President Barack Obama speaks to the media during a lunch with young men at the White House. The men are participating in the White House Mentorship and Leadership Program
Lucy Kells, a veterinary nurse at the hospital in Worcestershire, said: “He really surprised everyone here – we had never seen anything like it before.
“The thing that shocked us the most was the smell. He smelled amazing, he really smelled good.”
G’morning Nerdy & TOD! š Thanks Nerdy for the Early Bird chat and all of your wonderful posts yesterday! Congrats Allison, on #1, and Happy Friday everyone.
Happy graduation to Malia Obama, and Happy 15th birthday to our not-so-little-anymore Sasha! š
A big day for the Obama girls today. Happy 15th Birthday Sasha Obama. And Congratulation to Malia Obama on her graduation from High School. I saw were ex-President Clinton were the speaker at Chelsea Clinton graduation from Sidwell High School.
Hi all. Those young men look so fine in their suits, nice shirts, ties and bow ties. I can just imagine the scurrying around at their respective homes, trying to dress up for the White House. Today must be so bittersweet for the Obama family as their oldest girl undergoes the great rite of passage known as a high school graduation. She’s an adult now by most legal standards and no longer their little girl. This is the day of joy and weeping as I so well remember from our own kids. Can’t believe Sasha is already 15 and will herself leave the nest in just a few short years. These are the moments when you hope all that you’ve tried to teach your children and all the love and support you’ve given them will stand them in good stead in the grown up world. Bless them all!
Trump: Obama just endorse Crooked Hillary, he just want four more years of Obama, cause no one else do. I would love to tell Trump that I know of alot of people who want President Obama to stay in office Four More Years. More then four. If he could and that is what the First Family wanted. He would have my vote.
Nerdy, you’ve done an absolutely magnificent job in these last weeks keeping TOD thriving with news and perspectives on all that’s happening in our political world. Thanks aren’t really enough for all this effort and I know it comes from both a commitment to TOD and President Obama and great love and loyalty to Chips. If you have a chance, could you let us know how Chips and her mom are doing? They’re on all of our hearts. Hope you have good things happening in your life. With your intelligence, dedication and passion, you surely have a very bright future ahead of you. Can’t wait to see all that you achieve!
thank you Jackie, for speaking for all of us. We thank NW for doing such a great job. We want Chips to know we miss her and keep her and her family in our prayers.
* For anyone still under the illusion that Donald Trumpās business record is his greatest selling point as a presidential candidate, Steve Reilly pretty much tears through that myth.
At least 60 lawsuits, along with hundreds of liens, judgments, and other government filings reviewed by the USA TODAY NETWORK, document people who have accused Trump and his businesses of failing to pay them for their work. Among them: a dishwasher in Florida. A glass company in New Jersey. A carpet company. A plumber. Painters. Forty-eight waiters. Dozens of bartenders and other hourly workers at his resorts and clubs, coast to coast. Real estate brokers who sold his properties. And, ironically, several law firms that once represented him in these suits and others.
Trumpās companies have also been cited for 24 violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act since 2005 for failing to pay overtime or minimum wage, according to U.S. Department of Labor dataā¦
In addition to the lawsuits, the review found more than 200 mechanicās liens ā filed by contractors and employees against Trump, his companies or his properties claiming they were owed money for their work ā since the 1980sā¦
The actions in total paint a portrait of Trumpās sprawling organization frequently failing to pay small businesses and individuals, then sometimes tying them up in court and other negotiations for years. In some cases, the Trump teams financially overpower and outlast much smaller opponents, draining their resources. Some just give up the fight, or settle for less; some have ended up in bankruptcy or out of business altogether.
……………………………………….
I know it’s sort of cruel to put these folks on film, but I want ads from the ones who had to go out of business because of Trump. …
I think they are strolling there together. This is a no contest. Trump will lose big and what PBO will be doing is bringing the house & the senate over to the dem side. IF (and that is a big IF) the GOP get rid of Trump, things could be a little closer.
Good morning Ms. Chips, Danny and TOD family, I hope all is well with everyone this lovely Friday morning. TGIF>> Congrats Allison, on being first this morning.
Thanks Nerdy for opening up TODāville this morning as well as all the other wonderful things you do for us. ššššš
To all, I hope that your greatest character, dynamic personality, and wonderful soul, is on full display today. ⤠⤠ā¤
Thank God that President Obama is still the President of The United States of America. āš āš āš
The so called liberal outlet that really annoys me is TPM. Their front page is always 95% GOP. Might be good or bad news – but always the GOP. When that is all people see, they think the dems are not doing anything.
HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) ā Two Republican officials in New Jersey are switching political parties over what they say are racist comments made by presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.
Hackensack Mayor John Labrosse and Deputy Mayor Kathleen Canestrino changed their party affiliation to independents on Thursday.
He definitely needs to go. Unfortunately that sack of shit’s term doesn’t end until 2021. Never wished ebola virus on anyone but if he got it, I feel maybe a twinge of sad… no, not really.
Elizabeth Warren has arrived at Hillary Clinton’s house in D.C., for their meeting. I’m sure the neighbors are loving all the trucks and news crews outside on t he street (NOT).
As the White House race took off last summer, food giant Mondelez International found itself in an unusual position: Republican candidate Donald Trump began delivering broadsides against one of its iconic products, Oreo cookies.
“Nabisco is closing a factory in Chicago, and theyāre moving to Mexico. No more Oreos. I donāt like Oreos anymore,” Trump told a crowd in New Hampshire on Aug. 14, reacting to reports that Mondelez was shutting down some production lines at its Nabisco subsidiary in Chicago while boosting output in Mexico.
Trump’s statement that Mondelez was closing a Chicago factory was erroneous, as the company quickly pointed out, but that didn’t stop him from repeating it.
t’s unusual for a top presidential candidate, especially a representative of the business-friendly Republican Party, to attack major U.S. corporations by name.
But over the course of his unconventional campaign, Trump has aimed his fire at a range of companies, mostly for shifting jobs abroad (Ford Motor Co, United Technologies Corp unit Carrier Corp) but also for building products in foreign markets (Apple) and for what he said were violations of antitrust laws (Amazon).
Trump has threatened the companies with boycotts, tariffs, taxes and other punishments. The Trump campaign declined to comment for this story.
Some of the companies saw their share prices dip in the wake of Trump’s criticism while others experienced a small boost.
But all of them were presented with a dilemma that’s familiar to the presumptive nominee’s many vanquished Republican rivals: Should they engage with a possible future president known for holding a grudge, possibly inviting more wrath, or should they lie low and risk allowing Trump to define them and to push policies they deem harmful?
GM Everyone!! Have a great day!

Too chicken – or scared of big chicken – to change it to Democratic??
Cowards, both of them. Let me guess, both are probably embroiled in a tight re-election fight?
For those in GA, vote this punk out
