For my phone banking support and efforts, I received a ticket this evening to attend the “She’s With Us Concert” for Hillary…
A day before the California primary, Ricky Martin, Christina Aguilera, Stevie Wonder, John Legend and Andra Day will headline a concert in support of Hillary Clinton.
The “She’s With Us” showcase will be held at Los Angeles’ Greek Theater on June 6 and will include remarks from the Democratic presidential hopeful. Ticket prices range from $45 for general admission to $1,000 to a “Madam President” ticket for $5,000 that includes a pit seat, express entry and star lounge access.
My ticket is for the $85.00 seats. I have no idea where that will be. Oh I hope I stay awake 🙂
Hahahaha! I was honored that they wanted to recognize my 2 days of leading the phone banking and data entry, but, this is on a work night and Stevie Wonder is the only artist that I would really be interested in seeing – but, again, not on a work night.
Congrats on the job you and your team did. With the likely level of noise music you may not feel well the day after, so would need to stay home. Also, too, maybe you could switch it for one of your days off this week. [trying to be helpful] 😀
Since the next day is Election Day and we get 2 hours off to vote, I will probably take advantage of the two hours in the morning. (Don’t tell my boss that my voting location is at my apartment complex leasing office) 🙂

I didn’t tell my community that I was going as (1) it was the last week of School tax discount period; and (2) I was an elected republican and the party big-wigs were already unhappy with me. However, as I was the state veteran’s co-chair, and on the state Rep for Obama advisory committee, I WAS NOT GOING TO MISS BE A PART OF HISTORY! I successfully ran my office via cell phone and email! I was a coordinator for the veteran’s service project, led by Mrs. Obama and the Obama Family&Friends. Damn if I didn’t get caught in a live shot with her Aunt Gwen. Needless to say, the DelCo rethugs were PI$$ED! My constituents — not so much — my republican town twice elected PBO and me (both times unopposed; ’09 as a repub; ’13 as a Dem)!
The early bird always catches the worm, but it would seem to me that worms are always available, morning, noon and night. So I really don’t know why we have relegated worm catching to mornings only.

It varies by State, but here’s CA law
California
Cal. Elec. Code § 14000
Time off work for voting: Up to 2 hours at beginning or end of shift, whichever gives employee most time to vote and takes least time off work.
Time off not required if: Employee has sufficient time to vote during nonwork time.
Time off is paid: Yes (up to 2 hours).
Employee must request leave in advance: 2 working days before election.
Seems reasonable
