Well, in the wake of the NC bathroom kerfuffle, I just spent several minutes explaining the so-called law and the differences between transgender, trans-sexual, transvestite and hermaphrodite individuals to my 86 year old mother. While I am not so sure that she got all of it, I am happy that she was willing to be open-minded and to get the idea that gender identification is much more fluid than many think and that this is not something new in human history. I also mentioned our president’s and AG’s support of transgender individuals. We do live in interesting times.

Reason I like succulents is that they are hardy (in SoCal — not so much where it rains a lot 😦 ).
Unfortunately have many flowering plants who ended this way, even when I *did* pay attention to them. 😦
The best thing about my garden is that they’re all in containers, can move them wherever I’m in the mood, and soooo much better for my back than digging into the (clay, rock-hard soil) ground here.
It’s not really mine, but if I had one, that’s how it would look. I truly appreciate the people who do garden very much and the skill involved in doing it well. My Mom & Sister live in their gardens. I just never could get into it. I may have said this before, but I really have killed a cactus or two back in the day. Knew it just wasn’t my thing. 🙂
