Ms Tsai, 59, leads the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) that wants independence from China.
In her victory speech, she vowed to preserve the status quo in relations with China, adding Beijing must respect Taiwan’s democracy and both sides must ensure there are no provocations.
China sees the island as a breakaway province – which it has threatened to take back by force if necessary.

To me, he is talking about the extremism that is being so disruptive to our progress. President Obama has been the catalyst for change; one that speaks to the rational and sane among us. He wants “Obamium” to be USEFUL and not just a shiny object. This speaks to not just his years as President, but reflects on his pre-POTUS years and envisions his post-POTUS years.
The reason he has been able to maneuver around the bitterness, the deceitfulness, and the obstruction that has become poltics and government, is because of 1) his focus on what he is there to do, 2) his commitment to the people he is working for, 3) his awareness of the environment that he is working in (i.e., politicians, corporations, MSM, etc.), and 4) his self-awareness — especially of his strengths and being able to utilize these strengths to get the job done.
