What Bernie Sanders Doesn’t Understand About Black Voters

Pete-Souza-White-House

****

Don

I really believe that Bernie Sanders doesn’t care about the black vote in that he wants the black vote, but if he doesn’t get it he’s okay with that. I think that Sanders mentally is stuck back in the 60’s when it comes to the way he views African Americans. I think that Sanders admired the young black fire brands of the 60’s, I think that it instilled in him the way that he thinks African Americans should act. But Bernie’s problem is that he got left behind, those young black fire brands of the 60’s are now doctors and lawyers and teachers that now believe that to make a social change you must work within the system and not look for ways to blow up the system. I bet if you could read Bernie’s mind it would say “why aren’t these blacks out there raising hell and trying to blow up the system.” But what Bernie doesn’t understand is that in fact we are out there blowing up the system, we’re just doing it by becoming the first African American Attorney General, the first Latino Supreme Court Justice. That is how we blow up the system. You blow up the system by displaying a picture of a little black boy touching the hair of the first African American President in the Oval Office. That one picture alone is more powerful than anything Bernie Sanders has said since he decided to run for President.

****

****

The idea that what black people want from a president, is welfare. As though we are not lawyers, doctors, activists, educators, scientists, astronauts, and leaders in our communities. No, what we want is welfare. There are not enough f**ks yous in the world to the Bernie campaign

****

He truly knows nothing about black voters. Helloooo…great migration?!

Sanders was so eager to find black people to help him, that he accepted Cornel West. He might as well ask for support from Allen West (RWNJ from Florida) or Clarence Thomas. Most of us don’t give a crap about either one of them. SMH

Had PBO given Cornel West a role in the administration, Cornel would have been the scandal of the decade inside 12 months. PBO has good judgement, and gave West a wide berth. Cornel’s lack of grace and class comes through very clearly in his various rantings about PBO.

I’m of the thinking that Trump can’t be harmed by the other Republican clowns in the race because they all believe the same bullshit as Trump. You have a bunch of liars lying about everything and Trump being the most entertaining liar of them all.

Great insight, Don. Since every one of the Republican candidates comes from the same rotten place, their criticisms of each other ring hollow. It will take a true Democrat to decimate Donald Trump. He is an smelly bag of hot air. His whole act has to be punctured so we can all go about taking the stink out of the air for our democracy.

Its like a kind of extortion going on. Trump is unafraid to say whatever he needs to to retaliate and the rest of the GOP field and the down ticket as well are sitting ducks. Trump has the goods on them. He must watch as much left wing info as right which is very different from the rank and file tea party GOP. We will be hearing all our own grievances coming out of Trump’s mouth. He will already have the Rubio point of backing a failing private college and will use it the moment anyone brings up his being sued himself for fraud.

Who will be next to do the time for the crime family GOP? Jeb has bowed out, Paul has bowed out, etc. etc. Are these people more willing to accept being sent off the island than challenge Trump who has no bounds to his willingness to harm others. Romney realized I think that he had more at stake than he wanted to lose challenging Trump on his taxes.

when i listen to the speeches of Sanders and how he disses POC…and as you have pointed out…he is not all that concerned about getting our vote…i am thinking that he is try to get the GOP vote that does not want to vote for Trump

Not only that, but they all say how awful and dangerous he is….but if he’s the nominee, they’ll vote for him! What a crock of shit they all are.

    • February 28, 2016 at 3:00 pm

I have said this for awhile. They don’t disagree with WHAT Trump says.

They disagree with HOW he says it.

If Trump were saying it in Luntz-approved language, they’d have no problem with him.

The question is: Why was this Republican, Obama-hating mole allowed to rise to such a prominent position in the DNC?!?!? I guess now that her troubling behavior is no longer convenient for the D establishment because HRC is on the ballot, they’re letting her go….

That’s a good question, hopefruit2, how did she rise up the ranks? It seems as though she was against everything that had to do with the rights of our brothers and sisters in the LGBT community.

    • February 28, 2016 at 2:53 pm

NYT calling her a “rising star in the Democratic Party.” NOPE.

She had a few things going for her: combat veteran, broke with GOP and her dad’s cronies, and of course a telegenic young woman. Honestly, I think #3 was what really boosted her profile. Not sure if she’s taken a hard right turn somewhere, or if this was all just waiting beneath the surface. I’m just hoping for a good primary.

Now someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t believe Hillary or Bill insulted the intelligence of black folk in 08′ like Bernie does now. Now I’m not saying that the Clintons have clean hands, but I don’t remember them questioning our intelligence.

Not in my memory. They sure trashed PBO but they didn’t treat POC like mental defectives. Bernie is toast, at least among Latinos after Nevada & most probably among AAs after South Carolina. Bernie & his bots do seem to be showing their racist underwear.

  10. February 28, 2016 at 1:20 pm

    FYI Bern…

Most Black people in America LIVE IN THE SOUTH.

I’m sticking with America needs more #LoveAndKindness and truly hope Hillary Clinton does as well – until the end of her 2nd Term ….

The BURN BERN is about to experience is obviously going to be a big surprise for him … what a delusional dude …..

Bernie isn’t smart enough to be President if he learned nothing from the Democratic disasters of 2010 and 2014 when his base stayed home from the polls to “teach Obama a lesson.”

Even Rubio’s own crime family connections can’t protect him from the Donald. Now Rubio is a sitting duck and the countdown starts for when Trump raises the issue of Rubios connections to a failing private university that did much more harm.

I chuckled reading the tweet about the mom hanging up on her kid after it was admitted the child donated to Bernie. I spent several phone calls trying to talk my son out of caucusing for Bernie in NV. I gave up on even the idea of trying with his wife as she fits the narcissistic profile of a Berniebot.

Sounds familiar. My alarm went off as my soon to be daughter in law accused me of hating on police when I brought up the Ferguson issues in a visit not long after the first demonstrations (tanks and snipers and all). It filled me with a rage I can not fully explain but I just told her that I didn’t feel that way about police. (Thanks, no drama Obama) That’s when I knew she was a reactionary and went home and felt depressed. She hasn’t changed my opinion in the year since.

I use avoidance with my DIL since I have noticed she baits me inorder to start a conversation she knows she disagrees with me on then she ends up in a temper tantrum if I have a different opinion than her. I notice she loves conflict so I have learned to recognize her baiting and just avoid.

The baiting sounds difficult to say the least. I haven’t experienced the baiting thank goodness but I am so convicted about things that I tend to bring them up myself. I haven’t been as free to express myself since I realized I am in the presence of a reactionary. Don’t want to fall out too obviously and then not get to see my son and brand new grandbaby.

I have had an uneasy feeling that if Bernie decided knowing he was losing the Dem election that he could break off to run Independently. He might think he could take the Berniebots with him and get GOP votes. It might mean Donald could win since it would lose us more Dem votes.

Before I forget Meta, I saw you mentioned not having cable and realizing the game Dubs game was on ABC last night…..They just started Saturday prime time games every week at 8:30 PM EST. This is new and hasn’t been done since NBC used to air games nationally back in the day when the ESPN, FOXsports, and local broadcasting rights were not part of league deals. They waited until the NFL season was over and it was a smart move. Last night’s game was the highest rated, non-X-mas broadcast ever!

I’d like her to pull out a win in MA, I don’t care by how much. BS stood a chance of taking MA a week or so ago. However, Gallup showed a remarkable shift in popularity, BS falling and HRC gaining. We will have a much better picture in a few days. But to solidify her position, HRC needs some Midwestern and New England states.
