Finally I want to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to GGAIL who made over 40 calls into Arizona inviting folks to a SCOTUS event in Phoenix. Even though she does not live in my area she was still willing to pitch in. She is my TOD hero. Gail commented that the folks she spoke to very very nice.

There are wonderful folks in every state who just need someone to reach out to them and encourage to get involved. You can be that person. send me a note if you are willing to make calls. It is only scary the first time :->

    Hi All

In response to “tnmtngirl” girls questions about a strategy for winning on the SCOTUS issue.

I am sure the President will use every tool at his disposal to try get a nominee appointed. OFA is also working hard on this and ALL of you can HELP.

There is a National Day of Action on Thursday March 3rd. To find an event near you go to barackobama.com > get involved > find an event > enter your zip code. If there is not an event near you – please call your Senator and tell them to Do Their Job and hold hearings.

Here is a list of Senators OFA is focusing on. The last time i posted this list, someone remarked that this looked like a lot of work. I was a bit discouraged by this reaction.

You can just call one Senator each day, or you can just call their DC offices one day and a local office the next. Isn’t it works 10-15 minutes a day to achieve a Supreme Court that will support us on every issue – Climate, Women’s Health, Labor Unions, Immigration, Citizens United, etc…

What really galls me is that the GOP uses their own actions of obstruction to make sure things do not get done then blame the lack of results on the President as not knowing how to work with Congress. Worse of all their tactics work with help from the media and gullible citizens.

I think we need to put these numbers in perspective. There are more GOP candidates in the race, with an undesirable candidate in the lead, and the 2nd and 3rd candidates neck and neck with each other. So it makes sense that their respective supporters will be very enthusiastic about making sure their candidates win.

There are only 2 Dem candidates, one of whom has a clear lead, and is considered to be an acceptable presidential candidate. That was not the case in 2008, when by this time, the race was much closer. I think once the Dem party has an established nominee, the OFA aparatus will be in full swing. You will see PBO put his signature campaign stamp on the whole operation. Then the other big guns like FLOTUS, the Bidens, Bill Clinton, etc will all do their part.

    From Luvvie:

It was Hella Onyx: The Blackest Black History Month Ever
    Awesomely Luvvie — March 1, 2016

The Blackest and best Black History Month ever ended yesterday and I am just reveling in it’s abundant noirness. Still. It was utterly lit. Like Olympic Torch lit. Like Christmas Lights when you do too much so you keep the neighbors up all night because your house is one giant flashlight lit.

There were so many amazing moments too. Let’s talk about it!

    Frederick Douglass’ Google Doodle Blowout
On February 1, Google dropped their Doodle to commemorate Black History Month. We did not know what was to come in these 29 days, but we shoulda known it was a special one. An animated Frederick Douglass was featured on Google’s homepage, welcoming us into February with a blowout that was so legit, I was almost jealous I no longer had an afro. My man Frederick rocked the most righteous coiffure and we had to start the month by paying homage to that.

I caught 10 seconds of him ranting on MSNBC (apologies for watching – only US channel I can access) – before I turned off the sound. How different to listening to PBO – regardless as to whether he won or lost. He looks/sounds like the angry old guy next door.

Actually, I hope he doesn’t drop out. I think that Hillary staying in the race in 2008 even though it was obvious she wasn’t going to win was a positive for PBO. And he has some good ideas which still need to be heard.

As long as he doesn’t do the idiot routine he often does.
