There is a traffic event on the SB 405 in Long Beach. A stolen van has finally run out of gas. The CHP has stopped traffic behind the situation and will probably close the NB lanes.
I’m glad it ended peacefully and that those who were on the freeway didn’t have to suffer in traffic for a long period of time. He surrendered in about 15 minutes.
DF, since I’ve been involved in the Hillary campaign, I see the level of voter support for her and I’m quite encouraged that she will prevail and Trump will be a distant memory.
Next week, we begin the GOTV. All are welcome to go to Hillary.com and sign up to participate!
I appreciate that, GGail:) I think that she will prevail, but I really, really don’t want to have to hear months of this malarkey…I don’t know what bothers me more…his hateful mouth, or knowing that my fellow citizens support such a thing. Thank you, GGail…for doing the hard work:)
Df, I wholeheartedly agree with you about the Trump malarkey. And I especially don’t want to hear about aggrieved white males who feel that Trump expresses their angst. When I hear that stuff, it takes all of my strength not to tell them to get over themselves. Women and people of color have been aggrieved for centuries with good reason and no one spent their days whining about it. If the idea a female president makes men “uncomfortable,” they need to adjust to a changing world. Whatever their problem, Donald Trump is not the answer.
Agreed. I’m over the whiny ass titty babies…seriously. These are the same sob’s that whine for a cold. They need to get over themselves. Damn entitled whiners.
I feel that this is quite harsh and cavalier. No one that I know would want to have this weekend of the above due to the lives and sacrifices of Vets. I had cousins who fought in Vietnam and have not been the same as before they were drafted.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held out the prospect on Monday of reviving a 2002 Arab peace initiative that offers Israel diplomatic recognition from Arab countries in return for a statehood deal with the Palestinians.
Netanyahu’s comments were a formal response to a speech last week by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who promised Israel warmer ties if it accepted efforts to resume peace talks.
“The Arab peace initiative includes positive elements that can help revive constructive negotiations with the Palestinians,” Netanyahu said, echoing comments he made a year ago to Israeli reporters.
“We are willing to negotiate with the Arab states revisions to that initiative so that it reflects the dramatic changes in the region since 2002 but maintains the agreed goal of two states for two peoples,” he added.
Maybe Nets is thinking that the next President will indeed indulge his every whim and by doing so will isolate Israel even more in the world community. And maybe Nets is realizing that his last chance for peace rests with President Obama.
The Libertarian Party…disaffected GOPers…interesting…they are on the ballot in 50 states according to CNN…they seek to challenge to TRUMP and Hillary…

Libertarian National Committee chair Nicholas Sarwark spoke to press following the nomination process, discussing the Libertarian Party’s outreach and fundraising efforts. Sarwark said the party had established a “back channel” to the Koch brothers, in the hopes the wealthy libertarian-leaning funders donate to the Libertarian Party. Sarwark also said he had been speaking to Matt Kibbe, former president of conservative advocacy group Freedomworks, about supporting the party’s nominee.
Bill Kristol still looking for a 3rd party candidate that the 65% of Republicans who don’t support Trump can vote for….Would the Libertarian Party fit that bill…
Well I see that the Nova Wildcats will be at the White House tomorrow, as POTUS celebrate them winning the Men’s NCAA Championship. Well I won’t be watching, because Nova defeated my UNC Tarheels and it’s still alittle tough. I was so hoping Coach Williams and the Tarheels would be at the WH again before POTUS left. POTUS pick the Tarheels in 2009 to win it all and they won.
It’s more of Republicans lies. Tim Wise said that back in the fifties the tax rates were much higher then today, it was over 90%. So these Republicans are nothing but bold face liars.
The mother can still feel the touch of his hand
His wife can still hear his breathing next to her
The children remember the joyous morning kisses
The grandparents are lost, without him
He won’t return but then he never really left them
He lives in their memories, in their photographs
In their hearts, in their parades
His service was to a country of people
Sometimes not paying attention to his patrol
Often he served aboard a ship of fools
But he knew the goal. He knew the goal.
Agree w/ the author (who lives in CA24, Santa Barbara [before redistricting based on 2010 census, CD24 was my district]) that CA’s “jungle primary” is an abomination.
However, he is a bit misleading when he states that CA31 is “a heavily Democratic district in which two Republicans advanced to the general election due to Democratic voters splitting their votes among four other Democrats on the primary ballot (and it almost happened again two years later.)”
According to the Ballotopedia article linked to by Washington Monthly, CA31 is rated “D+2 [Cook Partisan Voter Index], which is the 179th most Democratic district in the country.” My CD26 has the same D2 rating, and no one would mistake it as being “heavily Democratic.” Before 2012 redistricting we had a long-time GOP rep (Elton Gallegly) and had an R4 rating.
The “jungle primary” system was supposed to make our elections less partisan, but as predicted, “the increase in competition also led to an increase in campaign spending, due to the fact that competition within political parties lasted for the entire year rather than ending after the primary. Experts predict that this will only increase the power of the special interest groups that fund the campaigns.”
There’s just too much money in politics and too many uninformed voters (those who rely on MSM for news). Think it’s too late to stop these GOP dirty tricks since the Jun 7 primary is almost here.
I have to admit – I don’t understand the Tiny House thing.
I don’t understand it for one person. I definitely can’t comprehend it for more than one person, or a couple with a child or with a pet. I didn’t think I was claustrophobic, but maybe I am. Because, I can’t understand how this could possibly work – ever.
To me, it’s like they’re all kidding themselves … until they’re inside one of those things for a couple of weeks, and then I picture them running out into the night, screaming.
A blessed day to all on this day may your fond memories of your loved ones be a source of comfort
I’m first, I’m first, I AM FIRST
😄 Congrats Anjou on First!
Well done, Anjo! I Thanks for your comforting wish.
Like we need another reason to vote against this guy….

Goo grief!
He surrendered peacefully. Thank goodness
Glad it happened today, I was on the 405 yesterday and would have been caught in that if it had happened then.
I’m glad it ended peacefully and that those who were on the freeway didn’t have to suffer in traffic for a long period of time. He surrendered in about 15 minutes.
Honestly…I can’t take months and months of this bs

Curiouser and curiouser….

A dagger to the heart 😣
I’M GOING TO HAVE TO TAKE MY COMPUTER BACK THIS WEEK…SOMEONE ELSE KEEPS USING IT…WITHOUT PERMISSION.
And how many of those with the high tax rate have Universal Healthcare and Free College?
Most of them
It’s more of Republicans lies. Tim Wise said that back in the fifties the tax rates were much higher then today, it was over 90%. So these Republicans are nothing but bold face liars.
Most of ’em always have been – always will be – because they’re only concerned about themselves and the almighty dollars in their pockets.
Maybe some of those RWNJs will volunteer to go with:
