I’m struck by her extraordinary beauty and it’s universality. And yes Sasha Fierce is on break. What I love is her Dad’s response. He just keeps it moving.
Yep, its the no cigar position. Yeah, yeah the President visited Cuba but there’s still an embargo and there’s still this and that. I swear the whiny loony left never met progress that they didn’t diminish. I think they live for diminishing.
That Edward-Isaac Dovere, is projecting his pessimistic nature on President Obama. He speaks as though PBO wasn’t aware of the weather. Think about that for a minute.
Not sure this has been mentioned already, but CNN is playing “Cuba: Forbidden Island” – as part of The Wonder List with Bill Weir second season opener. Similar scenes as in an Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown visit to Cuba show, which was on recently.
I love him (although I’m always thinking he looks like he needs a shower, if ya get my drift!). He packs his shows with so much culture, in addition to his chowing down, as I’m sure you know!
He once was appearing near where we lived in Florida. My son loves to cook and I asked if he wanted me to buy him tickets to see Anthony. He said, “No. What would he do … show videos of food? Now, if you asked if I’d like to sit down and have a beer with him, well, yes – I would.” I think I’d like that, too!
Hahahaha, yeah I get it! I haven’t seen his shows but I have them in my Netflix queue. I did actually see him in person once. He gave a talk in a very small room at Sur La Table years ago and I was sitting in the front row. He was pretty handsome, I must say. And he appeared to have showered! LOLz.
Did you join him for a beer, after? (You don’t have to answer that!) I like the guy he hangs with sometimes – was in the Parts Unknown show on Marseilles I saw recently! They have so much fun together.
His friend’s name is chef Eric Ripert. You may know him? Here are parts of the Marseilles episode (they’re both in one of them). And then I’ll stop sending you links on this topic!
Love Eric Ripert. I follow him on twitter and Instagram and he just returned from a spiritual trip to India. My nephew has his cookbooks and he’s cooked me meals from them and it’s all WOWish. GRAZIE.
I’m not “into” cooking at all, as I may have mentioned (I always say it skipped a generation – my son’s a self-taught gourmet, because of it!). Truth be told, I just think ol’ Eric’s cute, and he and Anthony have fun together. 🙂
Particularly liked the Marseilles episode with both of them in it.
Is that where Ernest Hemingway used to dine/drink? Saw on the show on CNN tonight there’s a life-sized statue of him on a barstool in his favorite bar!
Obviously, there are “miles to go” before anybody can sleep on it, but it really is truly amazing. Too bad it had to be “amazing,” but we have to celebrate President Obama’s achievements, in any event.
From my friend Alan’s newsletter, issued today from Lisbon:
“March 23: Full Moon eclipse at 3.17 Libra/Aries at 12.02pm; Mercury conjunct the Sun (and opposed the Moon at the time of the eclipse); Jupiter/Saturn square exact at 16.23 Virgo/Sagittarius.
If you have them on file, I would suggest you refer to my newsletters for Libra (entry 9/28) and Capricorn (entry 12/25) 2015. In these passages I am discussing the previous lunar eclipse at 4.40 Aries/Libra and the Full Moon at 3.20 Cancer/Capricorn. This lunar eclipse is the culmination of this series of three Full Moons. If the first 5 degrees of the cardinal signs are important in your chart this particular eclipse/lunation will “seal the deal.” What this means for you specifically can only be shared via an interpretation of your map, but what I can say in a general and hopefully helpful way is the following: An eclipse is the end of one set of circumstances and the opportunity to begin another cycle of manifestation in the area of the chart where these eclipses and lunations occur. Obviously eclipses in Libra/Aries point to dynamics in relationships. Where these relationships occur is relative to the natal house positions. Eclipses or lunations in Cancer/Capricorn speak about our sense of security and/or our social position. I cannot be more specific than this without knowing the chart under discussion.
This particular eclipse also involves the exact conjunction of Mercury to the Sun in simultaneous opposition to the Moon. The signs are Aries/Libra and thus the heavens tell us that the need for clear communications in relationship is absolutely essential. It is very possible that an important message has to be given to one’s partner and/or such a message needs to come from the partner to us that in its delivery will change some essential factor in the relationship. This can be a professional (4th/10th house) as well as a personal partnership (1st/7th house); it can also be a message from or to a friend or a child (5th/11th houses), a parent (4th/10th house), etc.” http://www.alanoken.com
My note: Anyone may subscribe to the monthly newsletter, of course it is free to everyone. Alan also has a lively FB page, some excellent discussions happen there.
Children fleeing war in Iraq are being taught football by Arsenal, who have teamed up with Save the Children to build pitches at camps for displaced people. The Victoria Derbyshire programme accompanied the club’s ladies’ captain Alex Scott as she trained with some of the children.
The tragedy of children forced from their homes by war and the wealth and vast fame of a Premier League club may not have much in common. But Arsenal say they hope this project will help children in the worst of circumstances experience the joy of football.
Esra, whose name has been changed, fled her home near Baghdad when the conflict gripping Iraq came to her front door. She left behind a large home, with a garden that she used to tend to with her dad, and now lives in a cramped two-roomed caravan in Alwand One camp in Kurdistan, northern Iraq, which is home to more than 6,000 people.
……………………………………
The two bright green artificial pitches provide an oasis of colour in the dusty brown landscape around the two camps, giving the children a safe space to play.
So far 2,500 children have had the chance to play on the pitches.
I just want to thank you all for the photos and videos.
I’ve missed it all tonight as we had very sad news here. I know that many of you pray, so I am asking tonight for some prayers for some folks. My eldest son’s ex-girlfriend, the mother of two of my grandchildren.. committed suicide today. It is devastating news and so heartbreaking. My grandchildren don’t know yet, and I have no idea how my son will be able to tell them. He is pretty broken up. And her poor parents and family. Anyway, I’m sorry to share such awful news, but I’m just so terribly sad for everyone. Thank you.
OMG, ((( sherijr ))), what devastating news for everyone, but especially for your precious grandchildren.
I’ve known of similar circumstances (i.e., the husband of my boyfriend’s sister, many years ago), but to have to inform the children… so, so, sorry to hear this — can’t wrap my head around how someone with children could impose such tragedy and loss on them.
Prayers and strength to you and your family. Your life has been turned upside down too, you’ll need to make even more time to be there for your grandchildren. 😦
((((Arapaho)))) thank you.. and I am sorry for your loss also. I believe she was in a great deal of mental and emotional pain… more pain and darkeness than she had hope or light. My heart breaks for her to be in such turmoil as to make this choice. And yes many lives have been changed for a long time to come. Again, thank you.
I am so sorry sherijr, my prayers to you, your son, her parents and of course her sweet children. There are no words that can express our sorrow but know your TOD family have our collective virtual arms around you {{{{hugs}}}.
I’m so sorry Sherijr. Just praying now and will continue to visualize light, strength and love around your son, your grandchildren and their mother. May they find healing and comfort in this world and may she find it beyond the veil. {{{{{sherijr}}}}}
Thank you, Amk. The kids were told yesterday.. they are 7 and 10 yrs old.. it will take time to sink in. It will take time for everyone. Again, thank you so much.
Oh, Sheri, this is tragic news and my heart goes out to your grandchildren and your son. Will pray for your and your family. Please accept my deepest condolences.
Oh, sherijr, what horrible news. Sending you lots of love and strength as you and your family deal with this terrible tragedy. May your son and grandchildren find a way to cope with this sad, sad reality. I know you will do your best for them. We will all be keeping you in our thoughts.
This just may be the most important website in the world right now. Thank you so much Lady Chips and Nerdy and all bt’s and commenters. I was struck by a contrast in feeling last night when I was reading here about the Cuba visit, and when I took a look at a few other sites to check in on other news. Here people were basking in the moment, drinking in the sheer pleasure of what was taking place. Everywhere else this visit was almost a minor happening and it was Trump, violence, spite, scandal, and wash rinse repeat. On the day this wonderful thing happens I saw the lefty world proclaiming there was no cigar (cute) from the visit because it didn’t solve everything. There should be jubilation but instead there were doomsday diatribes, there were dismissals of all the historic change and a focus on beating down the Clinton voters. Yikes. I don’t read right wing media so I didn’t get to hear their flaming of the trip but I am sure it will be out there soon even where I read, at least stories about the reactions.
So in summary, this site is doing something extraordinary. Its keeping us focused, eye on the prize. That will have a tremendous downstream effect as we all need that to keep on keeping on. Also its fun here and that’s always good.
GM and prayers for Sherijr for your loss. May you find comfort from your friends here at TOD and other family members. Will be sending love to you and your family. There really are no words for such a tragedy. ((((hugs)))).
Thank yooooooou Nerdy!
Well, hello there Madame First! 🙂

Congrats, Chips and Nerdy for a wonderful first day documentary of #ObamasinCuba!
That picture is one for the history books…PBO in Cuba, with Old Honest Abe looking on….
SIGH
Looks like Sasha Fierce is having a teenager with parents kind of day. 😉
I’m struck by her extraordinary beauty and it’s universality. And yes Sasha Fierce is on break. What I love is her Dad’s response. He just keeps it moving.
Susan Rice documenting!!
POTUS is happy.
Beautiful picture of PBO.
Has the whiny loony left started b&m’ing yet?
Yep, its the no cigar position. Yeah, yeah the President visited Cuba but there’s still an embargo and there’s still this and that. I swear the whiny loony left never met progress that they didn’t diminish. I think they live for diminishing.
I think FLOTUS and Sasha is sick of that rain.
or they are doing another leg of the tour?
dinner time for them
beebs fp. world is watching.
contrast this with gopolitico
right, rains is the real complication.
That Edward-Isaac Dovere, is projecting his pessimistic nature on President Obama. He speaks as though PBO wasn’t aware of the weather. Think about that for a minute.
GE/GM RanMan.
Shockingly, this article by Isaac Devore doesn’t have the usual #BlameObama spin that every. other. article by him that I’ve read has had.
Glowing assessment, actually.
“A little rain never hurt anyone.” Who dares to post a wet PBO pic?? 🐻
I thought I would share. These are the amazing people that allow me to love what I do….
Not sure this has been mentioned already, but CNN is playing “Cuba: Forbidden Island” – as part of The Wonder List with Bill Weir second season opener. Similar scenes as in an Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown visit to Cuba show, which was on recently.
oh, I need to see Bourdain chow down in Cuba.
I love him (although I’m always thinking he looks like he needs a shower, if ya get my drift!). He packs his shows with so much culture, in addition to his chowing down, as I’m sure you know!

No! I should watch his shows because I love the whole cultural picture along with the food.
Sometimes there are risks associated with some of the places he travels … it matches his personality (and I think his previous life!).
His friend’s name is chef Eric Ripert. You may know him? Here are parts of the Marseilles episode (they’re both in one of them). And then I’ll stop sending you links on this topic!

He’s also just a really nice guy. Some chefs are real jerks. I mean REAL jerks.
The kind you’ve wanted to … shall we say … give a dash of food poisoning to? Joking, of course.
LOLz

Thank you so much Chips & Nerdy for the fantastic all-day coverage of President Obama and family in Cuba. The photos from Cuba were so beautiful.
Obviously, there are “miles to go” before anybody can sleep on it, but it really is truly amazing. Too bad it had to be “amazing,” but we have to celebrate President Obama’s achievements, in any event.

I’ve decided not to complain about the weather anymore, so this is just an observation.
Oh, look, it’s 37 degrees outside, now, on the First Day of Spring, here in River City, and will be 29 degrees overnight.
