I think in the end the Republicans will choose John Kasich as their nominee, Trump has overplayed his hand. He has made himself useless the Republicans. Kasich’s one redeeming value is that he’s less crazy than both Cruz and Rubio. And in the end Hillary will promptly hand Kasich his ass in the general election. Afterwards I will leave TOD and return to my life of solitude and contemplation.

When historian Michael Beschloss (on MSNBC) has to go back to the racist segregationist George Wallace campaign for a precedent to Trump’s run …

    Hey, you built that, GOP.

Hillary Clinton credited Ronald and Nancy Reagan on Friday with starting a “national conversation” about HIV and AIDS — only to retract her comments hours later.

“While the Reagans were strong for stem cell research and finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease, I misspoke about their record on HIV and AIDS. For that, I’m sorry,” she said in a statement issued on Friday afternoon.

The retraction came amid an online furor that exploded when Clinton praised the Reagans’ legacy on HIV/AIDS during a TV interview at Nancy Reagan’s funeral.

Rachel is saying she thinks all of this is “on purpose” by Trump and his campaign … and will make her case, coming up on her show.

She’s turning into one courageous anchor, over these last months, and I applaud her. (And believe me there were months and months in the past when I didn’t.)

    • March 11, 2016 at 9:40 pm

She’s right. Everything Trump does is orchestrated.

exactly! So glad she’ll speak to that. Too many folks act like he can’t control things.. it’s just getting out of hand. oh hell no, this man is all about causing this sort of chaos and mayhem. He wants folks attacking each other.

The hypocrite Cruz thinks his own form of bigotry is better than Trump’s. They are alike in their preaching of hatred, exclusion, racism and misogyny. Two bigots in a pod.

Actually, when I heard Trump talking to Tweety it dawned on me Trump is pivoting to sanity in his tone and thesis that he made a good decision to postpone the rally thereby saving everyone from this extreme anger from the Left that has bubbled up over many years of unemployment and no raises. Trump to the rescue! Snark.
As Rachel showed in her show tonight he may have purposely set this environment up for political gain.

Just watched the President land at Love Field in Dallas. My son and family get to be in the same city with the president tonight. That makes me feel good. Dallas is a blue city, like Austin. The mayor is an excellent person, and the office is non-partisan, but I happen to know he is a Democrat.

All cable stations are playing this nightmare on a loop with DT blaming others when he created this atmosphere of hate. The media perpetuates it with wall to wall coveragw and little challenge. I do not believe DT created this mess or if he did it has gone horribly wrong. I predict more of this in NY, CA, WA, and maybe TX or FL. Someone will get killed unfortunately.

As Dr Phil likes to say the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. When Trump tries to change his behavior for the General Election his past behavior needs to be shown. Yay, Rachel. Keep those video clips coming!

Hopefully Trump won’t make it to the general, after today. We shall see. But I’m not giving up hope!

        • March 12, 2016 at 1:34 am

Judging by the comments on the article I read in the Atlantic, his supporters are solidly behind him, blaming the protesters, saying there hasn’t been any violence. I only hope it puts off some people who are not yet fully committed and wake up the Sanders supporters who swear to vote for him rather than Clinton. The comments were really disturbing. There’s so much ugliness in some people.

Thanks Nerdy for posting this wonderful set of photos of our President’s day at the Austin SxSW event!! 🙂

I found myself becoming teary-eyed while looking at some of the pictures – in almost every one of the restaurant pics, you can see people in the background smiling even if they’re not the focus of the camera or the President’s attention. The positive energy that this man’s presence generates is just a thing to behold. I’m just savoring his time left with us as President….

I have a question, why don’t Trump’s wife and children tell him or ask him to stop this crap? I have a feeling I know the answer, none of them would dare say anything to Trump. The children will be scared he would kick them out of the will and Melania scared he would divorce her.
