GA, TOD! Sitting on a charter for a jazz cruise on the Delaware River. Thanking God that even with procrastination and traffic, I made it to the dock before boarding!
As an American, if I turn to ESPN I expect to see sports that made this country great. Those examples would be Football, Basketball, and Baseball. But just now I turned to ESPN and they were broadcasting Soccer or European Football as it is known outside of America. I’m not trying to start anything, far be it from me to start anything. I’ll just say this, as a hard-working red blooded American I expect to see those games that have shaped my childhood. Now there is nothing wrong with Soccer, I played that great game in elementary and junior high school. But c’mon, this is the big leagues, and my Saturdays should be filled with entertainment that I should enjoy. Now before any of you get started on me, my best friend in junior high and high school played soccer, I just can’t remember his name but he was a good guy though.
If you expect to see those “red blooded American” games….you will need to pay extra. NFL Network….and whatever else they put out there a la carte….Capitalism baby!
Hehe, Don 🙂 ….This is a huge Euro tourney & part of ESPN’s World Cup portfolio…to be a little fair Stanley Cup finals are exclusive to NBC (game 6 left) and NBA Finals ABC (Game 5 Monday) ….there is nothing left except baseball….my Braves are too atrocious, so I have stuck to NCAA Super-Regionals as my only outlet. Last week it was the WCWS & even the latest golf tournaments have been uninteresting 😕 ….but I feel your pain!!!
By time we get to September, the rethugs may be pleading for an emergency constitutional convention with the 50 states each ratifying the 3rd amendment… and canceling the election…
Kansas should be the condom capital of the world, because every time you turn around their elected officials are trying to fuck them. Obviously the safe word that they’re using isn’t working.
I had lunch with a good friend today, and the election of course came up, and our total disgust with Trump. She mentioned the same thing….that when you see his family standing behind him, they look choked and scared to death.
Most politicians are driven, to some significant extent, by insecurity – the need to be loved and to have that love publicly affirmed. (A rare exception, as I’ve written, is Barack Obama, who could stand to crave a little more approval from time to time.)
But for Trump, insecurity is not a manageable motivator. It is the black hole that consumes him.
He needs constantly to be talked about, admired, validated. He has an almost pathological obsession with ratings, polls, flattering profiles – anything that seems to call out, from the unrelenting darkness, “You exist and you are seen.” He talks about being a winner more than anyone I’ve ever met who doesn’t play with Pokémons or watch the Wiggles.
TVW, dear friend. We have to know what’s going on, especially now that the GOP is in full meltdown on the election. No SCOTUS confirmation, no budget, no Zika funding.
You’re so welcome. Each time it seems like Congress may be taking one step forward toward action, they wind up taking two steps back. Meanwhile, we have a lot of pregnant women who have contracted the virus. It’s truly sickening.
I think so too (coup at the R convention) the war of words between Romney and Trump is interesting. Trump can make Romney sound like the adult in the room……..!!!!!
Don’t know if any of you heard her, but both Thursday and Friday, Stephanie Miller kept saying she’s just not sure Trump will end up as the nominee. With what he’s already done and said and knowing that this is who he is so he will continue to go off the rails on a regular basis………her thinking is that there may very well be a coup at the convention. As the saying goes, time will tell.
Friday afternoon I hear a few minutes of Thom Hartman. (Haven’t been listening to him because he is a big Bernie Bro.) Anyway, he said pretty much same thing Stephanie said. He thinks it’s 50/50 that Trump will be nominee.
His ego could well stop him from dropping out – and whoever they use to replace him would have massive work to get a campaign up and running – not to mention the hate that would pour forth from the trumpsters. I think it’s way too late.
Now he’s “warning”or “threatening” President Obama that if he campaigns for Clinton, he,Trump, will be going after him like he went after Bill Clinton so I guess we’ll be treated to week after week of birth certificates, Kenya, Muslim, Rev. Wright, and the ‘n’ word by another name. Lots of other names.
He has damaged her-her favorability dipped when he started really attacking her, but now that he’s out of the race and everyone understand the choice is between Trump and her they will go back up again.
They have no answers other than to attack the opposition IF the media asks the question. Trump & many of his surrogates would have thrown off the microphone and left.
Donald Trump on Saturday went after one of his favorite targets, tearing into Jeb Bush in his home state of Florida.
During a rally in Tampa, Fla. Trump mocked the former Florida governor’s failed presidential run.
Trump noted Bush’s low polling throughout the contest, which placed him at the edge of the stage at Republican debates.
“I was center stage at every debate,” Trump said.
Trump disparaged former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush on his home turf, calling him “Jebba” and dismissing his one-time primary rival’s political clout.
“You know the way guys were falling off the ends? I said ‘Jeb, you’re not gonna be here much longer, you’re pretty far down there Jeb-ah. You’re not going to be here much longer, Jeb. You gotta get tougher, Jeb.’ ”
“I don’t think he’s going to endorse me, do you folks?” Trump asked the crowd, before dismissively adding: “Who the hell cares?”
Bush has said he will not vote for Trump in November.
PARK CITY, Utah — Donald Trump is trying to win over a skeptical Republican donor class, but they’ve closed their wallets — and they’re angry.
On Friday afternoon, at an exclusive Republican donor retreat here hosted by Mitt Romney, frustration boiled over. During an off-the-record question-and-answer session with House Speaker Paul Ryan, Meg Whitman, the billionaire Hewlett Packard chief executive officer, confronted the speaker over his endorsement of Trump. Whitman, a major GOP giver who ran for California governor in 2010, compared Trump to historical demagogues like Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini and wanted to know how the speaker could get behind him.
At another discussion session during the day, which featured top Romney alumni Stuart Stevens and Matt Rhoades, Ana Navarro, a Republican contributor and ubiquitous cable news personality, called Trump a “racist” and a “vulgarian and a pig who has made disgusting comments about women for years.” (Neither Whitman nor Navarro would comment.)
Even Ryan, who has endorsed Trump despite criticizing his behavior, joked during his presentation on Friday that in a recent conversation with magician David Copperfield, he said that he wished he could make himself disappear.
Hye, bye.
Hear, bear.
You are the best. Always helping us keep up with this fantastic time in history. Love you for it.
Thanks so much!

Here is a nice TL of some of her beautiful performances:

I know about capitalism, I pay for the Directv Football package and the NBA package.
You mean to tell me they have soccer on THOSE channels, too??!! Then I’m with you!! 🙂
This is so funny.

54/ 42 approval 👀 👀
🙂 Really means 65 or 70%…. Have I mentioned that it’s 110% with me?! Will miss him so much….
True dat. Hi Df 🙂 🙂
By time we get to September, the rethugs may be pleading for an emergency constitutional convention with the 50 states each ratifying the 3rd amendment… and canceling the election…
Of course, we would then see FLOTUS morph into the classic “ABW;” just wishful thinking…
The man partially responsible for SB1070….
Kansas should be the condom capital of the world, because every time you turn around their elected officials are trying to fuck them. Obviously the safe word that they’re using isn’t working.
Agreed:)
I just threw up a little in my mouth….what a damn fraud.
What made me throw up a little in my mouth.
This chump is completely PSYCHO.
Time for an intervention. Where is his family? Oh, wait. They are all scared of him. They have seen it all. We are jut getting the preview.
Oh, yes, I think you’re right. It’s a family in terror of a bully, who have themselves become bullies to others.
Profound. I am sure your are right.
I had lunch with a good friend today, and the election of course came up, and our total disgust with Trump. She mentioned the same thing….that when you see his family standing behind him, they look choked and scared to death.
The boys are scared, but not Ivanka. Wondering if she is the real heir to the throne…

Let’s try that again;
WOW!!

Thank you for following up regularly on this terrible topic, meta. Brava.
TVW, dear friend. We have to know what’s going on, especially now that the GOP is in full meltdown on the election. No SCOTUS confirmation, no budget, no Zika funding.
Meta, thanks so much for providing these weekly updates. This is important information. 🙂
I live in Florida, so I am keen on these numbers. Crazy GOPers will kill us all with their insanity.
You’re so welcome. Each time it seems like Congress may be taking one step forward toward action, they wind up taking two steps back. Meanwhile, we have a lot of pregnant women who have contracted the virus. It’s truly sickening.
So excited about this! When I was little I thought Shirley Chisholm was so cool. My mom was a big admirer of hers.
This!!!!!
Thissssssss Indeed!
i think that this is a case of good cop/bad cop….
i anticipate a coup taking place at the Republican Convention
I think so too (coup at the R convention) the war of words between Romney and Trump is interesting. Trump can make Romney sound like the adult in the room……..!!!!!
indeed….something will happen….but who ever it will be…there will be a surge among Republicans…unless when the dust clears Trump is still standing….
that graft that shows the impact of Sanders’ attack on Hillary is something to remember…

Trump’s going to get demolished by Clinton; Here’s why he needs to drop out now

My thoughts exactly 99. The trumpsters would go nuts that their votes, etc., are being ignored, and I think it will get beyond really ugly with them.
Which is why I believe the GOP has to nominate Trump. He may well win less states than Goldwater (6)
I think he has mental health issues
What could he have meant??
Who knows. He thinks he’s the Master of the Universe
Now he’s “warning”or “threatening” President Obama that if he campaigns for Clinton, he,Trump, will be going after him like he went after Bill Clinton so I guess we’ll be treated to week after week of birth certificates, Kenya, Muslim, Rev. NW, you are simply THE BEST!!!
You always bring us great stuff!
Daddy did a good Job….ask the President about doing his daughter’s hair…hahaha
awe…too cute for words.
yesssss…
See the mistake they made? Asking Republicans to spend money to protect WOMEN. Ain’t gonna happen….

She is proud of a racists.
Saw her entire show this morning. She was masterful! Over and over. Truly masterful.
This is comedy gold.

Bush has said he will not vote for Trump in November.
So he has now alienated loyal Jeb Bush supporters.
“Great” businessman! He even got a “small” loan from daddy and still kinda sucks…
It’s Sunday morning in my world df – that photo is not conducive to a lazy lovely Sunday. He so looks like what one imagines a con man looks like
Oh dear! So sorry, 99ts….Not fair to see that anytime of the day, but especially first thing in the morning! Here/

Furious GOP donors stew over Trump
At an exclusive Park City retreat, some of the Republican Party’s top financiers lashed out at their nominee.

They own every bit of this:) Now they want to step away? Tie this around them like the albatross it is….
New post.
