutly to be wished’ and so fitting to that disgrace of a candidate and his repulsive party.
Apologies for the peurile humor, but had to share this video of the cussin’ cuckoo! LOL! 😂
puerile
I can’t even spell when I’m being immature. 🙄
why do I feel that guy is wrong for deliberately destroying the bird’s home? I would cuss him out too.
smdh!!! so wrong.
I hope FLOTUS,Grandma and the girls have gotten home by now.
Sadness for the world…..
More than one way to get it done.
This is their suit…

this remedy blames the government for a system that has been obstructed by gun nuts and the gun lobby…and those legislators who do their bidding….
the folks who make out will be the attorneys…
