Kendrick Lamar was 100% robbed. There is no way on this earth and the afterlife that you can listen to Kendrick’s To Pimp A Butterfly groundbreaking revolutionary album and tell me Taylor Swift’s milquetoast album wins Album of the Year. That is complete BS.
Taylor Swift. — That was the only “Aw hell nah!” I let out the whole evening. Most years, I left fly about 5 or 6 of those. Not that she’s not talented and she certainly sold a hell of a lot of albums, I was cheering for pretty much everyone else in that category. Oh well, good for her.
I like that they showed a bunch of outstanding performances tonight, but I miss seeing acceptance speeches and performances from lesser-known artists in categories that don’t get much TV exposure. They should go back to weekend broadcast and show more of those, in my humble opinion.Another half hour to allow for that would’ve made it perfect.
To show you how weird this great grandmother is, three of my favorites at the Grammys were Bonnie Raitt, Alabama Shakes, and Bruno Mars. The thrill is NOT gone! Ha! I crack myself up.
I so enjoyed the Grammy’s tonight. My husband and I had fun figuring out who all the folks were. So many we don’t know. Thanks for bringing all the tweets here.
“A documentary about Charles L. Blockson’s journey to preserve the history and culture of people who descended from Africa was screened Thursday afternoon at Temple University.
Blockson, the founder and curator emeritus of the Charles L. Blockson African-American Collection at Temple University Libraries, is the focus of the 16-minute documentary titled, “Holding History: The Collection of Charles L. Blockson.”
The film starts with Blockson, who was born in 1933 in Norristown, explaining his desire to learn about Black history after asking his fourth-grade teacher about past African Americans. His teacher replied, “Negroes were born to serve white people.”
“She wasn’t a bigoted person; she was just ignorant,” Blockson said during a question-and-answer session following the film. “She apologized to me … before she died.””
Hi, Nerdy!
That was my comment of the freaking day!
Does this mean you are the “first lady”?
I’m just part of the crowd, y’all!
THANK YOU, President Obama’s team!!!!!

Not weird at all You are a woman of extraordinarily good taste! Btw, they were 3 of my faves too! 🙂
Good! That confirms the “good taste” part, dahling!

This ratf’r needs to be gone…
My gift to you (and my favorite Bonnie Raitt):
There were some sound glitches during her performance — not at all her fault.
