Morning all and thank you, Nerdy, for that glorious photo–there’s so much love in PBO’s hug. He and Michelle must be so proud of Malia. I am off for a weekend of babysitting our granddaughter so will see you all later. Have a glorious weekend!

Thank you Nerdy for sharing the precious embrace of PBO and Malia.

    Congrats on first, Don!

Good morning TOD folks. What a beautiful pic. Couldn’t be a happier day for a parent except the next one.

They built this and continue building this. In a cynical way, I am enjoying this completely fraudulent and principle-less party meltdown.

I worried incessantly in 2008 that PBO might not win – Hillary will walk this in – even if they get rid of Trump – which seems somewhat impossible.

And unless a GOP miracle occurs she will take the senate and probably the house with her.

Now – if only things were so obvious in Australia. Think we are well into a no majority senate

    Good Saturday, Nerdy…TOD Family!

Nerdy, you have been awesome in holding down the fort! Though I have been mostly lurking in recent weeks, I see you!!!! šŸ™‚ Thank you so much for what you do.

And thanks also to the TOD regulars who are helping to keep us informed and countering the GOP/MSM tactics of “distract and discourage” with facts and posts that keep us upbeat and lift our spirits.

I hope that things are going well with Chipsticks and her mother.

Everyone, have a great weekend! šŸ˜€

One of the toughest questions for Ryan came from Meg Whitman, the chief executive of Hewlett-Packard and a longtime friend of Romney’s who helped bankroll a Republican anti-Trump super PAC this spring. Whitman asked Ryan how he could endorse someone with, in her judgment, such poor character and whose campaign has been based on personal attacks and division. According to two people present, Whitman said Trump is the latest in a long line of historic demagogues, explicitly comparing him to Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.

    GM TODville.

Happy weekend — know there’s a lot going on with everyone, especially those getting ready for this month’s meetup in DC!

HF2 posted this article on yesterday’s overnight thread, which includes @metaquest tweet and a bonus video of FLOTUS discussing the final #EasterEggRoll and why Malia and Sasha attended March’s state dinner for Canada. Bonus: video ends with an #ObamaAndKids moment.

And to answer Mr. Grumpy’s (aka amk) question upthread…
“Malia’s sister, Sasha — who rang in her 15th birthday on the same day — was also in attendance, along with their mother, First Lady Michelle Obama.”

The WH probably requested that photogs layoff hounding Sasha on her birthday and her big sis’ graduation.

It’ll take awhile (and there’s nearly 5 months to go until the election), but if MSM continues to remind voters of the consequences of the appalling possibility of a Trump presidency, HRC will sail into January with House and Senate majorities:

One day a couple of summers ago, my little great grandson had closed his eyes and put his face up to the sun like that, while sprawled out on the lawn, and he said to me, “I’m thinking words.”

So with his eyes still closed, I said, “Say ‘Life is good'” and he said “Life is good.” Got him to repeat that a few times that summer. Such a special memory of childhood innocence.

Say “Life is good,” Mr. President!

That is beautiful! I had a similar moment with my nephew recently.

I watched the Jet Li movie “Fearless” with him and my sister a while back. There’s this sublime scene where he and some others are planting a rice field and whenever a strong wind blew by everyone would stop, close their eyes and soak up the wind. I noticed him doing that the other day when we were at the park. I didn’t say anything, but I smiled from way deep inside. šŸ™‚

Gotta admit I just got a little chill and teared up a bit. These are the moments in life worth remembering! I’ve been reminding my granddaughter in a casual way, that it’s not the “things,” it’s the memories. Mostly because her little son’s a bit older now and she keeps mentioning that every time she brings home a toy for him, it gets broken, and she wonders why he’s not more careful. I’ll remind her again to skip the toy and go soak up a strong wind or a warm sun. Lovely. šŸ™‚

Pastor’s Viral Response to Brock Turner’s Dad
ā€œA steep price to pay for 20 minutes of actionā€

    • 79 vcprezofan2
      June 11, 2016 at 11:37 am

Morning Alycee – sending you warm wishes for a good Saturday! šŸ™‚

      Another pastor’s (blog) response:

      // …………………………………….

ā€œWhatever you believe will dictate how you behave.ā€ So when it comes to understanding how and why something so heinous and so despicable as a 20 year old Stanford student named Brock Turner getting just six months for raping a woman behind a dumpster we have to take an honest look at our beliefs and not just his behavior.
      …………………………………

Before we point fingers, let’s consider the implications of what we believe about our daughters and why travesties like the Brock Turner case take place in this country and all over the world on a daily basis. The truth is that our belief about the value of our daughters hasn’t changed much.

      Here are a few examples:

We pay women less because we believe our daughters are worth less than our sons.
We enforce unfair double standards as it relates to sexuality because we believe our daughters are worth less than our sons.

We make it difficult for women to serve in positions of leadership because we believe our daughters are worth less than our sons.

We use femininity as something that is synonymous with weakness or inferiority when we use statements that end with ā€œlike a girlā€, because we believe our daughters are worth less than our sons.

When we ask ourselves the question, ā€œHow can a 20 year old male get caught raping a young woman behind a dumpster and only get 6 months of jail time?ā€ The answer is found in what we believe about our daughters.

We still believe they are worth less than our sons.

We still believe that the sins of our sons are worth protecting even at the risk of damaging the souls of our daughters.

We still believe that our daughters are commodities to be sold, mortgaged, and bartered for our own freedom and pleasure.
      ……………………………………

Our daughters deserve our protection but more importantly they deserve our respect.

      #respectourdaughters
