Passed through your fair city on our way home from Peru. My daughter, the public health nurse, took me as her guests to the dinner where President Obama was the featured speaker last night. He rocked the room. So happy to hear him very much on his game. He will have fun on the campaign trail this year without the pressure of his own re-election.
That’s wonderful, Judith, that you got to see and hear President Obama at the dinner last night. I just saw on the last thread that Second Lady Jill Biden was in Peru this week, and wondered, if you had crossed paths.
I love her too, J’OB. Just as I love her husband, VP Joe Biden, and POTUS, and FLOTUS. I will miss all FOUR of them come next year. I will especially miss their compassion, their grace, their intellect, their humor, thier honesty, their love of children and young people, their passion for education, their commitment to improving the lives of women and girls, their commitment to improving the lives of the military members and their families, but above all, their love for all human beings regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation. For me, the Obamas and Bidens are a model of how real genuine leaders, dedicated to improving the lives of all the people, act and behave.
Just as they casually overlook the ‘well-regulated’ part of the well-regulated militia clause in the Constitution they so claim to revere. Bunch of phonies, less than human. IMHO
I actually did a Jersey girl Q&A inside my head on that one (Q: Would you write this about anybody else?) (A: No, but he deserves it, and wouldn’t it be an easy answer to the sitch-u-a-tion), to assuage (my Catholic) guilt. (Amen.)
I don’t want to spook you or anything but I had a fleeting thought today that he was going to be in an air crash or something. It’s gross I know but I think it’s all a product of being sickened by what a horrible person he is.
Truly, I never like to wish harm on any person. I just kinda wait for it. If it comes, it comes. Sometimes it does come, and it comes quickly. Nothing to do with us.
Seriously, though, been thinking a lot about what would happen to him WHEN he doesn’t win. He’ll never be able to face that – not with that personality. We may never hear from him again. Nothing to do with us.

By the time I’d put the kettle on, the stock markets were in free fall, Scotland was debating a new independence referendum, Sinn Fein was making secession noises, and the prime minister had resigned.
There’s not enough tea in the entire nation to help us Keep Calm and Carry On today. Not on a day when prejudice, propaganda, naked xenophobia and callous fear-mongering have won out over the common sense we British like to pride ourselves on. Not on a day when we’re being congratulated by Donald Trump, Marine Le Pen, and nobody else. Well done, turkeys. Santa’s on his way.
