    Congrats Niliathiel on the gold.
And thank you Nerdy Wonka for keeping us so up to the minute on POTUS’s trip to Canada and FLOTUS and the girls in Morocco, etc.. I am visiting with my grand baby right now and don’t have a third hand, nor too many spare minutes, to keep up with TOD. So nice to take a quick break and come find out what is going on. Thank you.
And hello and hugs to all the DC TODers. 🙂

This is such a neat space. Upon turning my tv on It was on MSNBC at the wrong time. I usually only watch Rachel and Lawrence on that station. I had to turn the station quickly since Trump was at a rally saying tough things and the commentator was giving credit to Donald saying he could come out ahead by being tough on security.
I am glad to hear some positive things about my favorite President.

Obama Grandma, CNN showed the entire press conference. My sister says that MSNBC cut the presser and showed Trump. MSNBC is obsessed with that hateful bigot.

$$$$$. Maybe if NO ONE turned the station on anymore, and the ratings bottomed out, they might get the message? #clickoff

How is it possible that our president still has the power to make my weep with joy? His wonderful speech to the Canadian people is another reminder that we’ll never see this quality of humanity in office again, and we don’t want to miss a minute! Thank you TOD for making it possible to feel a part of this community of support for the best president our nation has ever seen.

Astonishing, astonishing speech, moved me to tears. You can see in PBO’s eyes that he knows this is his final round. He gave a superb speech and I’m grateful to the Canadian Parliament for recognizing him and his ideas with many, many standing ovations. WOW, what a moving moment in history.

Brilliant tweet, meta. I was just thinking that history will not look kindly on the antics of the GOP during the Obama presidency. They will be seen as ugly, unpatriotic, bigoted and destructive obstructionists who chose to put their party over their country. They bet their souls on political gain and lost, while the man they hated and tried to destroy triumphed in ways that could never have imagined.

    • June 29, 2016 at 7:29 pm

If it was Trump they would be saying No More Years. No More Years.

      • June 29, 2016 at 7:31 pm

It’s funny how others can respect our President, everyone but the racists bigots in the Republican tea party and their racists right wing so call christian base.

I felt so happy to see the Canadian Parliament stand and chant 4 more years for our wonderful president. But my mind went back to our congress where you had that jerk yell ‘you lie’ to PBO. More than 50% of American’s love PBO. But the 40+ % of Repugs hate him. Thankfully the vast majority of the rest of the world sees what we see in PBO.

I love these shots of the First Grandmother! I can just imagine how great it must feel to know your hard work as a struggling mom supported the wonderful person who is our First Lady, and prepared her for her partnership with our President, and then also became a foundation for these terrific First Daughters! It fills me with pride and respect just seeing her there ❤

      • June 29, 2016 at 8:22 pm

        I agree susanne. 100% 🙂

So true, but I was noticing her rocking that outfit. Can see where FLOTUS got her good taste !!

        • June 29, 2016 at 8:50 pm

I know the right wing haters will only talk about vacations, or the trips the Obamas take and how it is costing the taxpayers. But POTUS have about seven months left in office, I hope POTUS, FLOTUS and the girls, Grandma too, goes on more trips before they leave the WH.

Well said Susanne! My grandmother was one of the most important person in my life. I learned so much wisdom and practicality from her. I also learned from her unconditional love. I am so glad the First Daughters have their grandmother, along with their incredible parents, in their lives as the grow up and beggin navigating the adult world.

      GE HF2.

Except for a handful of elected GOP in Senate and House, GOP are in complete denial when it comes to the damage that is being done to the USA! by their appalling “presumptive nominee.” And this appalling spectacle is being promoted by the comfortably elite MSM. Absolutely nauseating.

    GOP in disarray…

    • June 29, 2016 at 7:50 pm

but this is the irony of it all…they do support his trickle down racism…they just are upset because Trump is not a Republican and has not allegiance to the GOP

    • June 29, 2016 at 8:18 pm

But Paul Ryan have no problem supporting a racists. Alot of folks who call themselves christians have no problem supporting a racists.

    • June 29, 2016 at 8:43 pm

he’s one of the most evil of all since he’s so ungodly dishonest…how he and buddy paul ryan purposely manipulate these phrases such as “tickle-down” off of themselves, and project them onto their opponents. and we know of course “the news” will never hold them to account for this, so they do it more and more. rmoney is the poster boy for trickle-down economics!!

Woman awes internet with national anthem at Lincoln Memorial
    Jun. 29, 2016 11:43 AM EDT

WASHINGTON (AP) — A Florida woman’s rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the Lincoln Memorial led to a burst of applause from onlookers — and a hugely popular online video.

The Washington Post reports Star Swain is an assistant principal in Tallahassee, Florida who was visiting Washington, D.C.

In the video Swain says “I’m scared,” before launching into the song. After she finishes the final notes, visitors at the memorial cheer.
Benny Bolden, a friend and elder at her church, told the Washington Post it started out as a dare.
