The reason gas prices are so low is bc the US reserves are at 5.5 million and demand is at 4.1 million.

    Hence the low gas prices…

Way past time to close our national monument to Bush’s shame. Thanks, President Obama! I suspect it will take a miracle to get Congress to do the right thing.

To the tea party Republicans who is always talking about the debt, how much have it cost the taxpayers to keep Gitmo open all these years?

I keep some of the loony left & Bernie supporters in my TL just to see what they are actually saying. I kid you not, I read a tweet over the weekend where someone said, “we don’t have to worry about Congress. We have the People (read: revolution!)” How did Americans get this dumb? The concerted effort of GOP to dumb down America has been terrifyingly effective.

McConnell says Senate won’t vote on Obama Court pick
    By ANDREW TAYLOR, Associated Press

WASHINGTON — Top Senate Republican Mitch McConnell said Tuesday that his party won’t permit a vote on any Supreme Court nominee submitted by President Barack Obama and will instead “revisit the matter” after the presidential election in November.

The Kentucky Republican acknowledged that Obama is within his rights to nominate a replacement for the late Antonin Scalia but said Republicans controlling the Senate would exercise their rights.

“Presidents have a right to nominate just as the Senate has its constitutional right to provide or withhold consent,” the Majority Leader said in a speech on the Senate floor. “In this case, the Senate will withhold it.”

Thanks again, whiny left, for not voting for Democrats in 2010 and 2014. Thanks a bunch.

      • February 23, 2016 at 12:41 pm

I blame alot of those Progressives for this. For seven years this is the obstruction that this President have dealt with from those racists piece of crap Republicans. These Republicans are a disgrace to this country.

          February 23, 2016 at 12:51 pm

It started instantly because PBO didn’t choose wild-eyed far left idiots for his cabinet. Barely days into his Presidency and they started………..

        • February 23, 2016 at 12:57 pm

Obama wasn’t doing this, they are disappointed in Obama, they didn’t get single payer, so we aren’t going to vote during the mid-term election. And thanks to that the Republicans got the House and Senate. No Obama didn’t let the Progressives down, the Progressives let Obama and this country down.

    • February 23, 2016 at 12:12 pm

Did McConnell say WHY? By any chance?

      • 57 57andfemale
        February 23, 2016 at 12:21 pm

Because it’s PBO. The official excuse: we’ll “let the people decide”. The people DID decide – in 2012.

Because the whiny left were too pure to vote in 2010 and 2014. They bitch there isn’t progress, and they are the reason we can’t get anywhere. Imagine if we had held on to the Senate in 2014. Just imagine.

        • February 23, 2016 at 12:37 pm

One is appointed to the Supreme Court – not elected.

The emos are rich. They say not to blame VOTERS because Dems lost seats. Its PBO’s and the DNC/DLC’s fault for not giving them a reason to show up.

That’s the line, always. Nader’s line in 2000 – blame Al Gore for losing. And we will hear the same b.s. from the Sanders camp.

              February 23, 2016 at 1:23 pm

They’re on it. With the SC primary and Super Tuesday coming up (and Bern’s chances in big trouble if the polls are correct), they’re saying it’s all Hillary’s fault if we have President Trump, since she so unpopular and essentially Republican.

But don’t tell them that their savior Bernie blamed turnout for his NV loss.

So who’s supposed to be starting THE REVOLUTION, and when?

    • February 23, 2016 at 12:23 pm

He knows that the Senate will have to vote, no matter how much he postures ….

Given how often those guys are wrong, I’d say this statement pretty much seals the deal and we’ll have a new court justice by late June. 🙂

McTurtle is injecting an “implied intent” into Article II, Section 2, that does not exist. The term consent is carried out/demonstrated by Yes or No votes.

Sen Mitch McConnell will submit President Obama’s nominee to the Jud Committee and then hold a full senate vote

    • February 23, 2016 at 6:14 pm

What they’re doing is giving an incentive for democrats to vote in November. I’ve been afraid that a good portion of the Bernie supporters will stay home and not vote for Hillary in the general. But McConnell and republicans have found the best way to remind people that the direction of the SCOTUS will be at stake in the next election. ANd the media will probably talk often about it.

Georgia deputies buy bullied Macon child Air Jordans

Three Bibb County deputies received national attention after helping a child who was being picked on because of his old, worn sneakers.
    13WMAZ 5:02 p.m. EST February 20, 2016

Three Bibb County deputies are being recognized on ABC World News as “Persons of the Week.”

The deputies, Trinicholas Carswell, Timothy Jones and Jeff Howell, are getting national attention for what they did after responding to a call in Macon Feb. 13., according to a sheriff’s office news release. Turns out a 16-year-old girl was picking on a 9-year-old boy. The boy’s grandmother, Carolyn Taylor told deputies several kids were picking on him and making fun of his worn out shoes.

Last Saturday when Taylor looked outside, she saw the 16-year-old placing her grandson Adam Flowers in a choke hold.

“When I heard him scream, I knew he was in trouble,” said Taylor.

    Good Day TOD!

What a pathetic state of affairs our country faces. I thought it was horrible when John McCain, who knew better, put that ignorant redneck on the ballot to be one heartbeat away from the Presidency but the reality TV clown tops that one. All of a sudden the media is faced with the fact that Trump is going to win the Republican nomination. There is NO path to the nomination for any other candidate on the Republican side and they know it. It was all fun and games and great for their ratings but now they fear that the Apprentice show host is seriously vying to be President of the United States so suddenly they feign surprise that he and his followers are crazy.

They helped create this monster for their ratings and will continue to feature this madman hourly (under the guise that he is the front runner) every single day until the election in November. He gets millions and millions of dollars in free advertisement daily and they basically ignore that he is a racist, bigoted, superficial, narcissist who whips up his followers to hate everyone and everything (especially the media). Oh they will occasionally (not Mika and Joe) question him on whatever stunt he has performed for their attention that week. Then he’ll give some rambling response about how great he is and the polls and that Blacks and Hispanics love him and then they’ll move on to the next question because let us not forget what Chuck Todd said, “that if he barks at his political guest – aka asks them tough questions- they won’t come back on his show”. Our 4th estate at work!
They sell Trumps rise to anger in the country about the “horrible” state of our union when actually most of those people even the poor ignorant ones that follow him are far better off today than they were 8 years ago. LBJ said it best:

There is no real anger about government it is only fear that one day very soon they will wake up to the reality that they are no longer in the majority and there won’t be anywhere for them to run and hide. So, their only hope is that Trump as promised will kick out the immigrants (Hispanics), keep the Muslims from coming in and marginalize African Americans and thus “Make THEIR America Great Again”.

    ‘Got to Go’:
Success Academy, New York City’s largest charter school network, loses more than 10% of its enrolled student population each year once testing starts, compared to 2.7% at nearby schools

    Monday 22 February 2016 17.01 EST

Brendin Smith was only four years old when his mother, Monique Jeffrey, realized her son was no longer wanted at Success Academy. Jeffrey says that administrators at one of the charter school’s Brooklyn locations told her the kindergartener “wasn’t going to make it”. Jeffrey later found out that Brendin was one of 16 students who been placed on the school’s “Got to Go” list, a list uncovered by the New York Times that singled out students that the school wanted to shed.

Success Academy, the largest charter school network in New York City, also has some of the highest test scores. Critics have alleged that Success Academy achieves this in part by driving low performers out.
