I’VE HAD MY OWN REVOLUTION HERE…I SENT SCALIA’S STATEMENTS ON LESSER COLLEGES FOR AFRICAN AMERICAN STUDENTS TO MY FB….I DON’T CARE WHO DIES WHEN THEY HAVE NOTHING RESPECTFUL TO SAY ABOUT PEOPLE OF COLOR!
ALL OF THESE REPUGNANT DEBATES NEED TO BE DEVELOPED INTO A SITCOM..THE DONALD FINALLY HAS HIS OWN POLITICAL REALITY SHOW! SPONSORS…VIAGRA AND OSCAR MEYER WEINERS!
Loretta Lynch would be the most AWESOME appointment to the Supreme Court ever! (No disrespect to Justice Sotomayor, but IMHO AG Lynch has one of the most soothing voices on the planet.)
Still hoping for Brian Sandoval, just before NV GOP caucus on Feb 23 — let’s see Cruz and Rubio twist themselves into knots trying to appeal to NV (moderate) Republican caucus-goers.
Think that #NotoriousRGB may step down immediately following HRC inauguration as President, and hope that AG Lynch is nominated as her replacement — AG Lynch would then sail through Dem-controlled Senate confirmation process.
I know that a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush, but AG Lynch still has A LOT she will accomplish for the remainder of this year!
Halperin is an idiot. Not surprising that he’s siding with Rethugs on the nomination issue, which wouldn’t be an issue if President Obama was a Republican.
Dunno about CNN (don’t have TV/cable, CNN rarely lifts paywall to allow livestreaming), but “Game Change” Halperin and Heilmann have their own Bloomberg (? IIRC) show.
This is insane, Arapaho, as you rightly point out. This kind of disrespect from the media would never be shown to a Republican president. They just can’t hide their bias.
Bernie gave an earlier statement which was extremely weak, never mentioning President Obama by name. He referred to him as the “Democratic President.” In this statement though, he says something so inappropriate that I cannot understand why he keeps repeating it. He says if he were President he would only appoint SCOTUS judges who would agree to overturn Citizens United. What potential jurist to the highest court would even make such a declaration during a confirmation hearing? Bernie has a bachelor’s degree in political science. He does not have a law degree, which I believe matters when a president’s oath of office includes upholding the Constitution, the LEGAL framework of our representative democracy.
In contrast, Hillary Clinton’s excellent statement was grounded in her legal training and understanding of the Constitution. Her statement was presidential.
Well stated. Of course a nominee can’t commit ahead of time to any judicial decision. They would be considered disqualified. One can only infer from their judicial principles how they might decide. That statement by Bernie was simply playing to the BernieBots.
Yes. And if you did not take that High School gov’t class or didn’t take it seriously if you did, then BernieBots believe this is possible. This is the same reason Fox can tell lies and viewers believe them. Lack of knowledge and as a result inability to evaluate the veracity of information.
He loved Tosca Restaurant here in DC. I saw him there on two occasions. I glared at him from across the room. He was not a very shall I say healthy person. He was as wide as he was tall. I only say this because when I saw him I thought to myself this man’s heart will not take him eating that rich food consistently. The maitre d told me that he eats there often.
Has the CBC, which couldn’t wait to rush to a tv to endorse Hillary, put out a statement about the GOP telling the President of the United States that he doesn’t have the right to nominate someone to fill a vacancy on the Supreme Court?
I’m not sure if everyone will be able to read the Facebook post.
“Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is reinforcing the Republican political agenda to disrupt governmental functions when the circumstances do not line up with their philosophy. It is imperative that we have nine members of the United States Supreme Court deciding constitutional issues that are important to the American people. It is absurd to suggest that President Obama should be denied the opportunity to nominate a qualified jurist to replace Justice Scalia on the Supreme Court. The American people should clearly understand that Senate Republicans have a political agenda to pack the Court with conservative justices who would reverse years of progressive jurisprudence.
“The Congressional Black Caucus urges President Obama to expeditiously nominate a replacement for Justice Scalia who has the Scholarship, values and temperament to sit on the highest court of our country and decide cases based on established law rather than a political agenda. We will vigorously confront Senate Republicans at every turn should they dismiss President Obama’s nomination.” –
CBC Chairman G. K. Butterfield’s Statement on Supreme Court Vacancy
this is what I wanted to see/hear/read from the CBC …. sometimes they are so missing in action on issues where I believe they ought to be leading the fight (when their constituents are target of obstructionism … e.g. Medicaid Expansion under ObamaCare)
Yep, they were holding press conferences and putting out tweets and vines showing all kinds of love for Hillary. But Bill isn’t going to forget that y’all voted for Barack and not Hillary.Bill playing all sweet and nice but if Hillary ends up in the Whitehouse, its on and popping!!!
I am sure with all the coverage which has been done on Scalia´s death and GOP idiocy concerning PBO´s coming nominations this has been said already but…if it weren´t for the fact that leaving this seat vacant for that long, here is the scenario which I, personally, would find the most gratifying, schadenfreude-wise
Senate stalls nominations being immature like that
GOP looses presidency and senate over this and other things
new democratic POTUS nominates new Justce…one with a degree and experience in practicing constitutional law. I´d have a suggestion there.
😀
Same to you, my love. Loving the beautiful weather while out on the patio. All is well in my world. So happy to know that our president is enjoying this weather as well. Great day. (((((((Loving hugs to all of my TOD family.))))))))HZ
I wish Bernie Sanders was President, he would make the Senate confirm a nominee in two weeks’ time and then perp-walk every single banker on Wall Street for good measure.
Hey Dudette, congrats on first. As always, it’s great to see you and Happy Valentine’s Day.
Hi there Ran Man! Thanks and Happy Valentine’s Day to you too! Enjoy!
Yay Dudette! What a cool tweet from NASA for Valentine’s Day.
Hi Judith! I agree! 😀
Bring over from last thread.

THEY CONVENIENTLY FORGET ABOUT THE BIG BOOMERS!

“I was expecting, like, a cooler throw.” 😄
My President wants everyone to be as cool as him. Sir, you set a high bar! 😍 😄❤️
Good Morning, Everyone 🙂
BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA AH HA
GO CRAB, GO!!!
Can the crab handle this ninja?

wow, that is one determined sob.
That is one scary crab.
When you’re a Jet, you’re a Jet all the way… 😀
Okay that’ll do it for me. Off to refuel and re-medicate.
Smooches and hugs to one and all!
An interesting parting gift
Sort of like Obi wan telling Darth Vader that if you strike me down I will become more powerful than you could imagine.
Congrats on 1st Dudette and Happy Valentine’s Day 🙂
Decided to be direct about it …
#TrustBarack … which I totally do … so I’m gonna dig his nominee no matter …..
bbl …
Happy V-day to you, Dr. Bob!

Thank you arapaho and Happy Valentine’s Day to you, as well!
AG Lynch is my top choice, for sure.
But, the cool thing about PBO is that whomever he selects I’m gonna love it 🙂
#FORWARD Together
WHOMEVER INDEED!
Good Morning and Happy Valentine’s Day to all the BT’s, Chips and TOD Family. Have a wonderful Day. Love you all.
As the President put it on Ellen earlier this week,
I Obamacare about all of you! Happy Valentine’s Day TOD!
Do note that the President does not hesitate to state the fact that Russia has its armed forces occupying Ukrainian territory.
bbl …
Happy Valentine’s Day, TODville!
US MSM failure to do their jobs has led to this embarrassment:
From last night:
And this:
Couldn’t have said it better, myself ….
bbl …
Halperin is an idiot. Not surprising that he’s siding with Rethugs on the nomination issue, which wouldn’t be an issue if President Obama was a Republican.
Yay vc!
Way to go, getting AP to respond. 🙂
Isn’t MSNBC giving this D&&& Halpern a show?
GA COS.
Dunno about CNN (don’t have TV/cable, CNN rarely lifts paywall to allow livestreaming), but “Game Change” Halperin and Heilmann have their own Bloomberg (? IIRC) show.
Their show repeats on MSNBC @ 6pm est. That’s the replacement for Rev Al; needless to say, no rating points from moi!
This is insane, Arapaho, as you rightly point out. This kind of disrespect from the media would never be shown to a Republican president. They just can’t hide their bias.
I THINK THE DONALD HAS BEEN BORROWING MAKEUP FROM RUSTY BOEHNER….THE DONALD IS THE NEW ORANGE!
Need to check your vision; dude was so red he blended with the backdrop! 🙂
I love Senator Sanders’ statement on President Obama and SCOTUS nominations.

My condolences to his family.
Hmmm…interesting bit of trivia about his eating habits; no wonder. Thanks donna for sharing!
I figured, looking at pictures of him, that the cause was either a massive heart attack or a massive stroke. He was a heart attack waiting to happen.
I recall you once mentioning seeing him…
Has the CBC, which couldn’t wait to rush to a tv to endorse Hillary, put out a statement about the GOP telling the President of the United States that he doesn’t have the right to nominate someone to fill a vacancy on the Supreme Court?
Just askin.’
Arghh. Maybe somebody will let us all know when that happens.

Donna, since you are probably getting my Valentine supper ready 😀 and I’m lazing around, I tweeted this to share, by those of us not on Facebook.
Thank you VC!
I was able to read it.

Just dropping by to wish you all a Happy Valentine’s Day!
And to you, dd and everyone else at TOD. Love each and every one of y’all. 🙂
Yo, GDD! This arose from our recent roses discussion. 😀
Roses are sometimes yellow.
Violets are mostly …… violet.
When POTUS gets due respect,
TODobots get pretty mellow!
May you and Mr. GDD ….and the kids…. have a super-dooper Valentine Sunday!
Ahhh thank you my dear.
Paging J’OB – VC is trying to replace you as our resident poet 🙂
😳 Not at all! I’m only an *editor*.
😀 Comment took off before I could add my smile. 🙂 🙂
Happy Valentine’s Day, TODville! ❤
When a Snowden fanboi is hoping for a Trump or Sanders win…..
AND WE INTEND TO ENJOY EVERY MOMENT OF IT!

Senate GOP can’t play politics in confirming President Obama’s pick for Justice Antonin Scalia’s replacement
They can play politics but they shouldn’t play politics. It’s all about politics when it comes to Republicans — in or out of Senate.
Happy Valentines Day, TOD:
ICYMI….quite possibly the greatest All-Star game Dunk contest in history (harkens back Jordan/Dominique & V.Carter/McGrady)
Good Afternoon TODVille!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TOD FAMILY…SNOWY AFTERNOON HERE…GOING FOR A HONEY HOT TEA AND A COZY…ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ…BBL!..<3
I’m glad he’s back on the links, hell, I wish he’d play a few rounds during Scalia’s funeral.
😀
The delicious part of this is that I’m sure he’s already got someone in mind.
Just wanted to wish my Chips and my TOD family a Happy Valentine’s Day. HZ
Big hearts, chocolate and red wine to you, HZ. So good to hear from you. Hope all is well in your world.
Same to you, my love. Loving the beautiful weather while out on the patio. All is well in my world. So happy to know that our president is enjoying this weather as well. Great day. (((((((Loving hugs to all of my TOD family.))))))))HZ
photo reminds me : what if Gov. Duval Patrick’s name is on the SCOTUS shortlist
I wish Bernie Sanders was President, he would make the Senate confirm a nominee in two weeks’ time and then perp-walk every single banker on Wall Street for good measure.
Indeed, just because it is he.
Attn WI Dems…
Isn’t Feingold seeking a statewide Wisconsin seat this year?
Reminder:
This man’s hair is growing inside his brain! Clearly!
New post.
