President Barack Obama speaks at the University of Chicago Law School in Chicago, Illinois. He addressed his U.S. Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland as he hopes members of the Republican party will give Garland a hearing and a vote
Thanks for the post and for bringing this subject over. I wasn’t able to follow the news closely today but heard the outcry against Bill Clinton about his handling of BLM. Though I very much support the spirit of BLM, I haven’t been convinced of all the strategies used. Furthermore, I do remember the period in which the “predator” comment was made and could not completely distance myself from it in all honesty, for I have seen plenty of victims, innocent young Blacks fell for no reason.
Thank you so much, Nerdy Wonka for exposing the hypocrisy and stupidity of these so called progressives. Thom Hartmann’s hero is Thomas Jefferson, a slave owner who promoted the pseudo-scientific theory of white superiority and black inferiority. I never once heard Hartmann criticize the hypocrisy of his hero. Now he wants a Black president to apologize for slavery?
Funny Bernie says he is both talking and walking as that is my complaint about Bernie. He has been talking the talk for years, but never brings any bills forward or builds coalitions to do anything about his complaints so I say he does not walk his talk. Why then does he think he does? Guess his whole premise is build upon his small donor contributions and not taking big money from corporations. Funny how that is a similar brag as the Donald makes. I think of that as allowing a rich guy to buy the election for himself! That used to be something not applauded.
His attitude and the response that he gave once again reminds people of one of the major reasons that they were leery of Hillary’s run. Bill cannot be controlled. Everything is about him, he cannot deal with dissent, and he thinks A-A people should be subservient to him and grateful for his patronage. Young people do not give a f**k about him and many older ones, after seeing PBO have realized how much harm Bill did when he was in office. Furthermore, his pivot about Black lives in Africa matteringm what does that have to do with Black Americans? It really galls me how he and Bush ran to Africa, mostly to salvage their reputations and because it is easier to deal with people that have not been oppressed on your own shores. Why should I care about what he has done in Africa? I am an American. Bill was at his worst finger-wagging, red-faced, offensive and defensive self. He will lose Hillary many votes.
I could not bring myself to even learn what he said today at that rally, once I heard there was a brouhaha … cannot stand him. Don’t know how I’m going to stand looking at him back in D.C., next year.
Eight years of his presidency, a whole bunch of Democrats stood behind him, myself included. Totally behind him. He lost me back in SC in 2008. She did, too, but she turned it around, by supporting and working for President Obama – and now saying positive things about him … allowing many of us to hang in there, once again, once she got back on the national stage (although it took me maybe longer than some). I think now I can handle her.
But him? That’s why mute buttons were invented.
Maybe he’ll agree to be U.S. Ambassador to Antarctica or somewhere. He can check on global warming, and report back.
Not that I care anything about loony-tunes B. S., but why not ask the repubs. this question? They have dished out the worst mud-slinging that I have ever seen.
That makes Sanders (if he reacts to something he heard via the media and didn’t probably check it out) sound like Trump’s saying he gets his views of the world and foreign policy backgrounders by watching the generals on the cable news shows, or whatever he said!
I know PBO is so happy to have Malia, who he told Ellen is “one of my best friends,” on this trip with him. This bonding time for just the two of them may help him to deal better when she leaves home for college.
And I have spent the entire afternoon noting my heart filled with delight for Malia having this time with her Dad, and he with her! It is just so right!!
One of the things we love about President Obama is that he gets the job done. But he does so quietly and systematically so we often don’t hear about his profound achievements. But WOW, this one is HUGE.
I listen to Jane Sanders for afew minutes and I came away saying is this the woman that guy wrote about in that article in Huff Puff were he said America need a First Lady who represent them and Jane Sanders is that FL. I’m very satisfied with the First Lady we have had for seven years. Just sorry she can’t remain for four more years.
I watched and felt like Jane was there to whitewash her husband’s mistake. She said they had been hearing Clinton’s surrogates saying on tv shows that their strategy was to paint him unsuitable for office. I never heard any of that in watching several MSNBC shows. Sounded like an excuse. Rachel said Hillary never said that and it was the reporter from WP that said it and why did Bernie say it about her? Jane actually said he should not have said that. That seemed to be the only time she was not defending Bernie. She quickly went back on defense though.
Just got off the phone with my brother, who is a registered Republican in CA but voted for PBO twice. He asked me between Trump or Cruz, who would do the most damage to the GOP and who Hillary could smash in the general? LOLOLOLzzzzz!!
I have been an avid Idol fan for all fifteen seasons so am enjoying the show. I taped it and am watching it behind the time. Some of the previous contestants are doing really well in the performances.
To think Malia will be 18 years old July 4th. I wonder if POTUS and FLOTUS will give her a big birthday ball at the White House to celebrate her 18th. And this time let her wear a gown that cost $50,000. Let her walk down the stairs like a Princess. And let the right wing racists haters have a dam fit. 🙂
Good Evening.
The bloody nerve. The motherfreaking bloody nerve!!!!!
the white privilege shit showing up again.

continuing on the latter topic…

I didn’t have a chance to listen to POTUS’s town hall today and will do so now. Happily!!!
Is it take your daughter to work day?

Al Roker will interview FLOTUS and it will be on the Today show tomorrow morning.

And I so wish you could walk solo… all the way to Vermont!
He’s forgetting when he was a bag man collecting funds for Dems at corporate lobbyist fundraisers at Martha’s Vineyard.

GE NerdyW, endless thanks for stepping up and keeping this haven running while Chips’ Mum recuperates.
Bill Clinton has a real ego problem, can’t think beyond himself.
More on WJC today. His outburst was directed at protesters of his Crime Bill.
What is it Bill Clinton said?
There you go, Sanders. You’ve just written a great GOP ad! Who says you don’t know what you’re doing? Well, I do, for one.
WOOT!! Welcome to California, POTUS and Malia!!
Not that I care anything about loony-tunes B. S., but why not ask the repubs. this question? They have dished out the worst mud-slinging that I have ever seen.
Therefore, as POTUS, what else the media will make BS do?
But you loved the same media when it gave you all the attention.
I will give Hillary this. She has been wise to keep the fucking emmessem at an arm’s distance.
He never takes any responsibility.
So why does he continue to repeat he same lie??
That makes Sanders (if he reacts to something he heard via the media and didn’t probably check it out) sound like Trump’s saying he gets his views of the world and foreign policy backgrounders by watching the generals on the cable news shows, or whatever he said!
So glad they were there!
Just sayin’!!
Oh lord, here I go again. Clippers, GSW, Clippers, GSW 🙂
THIS IS ADORABLE in a million ways!!
I know PBO is so happy to have Malia, who he told Ellen is “one of my best friends,” on this trip with him. This bonding time for just the two of them may help him to deal better when she leaves home for college.
I also LOVE that she was there today with him during his event at the Law School.
Time…feeling it pass is one thing but seeing it pass in photos like this is heartwarming.
He’s just the best father. And she is his daughter. Even after all their sacrifices, beautiful.
This is a Dad who knows that moments like this won’t come as often as they used too. Take advantage of them while you can.
Ok I keep shut usually. Love this guy. Love Michelle. Love their family. Done.
❤
come on, old man. play catch up.
And I have spent the entire afternoon noting my heart filled with delight for Malia having this time with her Dad, and he with her! It is just so right!!
THERE ARE NO WORDS SWEET ENOUGH TO MELT OVER THIS………………………….
Love this photo.
MIND BLOWING right here:
He mentioned some of that while in Chicago today. Bravo, Mr. President.
One of the things we love about President Obama is that he gets the job done. But he does so quietly and systematically so we often don’t hear about his profound achievements. But WOW, this one is HUGE.
And a BFD!
PBO says what he means and means what he says and brings it all into stunning reality.
Jeffrey Goldberg is on Lawrence’s show tonight, talking about the article he wrote about President Obama (The Obama Doctrine; The Atlantic).
Did you watch Rachel interview Jane Sanders Jacqueline? I did not watch. I only watched O’Malley.
No, missed her show and will watch it later. Martin O’Malley was on? Will check it out.
I’m not into Jane Sanders, so I will probably skip that part.
Yes, Martin was on. He is not endorsing anyone at this point. He will wait until nominee is chosen.
Sounds like he’s looking forward to being “in the game” again in the future, and doesn’t want to make waves.

I did the same. The moment the Doctor announced that Comrade Jane Sanders was going to be on her show, I quickly turned to Family Feud.
Ha!
I’m just seeing this, from yesterday, but John Dingell’s at it again! 🙂
He is comical.
Hahahahaha, and on that note, I’m going to say good night TOD 🙂
Dingell is a hoot!
Just got off the phone with my brother, who is a registered Republican in CA but voted for PBO twice. He asked me between Trump or Cruz, who would do the most damage to the GOP and who Hillary could smash in the general? LOLOLOLzzzzz!!
Trump!
Tough choice, really. I’d LOVE to see Trump lose CA and then on to a horrific display of insane proportions at their convention!
Cruz!

I LOVE MY PRESIDENT!
LOVE fundraiser President Obama:
Continuity….
POTUS is warning Ds and so called Ds, those Ds one can find in the BS camp, I will say.
From earlier today…
Check it out! 😀
FLOTUS’ tweet upon returning home today…
guess some one has been chewing the ears of bs.
Can you imagine what a treat it must have been to be a student in his class? Wow!
🙂
Unbelievable that this keeps happening!
I wish he would stay in Rome and lead his revolution there…
hopefully he will keep his fat accusatory fingers deep inside his pant pockets.
Morning
