President Barack Obama adjust his suit jacket as he walks across the tarmac before boarding Air Force One at Moffett Federal Airfield in Mountain View, Calif
meta look at my comment, I said the same thing about the shades. Looking forward to the Ellen show tomorrow. Let me go check out the debate or maybe watch some basketball.
Everything will work out with your second baby Chips! I really feel it in my heart. Even if things are shaky at first, don’t lose faith. Danny will eventually follow your lead. When I got back from Italy last summer, after the horrid cat sitter, my girl was traumatized and she and her brother were acting like enemies (keep in mind, they’re brother and sister and have been together all of their nearly 14 years). She growled at him something awful and he bullied her in response for nearly two months! I almost gave up hope, but they finally recovered and now they are back to normal, occasional short spats but everyone eats, sleeps and enjoys life together. Hang in there. You all are meant to be together 🙂
Yes, GGail. I think it was yesterday she said that the woman who took him in was now giving him back to Chips. I think this must be meant to be. My theory is that he secretly preferred being with Chips and Danny (even if Danny did growl at him 🙂 ) and so the Gods decided to arrange his return. I think Chips is happy, ’cause she missed the new guy but also worried about Danny not accepting him.
Finally caught up. Wonderful day today with all the newsie stuff. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Nerdy, loved those pictures. No naught matt for me, I am heading for the mattress and I will dream on there. GN TOD Family, see you tomorrow. Tomorrow will be busy so I will have to tape Ellen’s show. We have the Memorial for Pat tomorrow afternoon and expecting 100 + people to participate. Have a good evening.
Chips, expect more stories and pictures of your newbie when you get him back tomorrow too. 🙂
Watching the debate. So far, 20 minutes in, Hillary’s keeping a level tone in her voice. THAT’s what I’ve been waiting for. Speak softly but carry a big stick. Let’s see how long it lasts, because Bernie’s not falling for it. Ha!
i wonder what the point of this is…Sanders is the one who continues to bash the Dems and the sitting President …this is just a different version of both sides do it
So I slept through most of your day & then discovered that the FBI had done a fantastic job in Oregon – despite the many RWNJs desperately wanting a victim so they could call out the horror of the governmint. It would seem the media was onside with those wanting a blood bath. Completely given up on the discussion – no thanks to those who worked so hard to avoid same.
Instead they are now drumming up a war between Hillary & Bernie – the misinformation is strong. No idea how the US will handle the reality of no President Obama leading the way.
Well… lots of gun fetishists in the West are making Finicum a martyr. They don’t believe the FBI film footage and are trying to claim “Hands Up: Don’t Shoot” applied to this creep who chose death by cop rather than go to jail. Nutcase Fry came very close to following in his idol’s footsteps. The FBI really pulled off a miracle here.
Those with any darn sense, aren’t having any bad race relations, it’s the racists who have come out of the woodwork. Mostly thanks to the tea party right wing racists Republicans. Who have been against this black President from day one. And those people don’t give a darn about Bernie Sanders and Sanders lied cause he will not make race relations better.
I have tried to watch the debate but I get so upset when I listen to BS I have to change the channel. I know I shouldn’t be this way but when the Bernie people go after John Lewis and Bernie says nothing I am gone. My husband just got home and he said he was listening to CNN and he thinks it was Bernstein saying that Hillary needs to apologize for emails, Benghazi and then move on. I don’t agree. I am tired of them saying that about Obama and now Hillary. None of the white men presidential candidates or Presidents have appologized.
I am now watching scandal. I’ll follow the debate online.
I agree, that it is easier to win over supporters with lofty rhetoric than with nuts and bolts reality. My fears involve if Bernie wins the Primary it will be easier for the GOP to beat him in the GE. Or if Bernie wins the GE we will lose a lot of Obama’s achievements through Bernie’s unrealistic goals and lack of care in how he intends to enact them.
I think Hillary might win the primary, at this point. Too much stacked up against Bernie. Or not. I’ve been dead wrong before, so we shall see. I share your fears that the GOP will win (we would be doomed) or that we’ll lose a lot of the President’s achievements (more doom and gloom, plus he sweat blood over every achievement, and that can’t happen).
TOD you all have been on fire today!
Now I have to go take a shower (while thinking of that Popular Science magazine cover 😉 ) and then eat some dinner.

My cable froze on several stations including CNN just when Hillary got to speak on foreign policy where she shines. No freezing during Wall St and campaign money portion. It takes a lot for me to get into conspiracy theories since I do not believe in them, but let’s see now, Bernie gets his strength and does not have to show his weakness in FP …. Hmmmmm
An hour and a half in, before Hillary got annoyed. Pretty good!
My opinion, otherwise, for what it’s worth: Hillary cannot handle criticism of ANY kind. She states all of her decisions (but for her vote for the Iraq war) as though if she made them, they were right ~ period. There can never be any dialogue or second thoughts about them. Bernie does the same thing, I guess.
Suppose it comes with the territory of having the ego to “run for President.” I think when President Obama ran, however, he pictured more what he’d do as President, rather than how he’d look and sound, doing it. If that makes any sense.
I used to say all the time that one of my biggest reservations about HRC is that (for a lot of reasons) she has too much to prove. What you’re saying I think dovetails that.
JO’B, maybe it’s the way she understands ‘showing strength’, courage of her conviction, etc. etc.
Meta I like your ‘too much to prove’ analysis; she really does – in both a positive and negative way.
I find myself wondering how much she has had to “adjust” to how she is depicted because she is a woman and the goalposts are constantly being moved. This is not just for her way of speaking or dressing or hair; but also for her work, her ideas, etc. I read an amazing article on this recently which really made me think differently about my attitude towards her.
Eyes too blurry to read that tonight, but I will tomorrow. My only problem is I keep asking myself the question: Why hasn’t she figured it all out by this time? Where’s her self-confidence, to walk in, know her strengths and assets, and to hell with anybody who doesn’t know it? She seems to be the main person holding herself back. She should not go along with other people’s moving her style and goal posts. If she were competing for the job of CEO, would she walk into the boardroom interview and ask if she sounded okay or looked okay or had the right clothing on and the right opinions and goals to get the job? No, she’d say here I am, I am qualified, I’m the best, hire me, you won’t regret it. I truly don’t think she’s “found her voice” (as she said she had back in NH in ’08) and that worries me most.
Of course, maybe I should look at it more like how men and women start relationships with each other – initially, they send in their “representatives.” And by that I mean only the good parts of themselves make it into the room. Ha!
The last few minutes of the debate before the closing statements went to “hell in a hand basket,” but I am very glad Bernie re-stated how he felt about the President, which he says is opposed to how that was depicted by Hillary. Nobody’s asking me, but I feel better about the whole brouhaha.
I never watch them because I can’t stomach the hypocrisy &/ insincerity, but I do appreciate that one-by-one TODobots here have started to reconcile and to ‘feel better about the brouhaha’.
Didn’t mean to imply I needed to reconcile my thoughts against the thoughts of other TODers who’ve already made up their minds – they’re ahead of me. I just left some random comments because I haven’t decided yet, myself. Plus, I try to go with “to each, their own.” #Libra
Unless, of course, we were still Ridin’ with Biden, then I’d be trying to talk everybody else into it, if need be – Ha!
Misunderstanding JO’B I didn’t think you were reconciling with anyone. I took your comments as exactly *your* thoughts. My comment has to do with the fact that (standing back and looking on) over time *I* see different people making more measured commentary as the different scenes shift and settle. IOW I see lots of *gradual growth* happening as people have been coming to terms with the absence in the race of our more favoured candidate.
Yes, I was just stating what I stated “for the record” – wasn’t directed at you, because I thought that was where you were coming from. This is a process, as everybody keeps saying! Wouldn’t be a process if our more favoured candidate were in, but I’ve stopped whining about that – truly! I just like mentioning his name every now and then. 🙂

Just for the sake of discussion, because I’m not on either “side” at this point, but I’m also not buying HRC’s “my best friend and role model is President Obama,” once she saw it was her only way of getting the votes she needed. I add that onto all of her comments about him in ’08, and I get stuck in muck. Yuck.
i have feelings about 08 too…..but PBO made her his SOS….he has moved on ..and so will I…my first choice as you know would be PBO…smilin…then the VP…but it is not to be….Hillary is a flawed candidate but she is our hope for not only continuing but advancing the agenda of the President….
Pretty sure that’s where I’ll end up, too. Either one is where I’m at, now. Not sure what will put me over the top on Hillary, but I’ll know it when I see it! I agree: YES We Must!
Since I wasn’t feeling the Bern, I had to sign on for my recurrence donation to HRC. I hope she wins the nomination and that Bernie Sanders gets an appointment as Minister of Reining-Wall-Street.

I mean, I agree with his point. But I, too, am sick and tired of billionaire, millionaire, and Wall Street talk. With that type of Supreme Court we have and the current GOP-controlled House, will Sanders’s voice alone eliminate the income inequality in this country?
That was the last straw for me. I’d been trying to see the possibilities in his candidacy, because he seems to be so popular, but no more. Anyone, Dem or whatever, who is disappointed in PBO is an idiot, and not likely to do any good.
Remember when Joe took lessons on how to debate with a woman? Even though most of us thought Palin was a loon (and she is), he could not make the mistake of showing himself to be dismissive or disdainful in his reactions to her. Someone needs to remind Bernie that more women, of all races, vote than men.
Bernie Sanders feels so very privileged that he can treat Hillary in this dismissive manner…and claim that he will be better for blk folks than the man in the WH….i am glad that he is revealing who he is…for all to see….
Nailed it for me too. Really enjoyed his observations. He said out loud some things I’ve been thinking about for awhile too.
I’m not on Facebook. Is his page public? If he makes these regularly, I want to be watching them.
Oh, and that “Hillary latched herself onto Obama’s leg like a pit bull.” – almost did a spit take when I heard that! Still laughing at that one as I type 🙂
Prima!?
… Donna?
I guess you earned it. 😀 😀
Congratulations, MadameSoph! Too tired from watching the mess in the Oregon Standoff to really focus on much else today.
WOWZA, Mr. President.
These are gorgeous pics Nerdy! Thanks for the collection!
POTUS is looking mighty fine everywhere today, isn’t he?
Dam that’s a handsome man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where’s the naughty mat?!
🙂
Did POTUS dance on to the stage?
I like these shades of POTUS alot better then the other ones he used to wear. Okay who is going to watch the debate?
Hello, Mr. President!
And that baby pic … oh my goodness!!! The eyes see it!
Those shades totally work for me.
meta look at my comment, I said the same thing about the shades. Looking forward to the Ellen show tomorrow. Let me go check out the debate or maybe watch some basketball.

Thanks for bringing me up to date 😘
🙂
Bringing this over from the bottom of the last thread:
I’m tickled how women bring their babies so that PBO can hold them 😘
They trust him.
They do indeed meta 😊
I’m so sorry that I was soooo close to Ellen’s location and nada 🙁
I must see him in June!!!
Do not appreciate Sanders supporters disrespecting Rep. John Lewis.
You have lots of company bella
Has the man ever, EVER taken a bad picture?????
No
And to add – it has been said one should never make a movie with children or animals – PBO is the absolute exception that proves the rule

Truth be told, I’m not paying attention to some of it … but there’s a lot being discussed in this debate. Good stuff.

Have you watched Scandal yet. Be prepared to be shocked but not surprised. I love Scandal.
It’s only 8:18 pm. I’m fighting to stay awake 😄
Hope you can make it. The show is so well worth it. When I think i can’t be surprised again, I am.

dumbya was the worst possible president of this century and yet none of the rethug candies attack(ed) him.

If and when you do get a chance to read, would love to know what you think. Have a good night.
Just the laugh I needed – thank you!
Hillary just scored big points with me for speaking the truth about how Bernie has disrespected PBO.
Must have missed that bit. Can you remember how it went? Thanks!
GM BRP.
Always behind here, hope you see this…
Me too; and I thought she kicked ass with her closing statement.
Yep.
The last few minutes of the debate before the closing statements went to “hell in a hand basket,” but I am very glad Bernie re-stated how he felt about the President, which he says is opposed to how that was depicted by Hillary. Nobody’s asking me, but I feel better about the whole brouhaha.
I missed that exchange and will need to watch it.

Lost a part of my punctuation in the first sentence – 😀 – probably a sign I should go to bed, especially since I have a breakfast date tomorrow.

I enjoyed HRC’s closing arguments against the Single-Issue-Single-Payer Candidate.
Me too as my cable came back on right before that portion and the closing statements.
Since I wasn’t feeling the Bern, I had to sign on for my recurrence donation to HRC. I hope she wins the nomination and that Bernie Sanders gets an appointment as Minister of Reining-Wall-Street.
Minister of Reining-Wall-Street 😀
Thanks. Feeling gratified.

Yup. What’s good for rethugs is good for …
At least everyone is beginning to see that Bernie is Marco Rubio, Jr. I did not watch the debate because I can’t stand his screaming about Wall Street. I would love to see HRC’s closing.
I mean, I agree with his point. But I, too, am sick and tired of billionaire, millionaire, and Wall Street talk. With that type of Supreme Court we have and the current GOP-controlled House, will Sanders’s voice alone eliminate the income inequality in this country?
Perfect!
