    Chips posted this in Early Morning Chat and I didn’t get to read it until later.

    If you guys have a chance, you should definitely give it a watch.
    Here is my comment from the earlier thread and the YouTube that Chips posted:

    ~~~
    Oh Chips, this was so moving!
    I was curious what happened to the girlfriend and son, so I Googled for more info and found this detailed article about the two men’s story. It’s even more amazing than in the documentary film:
    http://site.macleans.ca/longform/his-brothers-keeper/
    • February 9, 2016 at 7:57 pm
      Oh wow MadameSoph, I’m off to read those links – I was wondering about the girlfriend and son too. Thanks a million!
    • February 9, 2016 at 8:28 pm
      Oh MadameSoph, I’m drained after reading that, I thought the video was beyond belief, but it only touched on their stories. I completely missed in the video that Najah was held as a POW for 17 years, and that Saddam ordered the execution of all returning POWs. Good gawd. And then the story about Mina …. no words.
      • 31 MadameSoph
        February 9, 2016 at 8:44 pm
        I know, the story about Mina got to me too, and also how Zahed had actually attempted suicide and been found and that’s how he ended up at the center where he met Najah! It was just an amazing story.
        • February 9, 2016 at 8:53 pm
          I’ve honestly never read anything like it, they are incredible men to be battling on in life after everything they endured, that they found each other and are now like brothers is mind-blowing. Thanks a million for the link, speechless.
      Same guy who won NH in 2000 – how did that work out
      • February 10, 2016 at 4:34 am
        Exactly, 99ts! Something is terribly wrong with us Americans! We have such short-term memories. Bill Clinton lost NH in 1992, but he was eventually elected President. George W. Bush lost the NH GOP primary to McCain in 2000, and he too became President. And, finally, Brack Obama lost the 2008 New Hampshire Democratic primary, but he was elected President. He also, in 2008, won NH in the general election. I hope the Bernies are not prematurely celebrating having won the nomination.
        • 45 99ts
          February 10, 2016 at 4:47 am
          It gives them momentum and hope which is what people want – but surely they know they cannot win a general & I can see no point in supporting a candidate who cannot win. I think the dems (and the US) will have some ghastly times in the future if the GOP wins the Presidency – minorities and women will think the past 8 years were a breeze.
      When President Obama’s Grandmother died, I felt so sad for him, sent a card to HI to address found, wrote note to the whole family, President Obama and his sister’s, months later received a hand written note from Maya Soetoro-Ng thanking me for kind words. She must be as wonderful as her brother.
      • February 10, 2016 at 8:29 am
        Oh, wow, Anna. What a wonderful gesture on your part and a response in kind. I met Maya in the very early days when she held a small gathering here in SF. She is indeed the most lovely person – very warm, smart, funny and sweet. What a keepsake for you!!
        • February 10, 2016 at 5:10 am
          Exactly, Donna! It’s time for the real Democrats to wake up! We must not allow Bernie Sanders to hand the presidency to Donald Trump! Because I was still angry at the Clinton Campaign in 2008, with its dog-whistle racism, I had planned on doing very little to support Hillary. The recent revelations about the Sanders’ campaign, which is focused on running against President Obama’s policies, woke me up. I am now going to devote more effort in supporting Hillary Clinton.
    • February 10, 2016 at 4:58 am
      Amazing! So now the “purity progressives” are aligned with the NRA members? I am sorry, but I am not terribly impressed with the Sander’s “Revolutionaries.” After VP Joe Biden decided not to run, I was a strong supporter of Gov. O’Malley. But now that he is out of the race, I will be supporting Hillary Clinton. I just don’t think that the libertarian Ron Paul supporters, who are now supporting Bernie, should be allowed to chose a presidential nominee of the Democratic Party.
        Hillary is smart enough to have learned from 2008. As you and I both know, tough women learn how to adapt and grow and work steadily toward a goal. PBO said that Hillary is brilliant and a very hard worker and we both know he’s rooting for her. Slowly and steadily she will win this race. And when the time comes, PBO will be her staunchest and most tireless supporter in the field.
    Just read about the voting holdups – somehow the US has to sort out its voting – that people have to queue for hours and are then caught in traffic jams trying to get to the poll is 3rd world voting big time. Our governments at all levels actually fund elections – no volunteers, well paid poll clerks.
    Never thought this would happen in NH.
      When the Bernie Fantasy is over, President Obama won’t have any choice but work very hard to rally the “dreamers” who are supporting Bernie. President Obama will have to reeducate them about how hard it is to bring change. Hillary has many qualities but she struggles to inspire like the President. He’ll have to help her in the general election. A lot.
