Posted this morning, when I was in “comment and go” mode (and thought “A day to remember” referred to #ImplementationDay and the freed Americans).

From yesterday, John Kerry’s schedule this week will leave your head spinning…

Obama has made us weak, well if we had listen to the Republicans we would had bomb Iran and started another war possible. So now do the American people want another war or successful diplomacy?

Dang, he’s turning into Nader 2.0 — if Bernie hands the presidency to GOP I will never forgive him.

My choice is also dependent on who might best continue PBO’s policies. That is why I was liking Martin best, but no chance there so probably Hilary although I still think she goes for whatever policy will get her the best poll count.

What a week!! Aloha TOD and a big thank you to all of you, for your excellent reports this week. From the SOTU to the Iran hostage release, our president has just kept the momentum revving, with hardly a breath between powerful announcements. As usual, by the time I get here, the news is made, and all I can do is applaud, smile, and praise ❤

Here is a link I've posted before, regarding the flower lei worn by MLK and his close associates. Just a reminder of the world-wide scope and vision of this great leader. http://www.allhawaiinews.com/2012/01/why-did-rev-martin-luther-king-jr-wear.html

The truth is Joe Scarborough and these Republicans don’t want to admit that President Obama is a success. It kills them to say something positive so they are coming up with negative things. Pitiful hateful Republicans. This President is a success and it kills you.

      • January 16, 2016 at 6:34 pm

To them, it must be a weakness to admit that you’re wrong or that you made a mistake. Instead, they just double down and ignore the reality that is staring them in the face.

It’s happened again…like so many times during the Obama era. Just when I get down about where things seem to be going in this country, we learn about the work President Obama and Secretary Kerry have been doing to negotiate the release of prisoners in Iran (check out that link for some fascinating details).

This kind of thing has happened so often that when I get discouraged, I actually hear a little voice inside my head saying, “hold on…something good is going to happen soon to reignite your hope.” That is President Obama’s legacy at work in my brain.

Goes to show Donald Trump and the rest of the GOP have the wrong temperment to be President. They do not have the patience or understanding necessary to use diplomacy over hot headed reactive physical warlike responses. Remember when BHO was campaigning against HRC saying he was right for the job as he had the necessary temperment for the presidency? Proven!

I am going totally off topic now.
Some time ago we learned that PBO’s favorite TV show this year was The Knick. I said I’d taped it and when I’ve seen it i would comment.
    So, here goes.
My guess is that the President loved this show because it celebrates Science. Science as an expression of human curiosity and creativity.

It is set in NYC back around 1920 in a hospital, the Knickerbocker, which gives the show its name. Medicine was pretty primitive then.
But people are always the same.
So you have the very rich manipulating everything,, entirely corrupt, and still coming out on top. (boooo)
Racism is confronted head-on when a highly talented black surgeon arrives. ( Happy ending on this thread. yay)

The hero Clive Owen is a drug addict and wildly talented and creative surgeon. pretty much invents the spinal block still used for easing childbirth. I won’t give away the ending.

For me— definitely not my favorite show. not even close. Way too rough and real and grim and gross.

But, i think i get why POTUS admires it. maybe.

  48. 127 99ts
    January 16, 2016 at 6:38 pm

    Hahahaha

Just before I went to bed Knoller was tweeting that the President had nothing planned for the weekend – guarantees a big announcement

And the dimwits blame the President for the deadlock in congress – so obvious who refuses to negotiate and it sure isn’t the President.

Also, John Kerry deserves accolades for the work he does – I remember thinking since forever Sec of State is next to the hardest job on the planet. Every CEO who accepts their millions should study Sec Kerry to see what it is like to earn your pay.

When I look at what PBO has done on the International scene, I think every American should be crying at how the GOP and the media has fought anything he has tried to do internally.. This man is an unbelievable negotiator – the GOP is the idiot who blocks the ears and says nononnono. It really was all about making PBO a one term President and all it did was harm the people they are elected to serve.
