WATCHING……………..

It’s hard to know who to believe in MSM.
This from Reuters reporter:

We are trying to change things for the betterment of the least of us.
Yes, I’m in favor of BANNING …..
GM TODville.
So sickened to wake up to such horrific news on a (what otherwise for me) is a blissful Sunday morning (the weather here is absolutely perfect, the flowers in my garden are all abloom, hummingbirds loving it, etc.).
This sent a chill down my spine – those in TODville who remember the Twilight Zone (or who catch up via TV marathons or online[?]) may share my feeling.
John Dickerson saying that this is the 18th time the President has addressed the nation about gun violence seemed surreal to me — got a Twilight Zone deja vu feeling:
Unbelievable:
Disgusting people all the way around. Hate and fear rule the day
I am more of a believer that this is a hate crime, as opposed to American citizen turned Islamic Terrorist hogwash. From the killer’s own family: http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/breakingnews/father-orlando-shooter-was-enraged-by-same-sex-kiss/ar-AAgWBCB?li=BBnbkly&ocid=spartandhp
This guy was a security guard with gun licenses, according to his family. Full of hate over two men kissing in front of his family.
Hate of others and other’s lifestyles seems to be the staple of America.. with the likes of Trump running for the highest office in the land and the media turning a blind eye while normalizing the hatred/racism/ bigotry. We’ve made this hate acceptable and palatable for too many.
Totally agree with you, sherijr. Thought this more and more as I’ve read.
So completely sick of the hate, df.
Me too…me too. We have to be strong and bend the arc of justice….
agree. we had a shooting (no one hurt) at the end of my block on Thursday afternoon. Just some guy decided to shoot off his gun while walking past the chicken fast food place. One bullet went through the window, there were several shots fired. Lots of police and the entire neighborhood came out. My neighbor and her three little girls came and chatted for a while on my porch… the 7 yr old says to me- I hate guns, I wish there were no guns. So there is always hope for our future, df. We keep plugging away.
At times like this we have to keep our heads/clear thoughts about us….if we give up, lunatics win. Not while I walk this Earth.
With all the attention focused on the massacre….there’s this. I think this week may be the week we mend fences….? Hopefully.

June 12, 2016 – Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and Navy combat veteran and NASA astronaut Captain Mark Kelly, the Co-Founders of the gun violence prevention organization Americans for Responsible Solutions (ARS), issued the below statement following this morning’s mass shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida:
“This is a sad and dark day for this country we all love.
“We want to say that this tragedy is unthinkable. But it is not.
“Once again, a mass shooting has torn a community apart. Make no mistake: Our country is in the grips of a gun violence crisis. It claimed at least 50 lives early this morning. It claimed 33,000 lives last year.
“Some will say that our nation must accept this as the new normal. Some will say that there is nothing we can do to make our country safer from gun violence. It’s not true. We cannot let armed ambushes become the new normal in our country. We have to do better than this. And we can. We have to do more to ensure hatred doesn’t find its evil voice in the crack of a gunshot. We are heartbroken that this attack allegedly targeted our country’s LGBTQ community as they celebrated Pride Month.
“We are incredibly grateful to the first responders who acted so bravely this morning to save lives and bring this horror to an end. We grieve for those taken and with their loved ones, and we pray for strength for the injured. Our hearts and prayers are in Orlando and with our fellow Americans in the LGBTQ community.”
I have been immersed in a three-year old cocoon for the last 40 hours—no news, just kiddie videos; no political discussion, just kiddie gymnastics and ballet; no violence, just kiddie hugs and play times. What happened in Orlando has now hit me like a ten ton load of bricks and I feel like raging and screaming at the thought that young lives in the US are going to continue to be blighted by a culture that allows terrorists and hate-filled bigots to purchase military level weapons of mass destruction at will. Every one of the 50 dead and 53 injured in Orlando lived in the hope that they could be safe and valued by their communities and their country. Instead their fellow citizens chose to elect people who put their own careers above human life and the profit of the gun industry above decency. Nothing will ever change unless these violators of conscience and humanity are thrown out. Every person in public office who has voted against gun legislation or receives money from the NRA or parrots the bigotry of Donald Trump must called out and thrown out. No matter how long it takes or what it costs, this has to be our goal.
New post.
