ā€œā€¦During that game, while his mother and grandmother were serving long prison sentences for drug-related charges, Thomas caught an 80-yard touchdown pass from Tim Tebow on the first snap of overtime to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers. In many ways, it marked a major chapter in his life. And this week has now done the same. In the shadows of national sports news about Thomas’ new five-year, $70 million contract with Denver, something else miraculous happened two days earlier in what might be one of the most rewarding three-day spans that a man can expect to ever experience….

…On Monday, President Barack Obama granted commutations to 46 federal prisoners locked up for non-violent drug charges, noting ā€œtheir punishments didn’t fit the crimeā€ and that they would have received lighter terms under new sentencing guidelines. In a press release from the White House, which lists those 46 names of otherwise unrecognizable citizens, the 33rd name is equally undistinguishable: Katina Stuckey Smith, sentenced to 292 months of prison for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine and cocaine base. Yes, Smith is Thomas’ mom. And she’s coming home to Thomas in November. ā€œThese men and women were not hardened criminals, but the overwhelming majority had been sentenced to at least 20 years,ā€ said Obama, invoking what he called one of the most profound powers of the Presidential office. ā€œFourteen of them had been sentenced to life for nonviolent drug offenses. So their punishments didn’t fit the crime.ā€ Thomas was in just the sixth grade when police raided his home to arrest his mother and grandmother, which means Nov. 15 (when the Broncos play the Chiefs in Denver) marks the first chance Thomas’ mother will have to watch him play football in person. To this point, she has only seen him play on a grainy prison television….continuedā€

ā€œENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — The Denver Broncos’ trip to the White House next week holds special meaning for one player in particular. The Super Bowl champions will visit the White House on Monday and wide receiver Demaryius Thomas plans to deliver a hand-written thank-you note to President Barack Obama for commuting his mother’s drug sentence last summer. Katina Smith was able to attend the Broncos’ 24-10 win over Carolina in Super Bowl 50 four months ago after Obama cut short her sentence as part of his push to reduce the prison population of non-violent drug offenders. ā€œI don’t know if I’ll say something to him. I might give him a letter,ā€ said Thomas, who figures it’s going to be a quick meet-and-greet and the president won’t have much time to chat with the champs. ā€œThere’s going to be a lot of people there, so I can’t waste his time.ā€ Thomas’ mother was released five years early from a minimum-security prison in Florida. She had been serving a 20-year sentence after refusing to testify against her mother, Minnie Pearl Thomas, who is serving life….continuedā€

Well, he can spew off whatever he wants now, but once HRC officially attains the delegates needed for the nomination, which will likely happen by Wednesday, he needs to end it all. I’m pretty sure PBO put him on notice about that.

Ah….getting a little hot under the collar:)

    http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2016-06-06/trump-orders-surrogates-to-intensify-criticism-of-judge-and-journalists

An embattled Donald Trump urgently rallied his most visible supporters to defend his attacks on a federal judge’s Mexican ancestry during a conference call on Monday in which he ordered them to question the judge’s credibility and impugn reporters as racists.
“We will overcome,” Trump said, according to two supporters who were on the call and requested anonymity to share their notes with Bloomberg Politics. “And I’ve always won and I’m going to continue to win. And that’s the way it is.”
There was no mention of apologizing or backing away from his widely criticized remarks about U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is overseeing cases against the Trump University real-estate program.
When former Arizona Governor Jan Brewer interrupted the discussion to inform Trump that his own campaign had asked surrogates to stop talking about the lawsuit in an e-mail on Sunday, Trump repeatedly demanded to know who sent the memo, and immediately overruled his staff.
“Take that order and throw it the hell out,” Trump said.
Told the memo was sent by Erica Freeman, a staffer who circulates information to surrogates, Trump said he didn’t know her. He openly questioned how the campaign could defend itself if supporters weren’t allowed to talk.
“Are there any other stupid letters that were sent to you folks?” Trump said. “That’s one of the reasons I want to have this call, because you guys are getting sometimes stupid information from people that aren’t so smart.”

It is wrong of me to want his entire fake world to come crashing down around him?

Remember that mother with the mask who had us laughing recently? šŸ˜•
    —————————————————————————————————————–

Let’s just say this worked out really well for Candace Payne.

Fewer than three weeks ago, she shot to internet fame with a video of herself laughing uncontrollably while wearing a Chewbacca mask.

The video is now the most watched Facebook Live video ever.

Not only did the mask sell out in stores almost immediately, but Payne started to get TV offers, gift cards from various retailers, trips and even scholarships for her children.

But how much is she making off of the 4 minute video?

Time’s Money estimates that she’s gotten about $420,000 in gifts since her video went viral. Below is a breakdown of what we know she’s received.

I sort of imagine President Obama getting Sanders on the phone and it going something like this:

POTUS: So hey, Bernie, what’s your endgame here.

BS: Mumbles some stuff about super delegates and shaking up the convention, yada, yada, yada.

POTUS: Bernie, that’s not an endgame.

    BS: What?

POTUS: I’m asking you how this all ends, Bernie. The math. The numbers. The 2383.

BS: Well, I have some lawsuits pending and that stuff in Puerto Rico wasn’t right. The people deserve better than corporate……

POTUS: Bernie, the endgame. You don’t have the numbers now and you won’t have the number then.

    BS: This is not over……..

POTUS: Bernie, I’m going to call you tomorrow and we’ll try this again. Do some homework. Talk to some people. Get back to me.

Cute snippet on local evening news of Evander Holyfield talking about the huge secret of who would light the Olympic cauldron at the 1996 Games in Atlanta:

“I asked if I could light that thing. They said ‘No, you can carry it, but you can’t light it.’ At the time, I didn’t say anything to them, but I said to myself ‘well, who in the world… in the State of Georgia, as an athlete would be a better choice than me?’ When I saw him light it, I said “Ohhh, shoot (shaking his head up & down)…um, yeh, they right!'”

The world agrees with you, Champ. They were right!

Who should be in jail again???

    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/florida-ag-asked-trump-for-donation-before-nixing-trump-u-lawsuit

WASHINGTON (AP) — Florida’s attorney general personally solicited a political contribution from Donald Trump around the same time her office deliberated joining an investigation of alleged fraud at Trump University and its affiliates

The new disclosure from Attorney General Pam Bondi’s spokesman to The Associated Press on Monday provides additional details around the unusual circumstances of Trump’s $25,000 donation to Bondi. After the money came in, Bondi’s office nixed suing Trump.

The money came from a Trump family foundation in apparent violation of rules surrounding political activities by charities. A political group backing Bondi’s re-election, called And Justice for All, reported receiving the check Sept. 17, 2013 — four days after Bondi publicly announced she was considering joining a New York state probe of Trump University’s activities.

It is now being reported that Sanders took a call from President Obama on Sunday, stopping his press bus and heading out of earshot of press and aides to speak.

    CBS News.

“The Vermont senator took the president’s call on the side of the road in the financial district in San Francisco, at around 2:30 p.m. ET. Atwood said that as the press bus drove by, Sanders could be seen standing on Market Street, legal pad in hand, as he talked on a cell phone.”
