    Good morning TOD folks!

Thanks for the inspiring story, Nerdy. Good morning to all TODers on this historic day–when we see the first female candidate for President win both pledged and super delegates to become the official presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party. As a woman of “a certain age” I never thought such a day would be possible. The level of bigotry in the US can seem overwhelming and depressing, but once in a while, as in 2008, we show our greatness as a people and a nation.

As another woman of “a certain age” this historic day certainly makes me smile. It’s something I never thought I would see. As a bonus, imagine 2 historic presidents in a row!

Another woman of a “certain age” absolutely delighted and thrilled for this historic event……a woman viable presidential candidate. I’ve lived through so much, and have so much respect for women…..and men…..who have fought to move us forward. My little bitty short grandmother was a powerhouse suffragette in New England back in the day. I’m proud to have her in my lineage. I was brought up to believe that the franchise is precious…….and now I get to vote for someone like me for president.

    GOP unveils Dodd-Frank alternative
By Peter Schroeder – 06/07/16 12:02 AM EDT

A leading House Republican has unveiled the GOP plan to regulate Wall Street and replace the Dodd-Frank financial reform law.

A new bill introduced by House Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas) would fundamentally remake the financial regulation landscape, and eradicate major pieces of President Obama’s Wall Street reform law.

Congressional Republicans have considered dozens of smaller bills tweaking the sweeping 2010 law. But Hensarling’s latest proposal marks the broadest, most ambitious effort yet by the GOP to change how Wall Street and Washington interact. Hensarling will detail the bill in remarks delivered to the Economic Club of New York Tuesday morning.
“Simply put, Dodd-Frank has failed. It’s time for a new legislative paradigm in banking and capital markets,” he will say, according to prepared remarks.

Such a plan is a political longshot this Congress, as the White House has repeatedly threatened to veto any changes to Dodd-Frank, and congressional Democrats have shown little interest in revisiting it. But Hensarling’s plan could serve as a blueprint for Republicans after the presidential election, particularly if the party’s nominee, Donald Trump, wins the White House.

But in his speech, Hensarling laid the blame for a lackluster economic recovery squarely at the feet of the new financial rules, which he argued has hamstrung the economy.

“if the party’s nominee, Donald Trump, wins the White House.”

I have reached the point of continual laughter when the media raises the possibility that Trump will win in November. I was the biggest worry wart in 2008, worried slightly less in 2012 & even from afar can say without chance of correction that Trump will NEVER be President of your United States. Hillary Clinton has scattered the glass, not only will she be the Dem nominee, she will be the President of the United States.

I cannot imagine that the US has enough bigots and haters to elect this person jackie. I don’t even believe it will be close. Hillary will win more states than PBO won in 2008.

I was reading yesterday he doesn’t even know how to run a campaign, doesn’t appear to have much funding and the GOP need their money for other races. His school boy bullying has shown the caliber of the GOP pretenders who ran away to cry. Hillary has coped with worse for 20 years – and she is smart enough – as are her major supporters, not to answer in kind. He cannot win at any level.

And slightly off topic – I will not be surprised if he refuses to debate.

Good West Coast morning NW & TOD family. Last night was awesome & inspiring! I went to the Greek Theater for a concert supporting HRC. Hillary was amazing in person, the amphitheater was sold out! John Legend and Ricky Martin had the crowd rocking, Jamie Foxx was hilarious and Stevie Wonder sent us home singing! Team Trump struggles with dysfunction, leaderless amateurism

    http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/team-trump-struggles-dysfunction-leaderless-amateurism

Second, this entire dynamic speaks volumes about Trump’s management style. Remember, one of the principal, day-to-day responsibilities of the president is overseeing the executive branch of a global superpower. If a candidate can’t lead a functioning campaign team, it tells the public something important about his or her ability to oversee a White House.
    .
    .
Indeed, the New York Times reported two weeks ago that Team Trump is beset by “paranoia” and “confusion,” fueled by the candidate “setting up competition and infusing tension between his subordinates” on purpose.

If someone could let tehbernedout know much good he can do, and perhaps even balance out some of the harm he has done, (especially to his own sorry self, just he don’t know it!) by behaving maturely and constructively in the next few days and weeks. I’m sure the only person who might be able to penetrate tehbern’s ‘me, me, all about me’ mindset is PBO, the master of gracious human interaction. Otherwise, I suppose bern will go all the way into the oblivion which awaits him, kicking and screaming about the Future He Believes In. Bah.

Hello TOD…I’ve been volunteering for Hillary for the past month in NJ and there has been an ebb and flow in enthusiasm
when talking to people trying to get out the vote. However, like a miracle, there has been such a noticeable change
in enthusiasm ever since Hillary gave her FP speech taking down the clown DT. This past weekend the office was buzzing.
There were 25 Ladies who made the trip from various parts of NY State/City to come to our NJ office to knock on doors
and make phone calls. It was a thing of beauty. Apparently these ladies I am told go all over the country doing this for HRC.

I was there again yesterday and was feeling so positive when I left, only to hear the premature declaration of her winning
last night, which I must confess made me angry at the media. I feared this might depress turnout in NJ today. I was so upset
that I swore I was not going back to vol. today. But then I remembered the wise teachings of our PBO who always tells us
never to give up especially when things seem more difficult. So I will be back in the saddle again today…A big last day for NJ!

I will continue to work my heart out to protect my PBO’s legacy…and only Hillary is capable of carrying on all that he has done.
This OBOT for Hillary is now on her way out to go and vote.

    Love and Blessings.

Good day TOD! What a day for everyone here, and particularly for all of us women “of a certain age”! I was shocked at my own response last night when I got home and saw HRC was the presumptive nominee…..I started to cry. It’s been a long time coming. When I think back to these last many decades and the fight for so many things, it is in some ways hard to believe it took this long to have a woman as the nominee in either party. What a glorious day. I came of age when Roe v Wade was decided and was friends with the daughter of the doctor at issue in that case. That was just the beginning of the fight and we still are fighting for equal pay and so many other things. But this is a huge milestone and I will be sharing tonight with my 8 year old grand-daughter who will grow up believing she can be anything including the president of the United States. I hope everyone else here will enjoy this day as much as I intend to. And my heartfelt thanks to everyone here–and especially the men–who have supported this fight and will celebrate this victory.
