    I’ve had my TV on MSNBC all day. Since this news broke, there’s been many R’s on. Not a single one of them can say even one tiny positive thing about PO, SoS Kerry or anyone in this administration. They all admit/agree that this is wonderful that the people are coming home, but it is ALWAYS followed by negative and/or critical comments. It’s not that I am surprised by this. It just reminds us of the immense hatred toward this administration. So, so sad.

      ODS – OBAMA DERANGEMENT SYNDROME – BY NANCEGREGGS, ON AUGUST 11TH, 2013

      http://www.democratsforprogress.com/2013/08/11/ods-obama-derangement-syndrome/

      If Obama did it, it must have been the wrong thing to do. When it turns out to have been the right thing to do, then Obama never did it. And if he did do it, he did it the wrong way. It was too little, too late – or it was too much, too soon. It went too far – while, at the same time, it didn’t go far enough. And even if it turns out to have been right, it’s still wrong.

      If Obama proposed it, it can’t possibly work. When it does work, it was somebody else’s idea all along, an idea he blatantly stole just to make himself look good. That’s because he knew it would work all along – even though it can’t possibly work.

      If Obama stands firm, he is being stubborn. If he seeks compromise, he is caving. Obama should lead while following. He should be more hands-on while staying out of it completely. Why can’t he take the reins and do what must be done? Why can’t he mind his own goddamned business?

    When Bush was in office and if I had a loved one held captive and Bush held get him released, I would have had no problem thanking Bush. It just kills these right wing haters of Obama to say something nice to him. What ashame.

      REPUGNANT COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL NEWS…SHOWS THE IMMATURITY AND LACK OF CHARACTER THESE CANDIDATES HAVE. THEY ARE SHALLOW AND FRANKLY EXTREMELY SELFISH…THINKING OF THEIR OWN POLITICAL GOALS AND NOT THE JOY FOR THESE FAMILIES! IT BREAKS MY HEART TO SEE THE FAILURE OF THIS EXTREMELY GODLESS SOCIETY. MARK MY WORDS…IT WILL BOOMERANG! YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW!

      Yes, swblue
      This is an important point.

      Also, when the Palestinians finally released Gilad Shalit to Israel, 1027 Palestinians were the number traded for him.
      Yes, you read that right. 1 Israeli for 1027 Palestinians.

      The first point is that it is not a bean counter issue, as the childish Trump is saying. 5 Americans for 7 Iranians.
      Diplomacy is for educated mature individuals, not small minded business accountant tit for tat types.

      ALL Credit goes to PBO VPB and SOS Kerry and their staffs.

      MSNBC just said that PBO has sent an executive order to Congress requesting they lift the sanctions that they put on Iran.

      Watch for mischief…..

      He can only lift those that the executive branch put in place.

      • 92 hopefruit2
        January 16, 2016 at 4:31 pm

        An executive order to congress?!?!?!? Executive order implies that congress is not involved….the sanctions are lifted by the President.

      • 93 hopefruit2
        January 16, 2016 at 4:33 pm

        PBO simply notified congress of his EO to lift the sanctions which were in effect. He doesn’t need congress to lift sanctions which were put in place by EO’s in the first place.

    as we celebrate the achievements of PBO and SoS Kerry in Iran, I can’t help but ponder how the State of Israel has messed up these years by refusing to use PBO’s wisdom and patience to try and make progress on their conflict with the Palestinians;

    Israel’s voters had a chance to reject bibi’s politics of fear and they choose to remain in the status quo that is clearly untenable in the long-term;

    I could be wrong but I think that a time will come when many who vehemently opposed to the efforts PBO was make on the Israel-Palestine question will deeply regret it …. how can a majority of people be so short-sighted on an issue that threatens their very existence and moral compass

    RWNJ are falling all over themselves to say something negative about the Obama administration. A simple thank you President Obama & Secretary Kerry would be a fate worse than death to them. Donald Chump said it took too long to release the prisoners. Ted (not an American Citizen) thanked God for their release. Later talked about how bad the nuclear deal was and that the Obama administration traded 7 terrorist for our 5 people. SMDH
