Good morning,
I did. And thank you so much for everything.
Up early getting myself together for an early Workshop then a bridal shower later
Nerdy, thank you for this wonderful post.
Is it me? But our POTOUS and FLOTUS makes everyone standing next to them look drab and old.
(Even the young ones)…….
“On a table in the room is a stuffed dog that looks like Bo, the Portuguese Water Dog that lives at 1600 Pennsylvania. It was a gift from POTUS and FLOTUS previously, the press secretary [Jason Knauf, the press secretary for Kate and William] said.”
Prince was apparently a true humanitarian. Person after person have come forward to speak of his quiet generosity. Whether it was assistance to families of the slain or communities in need he was time after time there to give his assistance and never wanted any press or accolades for his generosity. He was a beautiful person and it makes me admire him even more. I knew when I witnessed him in concert that he was a musical genius but to understand in his death of the kind heart he had just makes me appreciate the man who was truly a Prince.
All of the formerly unknown stories (at least to most of us) have been so unique and uplifting, about him. Not sure if you saw it, but Ron Isley (of the Isley Brothers – used to listen to their songs as a teenager, big time) was on Don Lemon’s show tonight, discussing his relationship with him. His reach crossed many generations.
Ha! Steve or Stephen will be just fine (when he was little I called him Stevie … then they all reach the point where they get to be pre-teens and you can NEVER use that nickname again … NEVER! … so it’s been Steve ever since!).
My two sisters and I used to watch American Bandstand on the black and white teevee, when we got out of school (not to mention listening to them “on the radio”), and knew all of the groups of the time. And did our white-girl dances to ’em (Ha!). My older sister still does “the jitterbug” exactly the way she did it when I was in third grade, but I digress.
Especially when she sees the way they interact with the little one. It actually reminds me of Princess Di (the only Royal who ever interested me enough to keep an eye on) with her two young boys.
I disagree with part of that tweet. We had a very nice “revolution,” by voting in our current President, twice. One of the best revolutions we’ve ever had in this country!
Of course, I agree with the mid-term victories (or lack of, because Dems sat them out) part.
NerdyW, what a stupendous roundup of the First Family’s day. Thank you for covering so completely, multitude of hugs to you!
Yesterday I erroneously said that PBO’s meeting with students at the Royal Horticultural Hall would happen today — obviously read the article that I tweeted about wrong. 😳
Turns out his town hall will be at 2:45 am PDT (5:45 am EDT), about 6 hours from now. 😦
I really think that HRC will be inaugurated with majorities in both the Congress and Senate. Bitterly disappointed that this was not the case for PBO, but he has diligently and steadfastly laid the foundation for his Dem successor to overcome the bigoted ODS obstruction that PBO faced.
FWIW, if CA Dem/Latino registration surge continues at this rate, have to even start watching GOP Reps. Ed Royce #CA39 & Darrell Issa #CA49.
Damn, never heard anyone cover Black Sabbath like this. Feeling this with all the changes going on in 2016. Know my fellow TODers understand what I’m talking about:
Bo? When? How?
Congrats, AMK! Thanks for the photos from Merry England. Momentous Earth Day.
Prince Harry look like the odd man out. Time for Harry to fine him a princess.
Next Saturday 4-30-16 the last WHCD for POTUS and FLOTUS.
I’m sure if he were to announce he was actively looking, the stampede would be something to see. 😉
Prince Harry, is a true blue warrior. He has found the woman he wants, but he can’t have her. Full stop.
MtMarilyn and LDS please check your email. There is an update regarding our White House Tour.
Just got home will check now. Thank you.
Donna, thank you so much for your efforts on our behalf ❤
You’re Welcome. I so look forward to meeting you all.
I look forward to giving you a YUUUUUGE hug!
thankssss! thanksssss! thanksssss! thank you so much….I’m soooooooo exciteddddddddd…..smilin!!!

Oh Nerdy this is beautiful! Thank you!
I have to eat some dinner now but I am going to enjoy all this tonight before bed on my iPad 🙂
You’re welcome, MadameSoph! 😀
What a feast for the eyes. Thank you NW for all the wonderful posts on Prince and of course the Obama’s.
🙂
Hilarious watching “The Beast” do a 5-point turn around in that narrow street. Well done driver 🙂
Just finish listening to afew Prince’s songs. I wonder why Prince and Michael Jackson never work together? That would have be a-ma-zing.
NW, thank you for this visual feast!
Is that dog a toy or is it real? I can’t tell 🙂

It’s a stuffed Bo toy.
Indeed! It’s really a shame that so many Americans don’t know about Prince’s profound contributions to music and theatre!

JOB, you are a wealth of surprises…the Isley Brothers? OMGoodgracious!!!! You Go Girl 😀 😀
And I will remember that your son’s name is Steve, not Steven 🙂

Someone smart once said “we have more in common than differences”
Yep. Think I know the guy. Someone smart also said “here’s the real American Bandstand footage” !!!
Lovely photos! Mrs. Obama’s heels are to-die-for. ❤
🙂
This is too funny…
I love the fact that little Prince George was allowed to “stay up past his bedtime” to see the President and Mrs. Obama.
Not sure if this story was posted earlier (just getting here), but apparently the rocking horse was a gift from the Obamas. Too cute!

Thanks for this link, JO’B. I liked the little album of baby pics for George below the article. Little kids are so cute. 🙂
He looks just like his dad did when he was little, and Princess Diana was around. She would have been so proud!
Especially when she sees the way they interact with the little one. It actually reminds me of Princess Di (the only Royal who ever interested me enough to keep an eye on) with her two young boys.
Reminds me of her, too. She always seemed like a loving mom, to me.
Yep, she did! One of the things I liked about her was her *naturalness* with children.
This says it all.
Great pic. Great quote. Is that his great granddaughter ?
Or granddaughter? Whichever, she sure does favor him in the face, doesn’t she 🙂
look, I was going for the great meme, ok? great gd it is. the feller just gotta take it.
You’re over ruled – ha!
I think I heard granddaughter earlier, but not sure!
also. too fucking committed voters.

Exactly!
😀 😀 😀 #tod
Well, there’s a perfect answer for ya!
What a fabulous post! Thank you, NW, for those wonderful photos. Photos and subjects are just so awesome!
Some stats about fav/unfav of the aspiring POTUS.
You’re welcome.

One more item before I retire for the evening.

So very true, arapaho! And I hope Issa is soon gone with the wind.

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Prince wasn’t a tall man but he was always big in stature — especially on stage.
His signature high-heels helped — literally.
Randy Paige reports that Prince was much more than a music icon. Prince also set fashion trends as the prince of style.
The jackets, pants, the ensembles. And the shoes.
Since the beginning of the 80s, the shoes were designed and made on Sunset Boulevard — at Andre No. 1.
The owner told Paige that nearly all of Prince’s 3,000 pairs of shoes are identical — with the exception of color.
Each pair had to match the fabric and color of the clothes he was wearing.

Wonderful pics! I am off to bed haaaappy. Thank you Nerdy. FLOTUS looks amazing.
OMG! Was just catching up on Colbert and saw this incredible funktasticness. How have I never heard of this guy before?
