Check out “The People’s View” this morning for all the ways that Bernie is toast after last night’s caucus wins. This contest be over on March 15, at which point Bernie’s only staying in the game for the donations and to further undermine Hillary. Since he’s running and as an INDEPENDENT in his 2018 Senate re-election bid in Vermont, his commitment to the Democratic Party is nonexistent. Unfortunately, Bernie supporters, particularly those I know, will not go quietly into the night and will spend the next several months whining at every opportunity.

    • March 6, 2016 at 8:40 am

The media using phrasing like, “Sanders wins more states, but Clinton wins more delegates,” does not help…especially when a lot of the more vocal Berniebots don’t understand how the process works. It just feeds into their belief that the process is not fair and gives ammunition to Bernie’s “us vs the establishment” rhetoric.

      • 23 jackiegrumbacher
        March 6, 2016 at 8:57 am

Sw, you know the media is going to stir up controversy, especially if it feeds the delusion that Hillary is ‘lacking.’ This is all going to be over soon with so many delegate rich states coming up on March 15 where Hillary has an over ninety percent change of winning. People can go on dreaming, but reality will pass them by.

I have to say that while I have no ill feelings towards Senator Sanders, too many of his supporters are atrocious and have expressed racist sentiments towards Black voters.

I really hope that he encourages his supporters to vote for Secretary Clinton in November and that he actively campaigns on her behalf in the general election period. He should state forcefully that if you voted for him in the primaries but are willing to vote for Trump or Cruz, you are useless and evil and no true supporters of progressive politics.

Thanks 99ts. I was watching C-Span this morning to see what the poison that was on there. I lasted all of 5 minutes. Trump callers were just so damned stupid. I will go back and read TPV later. I am really getting a little nervous about the Hillary emails. They put that up almost over every other email or Twitter comment on C-Span. This is going to get really nasty now that she will be the front runner. God save us from the ignorant.

    • March 6, 2016 at 8:49 am

When it’s already been proven that the emails were not classified when she received them and/or forwarded them…and when it has been noted that other SoS’s — Powell and Rice — have used private servers…and that there has been no indication that her server was hacked…

For me continued focus on the emails comes under the same category as Benghazi…political attacks with the goal of negatively impacting HRC’s bid for the presidency. If the goal were anything else — for the email or Benghazi — the focus would have been on the process and how the process needs to be improved; not wrong-doing by an individual.

      March 6, 2016 at 9:03 am

Roberta, Hillary has had to deal with nasty attacks for as long as I can remember. Remember when she as even accused of ‘murdering’ Vince Foster? And how many millions were wasted on the Whitewater nothingburger? Somehow, these ‘big scandals’ don’t seem to diminish her, but make her stronger. The media will do everything in its power to undermine Hillary and Stoke up the Republican candidate. That’s the terrain we operate with and we need to understand it and fight back.

        March 6, 2016 at 10:12 am

I know what you are saying and I know that is what is going on, but I just got sick to my stomach this morning. There is a reason I haven’t watched C-Span for ever. But this is just ridiculous. It is really ickee to me.

      March 6, 2016 at 10:26 am

Secretary Clinton did nothing wrong with her emails though so there is no “scandal” there. Republicans will fail if that’s all they have to talk about in the general elections. Talking about her emails isn’t going to get her supporters or independents who fear a Trump or Cruz Presidency from voting for her.

Good morning, Chips, NW, and TODville.

I can’t believe the mess our voting rights are in. This is what voter suppression looks like:

    • 58 jackiegrumbacher
      March 6, 2016 at 9:11 am

Meta, when something like this was attempted in PA, we realized we had to handle it at the local level. We each had to know the voting requirements and had to set up rides to the DMV or wherever people had to go to get their IDs in our county. We had to set up funds for those who couldn’t afford the birth or marriage certificate copies and we had to reach out to voters to ask how many were affected by the laws. The Hillary campaign can be a big help on this in Wisconsin. They have the most up to date voting lists and their volunteers can begin the calling now to see who needs help. We eventually had our voter ID law rejected by our state court, but we were prepared to go if we had to. Also, the issue made a lot of people angry, which spurred them to get out to vote.

      • March 6, 2016 at 9:24 am

I’m so glad you responded to this because I’m very frustrated about it and I’ve been thinking to ask for your ideas because you’re such a great community organizer. Your suggestions about what to do are fantastic. I guess the question is, how do we get them to DO IT? We’re seeing lower DEM voter turnout and we’re also seeing that much of it is due to new voter suppression laws. We have to fix this!! I’d be happy to phonebank for this because people obviously need help.

    Not just Europeans….

In a radio interview with John Catsimatidis, Blair was asked his opinion on the presidential race and responded by laughing. Catsimatidis asked if he was laughing because of the “entertainment value” of Trump’s candidacy.

“The entertainment value is high, and there is a certain, I have to say, level of anxiety as to what’s happening to America, the most powerful country in the world — it really matters,” Blair responded.

Though not mentioning the Republican front-runner by name, Blair implied that a Trump presidency would alienate some American allies and weaken the nation.

      March 6, 2016 at 9:45 am

I wish people would ask the current UK politicians – not this has been. I’m still of the opinion that as much or more than GWB, Blair was responsible for the Iraq disaster. If he had said NO – it would not have happened. Bush would/could not have gone alone.

He did such a disservice to the labor party – recovery is very slow.

      • March 6, 2016 at 10:01 am

Probably the same opinion…UK Parliament has already held debates about banning Trump because of his rhetoric.

      • March 6, 2016 at 10:11 am

“Merkel Lauds Clinton, Brushes Off Trump Attacks Over Refugees ”

Germany’s first female chancellor lauded the former U.S. secretary of state, citing her commitment to women’s rights and health-care policy…“I admire her strategic thinking and her strong commitment to the trans-Atlantic partnership,”

The chancellor was less effusive about Trump, the billionaire real-estate developer who last October called Merkel’s open-border policy on refugees “insane.” “I don’t know him personally,” Merkel told Bild. As to personal attacks, Merkel said: “I see no need to respond to him on that.”

  21. March 6, 2016 at 9:28 am

I understand Bernie Sanders got snarky in calling for Hillary Clinton to release the transcripts of her Wall Street speeches…”a fantastic speech”…”a brilliant speech which you would want to share with the American people”…”extraordinary speech”…”Shakespearean speech”

In a free market, prices are set based on what the market is willing to pay. So apparently, there are those who are willing to pay $100K…$225K… to hear HRC speak. Is it that BS is jealous because no one is willing to pay nearly that much to hear him speak?

If Bernie’s fan club believes together they can revolt and change everything even though PBO has been trying to change the same things with his supporters help the last eight years and Bernie has been saying the same thing as a Rep and Senator for the last twenty-five years, then they can easily think they can win this election despite the electoral count.

Morning MUST READ. And if there is any smart advertising/ political campaign people out there, they will hone in like a laser on the fact that it was REPUBLICANS that decided, ON PURPOSE, to gum up Washington and blockade compromise and the President at every turn. If people are sick of Washington, then they need to know this and connect those dots….vote every damn Republican out of office and see the progress that can happen when the obstacles disappear!
