Turns out it’s the whiny and the shouty middle class and the well to do educated in the biggest city with a turnout of around 55% who dragged down the overall state average, which was expected to be over 80% even till today morning. Assholes.

Well that was a very touching ceremony. Just the reading out of what those guys did to earn their medals is pretty chilling stuff. Way too many guns in this country along with way to many whackos. wish there was an easy solution to both.

    Thank you, Mr. President 🙂

    Interesting read..
What is clear is that, if elected to be our next president, Hillary Clinton’s approach to foreign policy will be different in some complex ways from what we’ve seen from Obama. But it is difficult for many of us to understand what that will look like if all we hear are either campaign soundbites or analysis that is limited to the assumptions dictated by the Washington playbook.

Very interesting read, perhaps President Obama does see America’s role in the world differently than does Hillary. I think that in President Obama’s tool chest, war is the last weapon to be used. By nature he seeks peace rather than war, he is always willing to go the extra mile just to avoid war whereas others might seek war as a means to an end. Only time will tell how Hillary goes about the business of doing foreign policy. But I will say this, Hillary has the benefit of making foreign policy decisions first hand with Bill and President Obama, she should know what works and what doesn’t work, so I expect her foreign policy decisions to be sound.

      • May 16, 2016 at 1:45 pm

I DON’T expect her foreign policy decisions to be sound.

        I simply don’t.

I have absolutely NO FAITH in her when it comes to American Foreign Policy.

I don’t think she’s learned anything watching President Obama.

ummm, okay, well, but, see what happened was. Rikyrah, I’m holding out hope that maybe some of President Obama’s wisdom might have made its way into her decision making process.

    The White House, Washington
A wise woman once said that one is not born a woman, but rather becomes one. What makes a woman? Strength. Resilience. Compassion. Beauty from within. When I think of what it means to be a woman, I stand a little taller because I know I stand on the shoulders of women who came before me and paved the way.

My mom, Diana Ross, is one of those women. She’s both nurturing and fierce, graceful and courageous. She set an example for me to be empowered, to have a voice, and to build a full life for myself. And there are countless other women who inspire and remind me of the individual and collective power of women.

Women are always breaking new records and forging new paths. We build on the accomplishments of those who came before us.

On June 14, the White House will host women from all over the country at the United State of Women Summit. We will celebrate extraordinary women who are creating change and growth in our world — women who are doing great things.

If there’s a woman in your life who inspires you like my mom has always inspired me, somebody who strives to help everybody around her achieve their greatest, we want her to be there. We want her to stand with President Obama and the First Lady.

Nominate someone you know to join the United State of Women Summit in Washington, D.C. on June 14. (You can even nominate yourself!)

I know there are so many women out there who are lifting up their friends, their neighbors, and their communities. We want to meet these incredible women.

Every woman who carves out a space for other women in her community or profession and every woman who raises her voice to fight for an issue she cares about is changing what it means to be a woman in America.

    Together, we are so powerful.

So hit us up: Tell us about someone in your life who should be at the Summit. And make sure to do it before nominations close at midnight!

    My report on yesterday’s events…

First: We have a lovely time celebrating our bardgal, Mz Tally. She was her usually bubbly & funny self and it was great to break bread with our jojo, Betsy, and purpleshoesla as well as our friends, Susan & JC (who’s birthday we also celebrated).

Then, I went to Coco’s Restaurant in Pasadena to do phone banking for Hillary. I arrived a little after 2pm. The start time was 1:30pm and I was pleasantly surprised to find the back room of Coco’s busy with people making calls!!! The mix of people were between 30 – 70 years old, Caucasian, AA, Hispanic, India, gay and not gay. As the afternoon wore on, more folks arrived. I was very happy to see the attendance grow!

Our call sheets were for the San Gabriel Valley area – so we had a large group of Hispanic and Asian registered voters on our lists.

I made a few calls while waiting for the internet service to locate my computer. During that time, I received several yes confirmations that they would vote for Hillary.

The one downer was the internet service. Coco’s has horrible internet service, so only two people could get the service at one time, which made it a little difficult for us to input the data when you have quite a few people making calls and only two people inputting the data results. I suggested that the Team Leader purchase a Net Zero service or find a better location. One of the leaders said they were hoping to meet again next Saturday and hopefully in a better location.

All in all, I’m encouraged by the efforts of the Team and look forward to contributing my skills and experience.

Hey GGail – I was looking to find your news earlier – it sounds encouraging – does it compare with what was happening this time in 2008 – despite the Berniebots and their ranting – from the outside everything seems much quieter than back then.

Hey 99ts, it is more low key than 2008, but, here in California, I expect the participation to grow. I was pleasantly surprised to see how many were there before I arrived and they kept coming. And the diversity made me proud to be a part of it. The lady from Indian descent, came dressed in her Saree.

Sounds good, thanks for the reply
I grew up in a small town where a large number of the population were of Indian descent. Their clothes were so colorful compared to the rest of us – and the one and only haberdashery/dress/everything shop in town did good business selling all the material 🙂

I love it when these hardcore Red states get kicked in the nuts by reality. The joy I get as they fall to their knees and squirm around on the floor as their brains try to process who kick them and why is immeasurable.

Is this the same Ileana Ros Lehtinen that didn’t give a fuck about the Haitians that fled their homeland to come to Miami for a better way of life many of whom drowned off the shores of South Florida? But since her son is affected all of a sudden she gives a damn. I watched her do business for years in Miami, she is a cold hearted piece of work.

Jane Sanders has also been managing Sanders campaign money, which is why BS will be laden with debt when this is all over. She likes to spend money she doesn’t have.

Rikyrah, I’m not afraid of Hillary Clinton’s foreign policy. She’s cautious and measured, and that means a measured foreign policy. And compared to Trump and the rest of the Republican Party, she isn’t interested in burning up a place just to make her look “macho”.

    This causes concern for me
If she’s elected president, Hillary Clinton says she’ll appoint her husband, Bill, to oversee the economy.

    • 62 jacquelineoboomer
      May 16, 2016 at 7:53 pm

Truthfully, I think the dumber move was to announce that before she won! That will turn off a lot of people, and Democrats can’t afford any more who have already decided not to vote. Bill’s handling the economy (which I’m not in favor of) is better than Trump’s handling of anything, but she needs to understand how some of her decisions are coming across, IMO.
