Hi Chipsticks! Any clue why my comments keep disappearing? I enter a comment (usually at the start of a new post), I see it; I refresh, and it’s gone as if it was never there. I’m not even sure it’s in moderation.
Congrats CCOS… I will always remember this and I must say this statement was pushed by Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the media. I started even doubting a win after the way they were commenting on such a true statement. What “sayest” now??? EVERY.WORD.HAS.COME.TO.PAST!
I do love that the TODers spend much time on things other than the GOP primaries. Too many left leaning blogs seem to have little else to say. Keeping track of PBO actions – and having a laugh – keep us all sane.
Our wonderful blog mistress inspires us all to “take refuge” here on a daily basis, as you know – and inspires us to laugh and share. The original OFA blog (where some of us first congregated) was wonderful, but they also allowed Neanderthals in, and – here – Chips keeps ’em out. And that I’m thinking is part of the combination for TOD’s success! And Nerdy and the other bts are another part! Thank you, Chips, Nerdy, and friends! We will never be able to repay you.
That’s exactly how I came to TOD. I’m so grateful for Chips, Nerdy, all the BT’s and to all the people that contribute to this site with their wonderful comments.
I started out in OFA when it was Obama for America during the 2008 campaign. Later it became Organizing for America and I was still there. I chose my Obama Grandmama name when lots were inserting his name in their screen name. Later when his middle name Hussein was being used to smear him many in OFA changed their middle name to include Hussein whereas I just kept my original name. When the trolls practically took over spewing their venom I found BWD and preferred it there. Then when a break occurred there I found TOD. I read the blog most every day responding when I have time. I am appreciative of this community and am not sure if it disappears how I will be able to replace this safe, responsible, sane, supportive community. I really know I will miss this administration, our President and his family too.
With you on all that! (And I was once Jackie Hussein of FL – or something like that – on the Obama for America blog, and recall when many “took the name”! Think I had a few names there, but I’ve settled on this one – the “O” in O’Boomer stands for both Original Baby Boomer and Obama Boomer! and I am both).
Hillary has about a 200 elected pledged delegate lead. And she is going to win Louisiana by a landslide. So she will probably come out ahead for the evening in delegates, even if she loses Nebraska.
The last one 99ts: more time to sit around waiting. Caucuses are impossible for people who have jobs that won’t allow them to take several hours off to caucus, whereas a primary allows voting all day and sometimes early voting. Also, it would be difficult for multiple family members with children to caucus, as they would need a babysitter. It favors those with more free time and/or more $$
I don’t live in a caucus state and find them totally confusing. Found this about the differences between the parties caucus rules in Iowa. Yes it is simpler for Repubs in that state. I’m not sure about the other states and can’t find anything in a Google search. Maybe some TODers from other caucus states can help.
Many thanks – I could well have googled myself – hate giving the GOP any hits 🙂
I don’t live in a primary country – thought I had it sorted – but the last month or two has me back to confused.
Our candidates are basically chosen by the party members (& very few people are party members in oz) – with the party elite having a large say. This has advantages & disadvantages (lost a couple of very good members because of it) – but at least I understand how it works!
It’s the same in Italy. You vote for the party. Plus, they have all these different parties and they’re changing all the time. Bernie Sanders’ supporters remind me of the Grillini, Beppe Grillo had followers from the right and left and it was all angry populism. A few years ago, I remember that, when they actually won a decent chunk of seats, he wanted them to refuse to cooperate with the Democrats, even at the risk of the Government collapsing. He threatened to kick anyone out of his party (cinque stelle/5 stars) who cooperated/compromised.
Italy is somewhat unique with the multitude of parties. We more follow the US two party – but we do have a few smaller parties who cause a little havoc in the senate.
Thanks ObamaGrandmama – I’d been thinking that when I read that the Colerado GOP decided to cancel theirs. Such democracy – remove the vote completely.
Great. This is a blowout win that leaves Bernie in the dust. Last I heard Hillary was declared the winner in LA before New Orleans reported in, where she is expected to have a huge win. She’s killing it in primary states.
Cruz stops for a few seconds after speaking each sentence, like he’s reabsorbing his words. Or reading parts of Green Eggs and Ham to himself, in between thoughts. Creepy.
Hillary is very nicely touting President Obama’s accomplishments at the Democratic reception in Michigan she’s at, mentioning how we must take back the Congress and, of course, the importance of SCOTUS nominations.
And MSNBC just announced she’s the winner in Louisiana.
I don’t know why she is responding to the make murka great again nonsense meme. Isn’t it time the dems started their own winning common sense memes instead of knee jerk defensive reactions to goppers’ bumper stick slogans?
AMK, I think she’s pivoting to the general election now, having pretty much wiped out Bernie. She’s setting up the meme that America is great and we can make it even better together. At least that’s what I hear her saying.
I think you’re thinking 2008, 2012, where “original thought” was king. But I do think if she gets the nomination, she’ll come up with a positive new meme at that point.
Yeah, old creepy Jeffrey’s the one who argued with Van Jones that the Klan had a “progressive” agenda. And he’s STILL on CNN. And he used to work for St. Ronnie, thus “informing” us more about Reagan, not that we needed more info on him.
Funny, too, that he’d call military generals part of the “elite.” They all agreed to go into the military and fight wars and give their lives for our country, if called upon. Trump – part of the real elite – didn’t. Believe he got five draft deferments. Gag.
Well, Sw, this sexist crap is going to be part of our lives from now to November and beyond. Everything Hillary does will be framed to make her appear ‘shrill’ and ‘weak.’ When men raise their voices, however, they are being forceful.
Jackie, I was just thinking how the backlash PBO encountered, powered by racism, is now showing up during HRC’s tenure as the ugliness of sexism. So, yes, we’ll be seeing all the dog whistle terms for her speech patterns, her attire, her policies. Men: commanding. Women: pushy. Etc.
Remember, Sanders’ supporters are living in pipe dream land; therefore, it is not surprising that they consider Sanders’ wins tonight, momentum, although the delegate math is not in his favor.
Remember Sanders thinks by having a lot of supporters he can get rid of Citizens United, get Medicare for all, free college for all, fix the roads and infrastructure, raise taxes on the rich to pay for things and fix the economic inequality problem. He tells everyone they can fix it all so if they believe that bs from BS they certainly will think delegates don’t really count it is all about momentum.
Proving once again that Donald Trump does whatever Donald Trump wants, the GOP frontrunner knowingly violated the rules at the Republican debate on Thursday night by speaking with his campaign manager during a commercial break, according to a report from CNN’s Dylan Byers. Candidates are forbidden from communicating with their campaign staff during debate breaks, but that’s apparently a rule which Trump has routinely broken at previous debates by speaking with manager Corey Lewandowski backstage. On Thursday night, however, Lewandowski actually came out onto stage to have the meeting. When Fox News staff were unable to convince him to leave, they then told the other campaigns that they could also have access to their candidates for the remainder of the debate, though it’s unclear what impact, if any, this may have had on the candidates’ performances.
I too could not watch Trump brag very long, but noticed the distracting breathing into the Mike. Did Mathews criticize it like he did Hillary’s speeches?
Thinking of all the money spent on Bush! and Rubio – would have been able to provide a new water system in Flint with that money – infrastructure, decent voting systems – the list is endless.
I have no idea whether Cruz or Trump will be the GOP nominee – but admit to thinking that Christie and the VP candidate from Alaska may be a little upset if it is Cruz.
When I could not stand watching Trump drone on about himself I turned on my Tivoed American Idol episode from this week. At commercial time there was an ad for the new Ghost Busters movie with all female comedians. It looked to be really hilarious. Gotta see it!
Hey Chips.
Hey COS!

Hello COS. Congrats! 😀
Hello. Happy Saturday night. ☺️☺️ Hope everyone has had a good day.
I always knew PBO’s comments were right on, without a doubt.
on this issue, both sides really do it, Bob.
Evening al – talking to myself back there – as usual – congrats on 1st COS
1. I was back there with ya.
2. Who’s “al” ? (Couldn’t resist!)
Alan, Alison or Alistair – take your pick. He/she is also part of my sticky keyboard. 🙂
Ha. Just needed a laugh after getting back to the election results. 🙂
I do love that the TODers spend much time on things other than the GOP primaries. Too many left leaning blogs seem to have little else to say. Keeping track of PBO actions – and having a laugh – keep us all sane.

That about covers it 🙂
I didn’t know about the OFA blog – came here via Kos (bwd posts, so enjoyed those pictures), then bwd blog then TOD.
I came here via OFA, then ProPresObama, then BWD … so glad I made all three stops and so glad I am here now!
That’s exactly how I came to TOD. I’m so grateful for Chips, Nerdy, all the BT’s and to all the people that contribute to this site with their wonderful comments.

dreck or crud?
you built this, ‘establishment gop’.
I am sure they meant caucus.
How many delegates does he get for Kansas?
I think the margin is about 10 pts. and Kansas only has 33 delegates. So the split will be about 15-18, something like that.
Hillary has about a 200 elected pledged delegate lead. And she is going to win Louisiana by a landslide. So she will probably come out ahead for the evening in delegates, even if she loses Nebraska.
Thanks Bill R.
your msm, murka.
Nothing presidential here
Who didn’t know that our President was telling the truth?
I certainly did.
wow.
meanwhile, across the pond
from this
to this
Go Foxes.
It was the truth – which is why it hit such a raw nerve among certain folks.
and hillz’ caucus curse is still on, I see.
Maine GOP announces their caucus winner: Cruz
of course, without such a system, there wouldn’t have been a PBO.
Is there a reason why Bernie wins caucus – do his folks yell louder – have more time to sit around waiting??
The last one 99ts: more time to sit around waiting. Caucuses are impossible for people who have jobs that won’t allow them to take several hours off to caucus, whereas a primary allows voting all day and sometimes early voting. Thanks MadameSoph – is the dem caucus different to the GOP? I thought I read in the latter that people could come in, vote & then leave?
I don’t live in a caucus state and find them totally confusing. Found this about the differences between the parties caucus rules in Iowa. Yes it is simpler for Repubs in that state. Italy is somewhat unique with the multitude of parties. We more follow the US two party – but we do have a few smaller parties who cause a little havoc in the senate.
Each Party in each Caucus state sets up their own procedures and rules for caucusing as well as changing them from time to time.
Thanks ObamaGrandmama – I’d been thinking that when I read that the Colerado GOP decided to cancel theirs. Such democracy – remove the vote completely.
Thanks, MS. It seems a little absurd to say you’ve “won” anything with five percent turnout.
🙂
Great. This is a blowout win that leaves Bernie in the dust. Last I heard Hillary was declared the winner in LA before New Orleans reported in, where she is expected to have a huge win. She’s killing it in primary states.
have you read this JackieG
Hillary the winner in delegate count for the night by far. Expands 200 delegate lead.
that’s a good thing
yup
Cruz stops for a few seconds after speaking each sentence, like he’s reabsorbing his words. Or reading parts of Green Eggs and Ham to himself, in between thoughts. Creepy.
Like I was say’in.
Indeed you were…i wonder if Konacki on the white board will point that out
Hillary is very nicely touting President Obama’s accomplishments at the Democratic reception in Michigan she’s at, mentioning how we must take back the Congress and, of course, the importance of SCOTUS nominations.

Still playing into their false meme. To prove a negative/lie is a loser’s game.
I think you’re thinking 2008, 2012, where “original thought” was king. But I do think if she gets the nomination, she’ll come up with a positive new meme at that point.
yup, I blame the kenyan for all things good.
Me, too. Love the guy (if I haven’t mentioned that a gazillion times!).
amk am with you. You would think they would get that but ….smdh!!!
ironic coming from a racist punk with such a name.
Yeah, old creepy Jeffrey’s the one who argued with Van Jones that the Klan had a “progressive” agenda. And he’s STILL on CNN. And he used to work for St. Ronnie, thus “informing” us more about Reagan, not that we needed more info on him.

Tell Jeffry Lord to go press Trump’s and David Duke’s hood and sheet
eat that scalia.
Nothing presidential here, either.
Apparently, HRC is the only one who elevates their voice during rallies. Last week they were talking about her speaking through applauses.
Women don’t shout – with men – well that’s what they do – pffffft
Hillary has to do what suits her – the media will find fault regardless
Well, Sw, this sexist crap is going to be part of our lives from now to November and beyond. Everything Hillary does will be framed to make her appear ‘shrill’ and ‘weak.’ When men raise their voices, however, they are being forceful.
Exactly, JackieG.
Etc.
Reminds me of this commercial about “negative” labels given to women for the same behavior for which men are given positive labels:
That is EXCELLENT!
who is going to tell water boy, that despite the concerted effort of those in the gop leadership, he will not be the nominee 2016?
No wonder the GOP wants to run against Bernie.
Yep! HRC scares them silly! Bernie, not so much.
Hmmmmmm
Sanders the loser in delegate count for the evening>
Bill, don’t the Sanders’ supporters remind you of the Grillini, Beppe Grillo’s fans?
Oh, yes. Cut of the same cloth, the same self righteousness.

IOKIYAAH
As President would anyone think he would keep his side of a compromise. Internationally a disaster.
Love this tweet sw. 🙂
🙂
🙂 🙂
Feel the bern!
Yet, he doesn’t think it worth his time and effort to try to win over the black vote…I guess that applies to all POC.
mom, why aren’t you answering your phone?
…
mom?
….
MOM???
…
….
I AM DRIVING, DAMMIT.
Anybody watching Trump? He’s breathing through his nose like a rabid junkyard dog.
15 seconds. I will never get them back. uugghh.
I just cringed again!
I do not want that image JoB – but it’s very descriptive of the man
Look away, 99ts – and nobody will blame you!
GOPers spend so much time ranting, raving, scowling and hating – it really is like the wind changed and left their faces fixed in horror.
That would make the start of a good book on ’em all! I don’t recommend writing it, however, because you’d have to think about them way too long. Ugh.
No I just can’t unless it’s a shot clip
I meant “short”
I too could not watch Trump brag very long, but noticed the distracting breathing into the Mike. Did Mathews criticize it like he did Hillary’s speeches?
Of course not. Ugh.
Good night TOD ….
Indeed they did – g’nite Bob
That sounds like good news – and goodnight, Bob!
😄
the gov’t-shut-down leader is going to be even more unbearably pompous and evil after tonight;
…. heavens help us, were does the gop get all these creepy and fundamentally evil scumbags from ???
and it seems there are more where those came from
Thinking of all the money spent on Bush! and Rubio – would have been able to provide a new water system in Flint with that money – infrastructure, decent voting systems – the list is endless.
I have no idea whether Cruz or Trump will be the GOP nominee – but admit to thinking that Christie and the VP candidate from Alaska may be a little upset if it is Cruz.
dem turnout at LA is 310k and the rethugs is about 300k. Not bad for a ‘red state’. Go dems.
That’s great!
🙂 Yay!
😀
My son, a fan of hers, was there and spoke to her afterwards, with picture too. Then he met me for The Color Purple. Great night.
Besides LA, what is the other win for HRC?
How great!
BS won Kansas and Nebraska, and maybe HRC just won LA? Lost track already!
WITH?
Yay Gabby!
ouch.
LOL!
Bam!
Of all the nightmares our country has gone through, this is one of the most frightening in recent years, tell you the truth.
When I could not stand watching Trump drone on about himself I turned on my Tivoed American Idol episode from this week. At commercial time there was an ad for the new Ghost Busters movie with all female comedians. It looked to be really hilarious. Gotta see it!
New post.
