GE, TOD!
Congratulations on first place, Alycee! Loving all these happy pictures of our First Family, here and abroad.
The DGA’s polite way of saying “don’t let the door hit ya’…”
Sorry there is no way I can thank Bernie for anything. I am still quite upset with him.
Neither can I; however, love that it is the DGA, vice DNC, telling him to get the heck out…
Soooooo polite, but the message is unmistakable! He’s never going to give up. After so many years being a nonentity, he can’t give up the adulation.
I kinda sorta chuckled when I first saw that, and not in amusement. I probably should say I cackled softly, because I honestly doubt Sanders ever saw *me* while he was ranting and raving. Simply seeing him brings his abrasive approach to mind and I am definitely not fond of abrasive people. Go away now, Bernie. Settle for the signatures of your thousands of Berniesods.
“Berniesods”! 😀
Hi Maryl. Earlier I noticed somewhere that they cannot get you to ‘leave the building’. Have you ‘donated’ anything to your successor/department?
Hi vc, the problem is I know from my own observations and experiences that teachers seldom use the stuff others leave behind. People have different teaching styles, curriculum changes fairly rapidly, and now teachers can get better and more up to date things easily online.Plus, most of the stuff in my room was bought by me, especially the books. I have between and 1000 books; most are paperbacks that were part of my class library. The reading program I used taught the children how to pick their own ‘good fit’ book. It needed a large classroom library of all different reading levels and topics so that the children had a wide variety to choose from. Each child had 6-8 books in its book box and they changed books weekly. That’s a lot of books. A person who was not using that system would not need such a big classroom library. The book might end up packed up somewhere with no one using them or even thrown out. So I’m bringing them home for the time being. I also have furniture that is coming home with me. There are four of us who are planning to have a ‘teacher garage sale’ in August. That way we feel that the people who buy the things will actually use them. We’ll be selling them really cheaply. If that doesn’t work out or for the left-over stuff, we’ll donate it to the Flint school system. We know for sure that they will use everything since it is such a poor system. We could donate everything there right away, but it would mean renting a small moving van and the logistics would be more complicated. But I will have to be done by Thursday – they lock us out of the building then! I am leaving some books that I’m sure she will want. I’m also going to ask my principal to ask the new hires if any of them plan on using Daily 5 and if they are, I’ll happily donate my library back to them!
Wow, I’m speechless. That’s a *lot* of books for a classroom library! Your students sure got lucky and I bet you were able to encourage many to become readers. Good luck with your sorting and distributing!
ps: I wonder: Might it be possible that the Flint school system would be able to arrange the pick up themselves if they were offered the majority of your haul? I mean, they’ve got to have a teacher in their system or a parent or two who’d be willing to come (or arrange pick up) for a gift that would so benefit their children. Just a thought.
I hope so, vc, because otherwise I’d have to rent a truck! However our union might also be able to arrange something. I’m sure it will work out! In the meantime, I can barely move through my house! At first I was kind of sorting into big categories as I went. Now, it’s either throw it out or cram random stuff together just so I can be done! My summer job will definitely be Get Rid Of Things.
Me too, Marilyn. I think the only reason I would thank him now is if he “left the building”. But other than that how’s the weather in Montana since you’ve been back?
I am with you Marilyn! Bernie Sanders was all about dissing one of the most progressive presidents in history. Sorry, for me, it’s President Obama who has been fighting for us for 7and half years. Instead of Bernie joining him in fighting against the most vicious, racist and backwards Republicans, he chose to join them in attacking the President from the left. I will not only not thank Bernie Sanders, but I am also not ready to forgive him and his entitled supporters who enabled the right wingers by attacking the president from the left.
This is how I feel. I was sent a facebook article written by an Episcopal clergy member that basically suggested that Barack Obama stands more in line with the thinking of Bill O’Reilly with his drone strikes, etc. The author was calling for an end to armed conflict and put the onus on the President to change. Boy did I send a quick response to the person that sent me this. She had to go out of her way because I am not on facebook. Entitled means preaching to the person who has done more to change the warmongering mentality of the previous administration than anyone ever could. I wrote back all the reasons this President supports peace, inclusion, compassion and understanding as his true methods. The purity brigade is full of entitlement. Its so clear to me now. President Obama looks for change but also stability so that people will not be harmed by radical and unprepared for changes. He has also said his number one job is to keep his country safe yet there is not fear mongering like before, no drums of war, no torture and vilification of the enemy. Why can’t people give him credit for the remarkable things he has done and is doing.
Can’t stand Bernie or his crew of disappointeds. All entitled. Completely entitiled.
I don’t want to add my name. However, if a sample “thank you” to Che Sanderista will send him back to the Senate, show me where to sign. Quick, please.
“simple thank you” (Good grief! What’s wrong with my fingers?)
Oh great.
By Zeus! We need Jesus more.
Singing “…all by myself, don’t want to be, all by myself…”
Not for long…
Hey, Judith! Was on a quick break, now back to cleaning I go — first of four holiday houseguests arrives tomorrow…
Hope they are the easy kind! Have fun.
Worth reading the entire conversation…
The Lynx are my favorite team. Simone Augustus, Maya Moore, Rebekkah Brunson, Sylvia (Big Syl) Fowles, Lindsa
Ugh! This tablet is so damn jumpy! Anyhow, I love the Lynx!
I like the L.A. Sparks.
Sarah Slamen went by @VictoriaPrude back then – but her twitter account has been suspended (why are we not surprised). So glad to hear again what she had to say to the Texas legislature a few years ago!
Thanks for this Post, NW. MN Linx, Congrats, again 😉
Good Evening TOD.
Congrats, Jazziz2 on your Solid Gold ⭐
JER, thank you for this video. What a lovely scene, such poised women representing the USA abroad!
I agree No Child.
I saw FLOTUS arriving in Morocco earlier thanks to JER. FLOTUS, Grandma, Malia and Sasha look nice. I am glad to be able to keep up with the trip. Thanks JER and NW. You know I love my FLOTUS. 🙂
Sasha has a dress on almost like FLOTUS.
Going out to early vote. I always like the idea that if I don’t survive until Saturday I still get to vote 🙂 GOP should check all those early voters.

swimminghairsweeping?Hay amk when do Serena play? You know Wimbledon started today.
She is playing today at 1300 hrs GMT.
What is that? 9am.
I agree fully only with some of these, while agreeing wholeheartedly with ‘Do not throw shade on ANY of them on my mentions.’ 😀
Heading to bed – sweet dreams to everyone who is sleeping.
Chips Chica, you are in my thoughts.

Goodnight, sweet VC. I hope Chips feels that hug.
We shouldn’t laugh. (Should we?)
I didn’t laugh, though I heard my mouth made a funny sound.
“make a funny sound”
I thought that was you. 🙂
GM JO’B (hoping you’re snugly abed, which is where I’m heading soon).
Don’t understand these Senators that keep running for office past their “use by” date. McCain should retire and enjoy his 7 homes.
Confusingly results from *this* PPP shows McCain ahead by 2 (as opposed to @dailynewsbin, which states that Kirkpatrick is ahead by 2 according to PPP), and I don’t have the energy to investigate now. However, McCain’s approval rating is “disastrous.”
Looking forward to AZ joining the western blue wall.
*the western blue wall* = love it!
GM/GA!
Goodnight, TODville – and all the ships at sea!
Good idea! About time.

GM, TOD. R.I.P. Pat Summit. A legend.
We aren’t in Knoxville. Made a quick trip back to northern OH (where we lived for 18 years). Two “young” men who my husband hired in 1978 are retiring so we came back for their event. Also, my husband’s former boss has had numerous TIA’s fairly recently. We knew we needed to get back to see him………stop talking about it and do it. Well also see a few other folks. Head back tomorrow.
Good morning TOD 🙂
