Would the Invite have been made, had the book be supportive of Pres Obama on Mourning Joke?
Please!
Watch every utterance of any of these people on Cable TV……for a while now, it is very difficult to find any strong supporter of Pres Obama. So those invited are always on a programmed, robotic mindset…….they will equivocate and apologize for forgiveness should their brain freeze and utter a Fact, Kind or Positive word in support of Pres Obama. This behavior, sadly has been happening with Comedians too. That is just wicked.
It’s like they are shy, scared and embarrassed to be found out that They are Publicly supporting Pres Obama. That irks me the most; hence my 1st Tweet was to Romney and his tweet about Birtherism……linking Cruz’s Canadian Birth to Pres Obama’s Hawaiian Birth.
I am a Black man and he hasn’t failed me either, pkayden! I am also a senior citizen who has lived under many presidents and President Obama is best in my lifetime.
Part of the problem is a lack of understanding of how government works. There was probably an expectation that PBO would come in and say “thus” and it would be so. Apparently, they haven’t been paying attention to the obstruction that has been taking place since he’s been in office. Nor do they remember the state of the country — especially financially — on day one of PBO’s presidency.
Also, there seems to be the expectation that PBO would do all the work, and we would just sit back and reap the benefits. As, he said in the town hall today, he didn’t say, “Yes *I* can.” He said, “Yes *WE* can.”
This administration has achieved many accomplishments that have been beneficial to *ALL*, which includes black America. I suppose if he didn’t specifically say, “I’m doing this for black America,” it didn’t count.
“Part of the problem is a lack of understanding of how government works.”
If that’s the case, swbluega, then that’s a terrible indictment of our educational system. If Iam not mistaken, Eddie Glaude Jr., like Corny West, is a professor at Princeton. If professors at prestigious Universities lack an understanding of how government works,” we are in deep trouble!
Nathkatun7, I was primarily thinking about how often PBO has been criticized because of a belief that all he had to do was issue an executive order. They seem to discount the role of the legislative branch and ignore the limitations of the executive branch.
I often wonder when people –who are assumed to have some degree of intelligence based on their level of education — say things that make no sense or is lacking in fact, if they really believe what they are saying, or if they are just trying to be controversial…knowing that there are those who take every word that comes out of their mouth as gospel.
I teach the Constitution to 8th graders and it amazes me, even after 6 weeks of teaching who does what, that they still think the President can do things he constitutionally is unable to do so. They are always so surprised when they realize how limited the executive branch, and the president, really are; how it takes all 3 branches of gov’t to work together that makes government work.
It makes it even more egregious how the GOP has destroyed the benefits of good government, maybe for a long, long time. “We the people” indeed need to do something about this, first by voting out these a$$holes.
I must be coming in at the very end, sigh. Oh well. Busy morning. Nevermind. I am watching and thinking how far beyond counting must be the number of people all around the world Barack Obama has touched, hugged, kissed, held the hand of, shaken hands with. It must be way over several million by now. And he is going strong, Light in his Eyes, Strength in his Heart. He gives, he receives in like kind. ❤ 🐻 ❤
Yo, 57! Just cruising past threads (now that I can’t vacuum anymore 😦 ), seeing this. I had a miserable month with a Motorola, before it failed completely, Motorola replaced it, but I was burned. Having said that, I guess I’d better get on with condensing it and not leave us all wondering, rather tell the tale and leave us in wonder! (she did not like the vacuum cleaner anyway, she is quite alright with it blowing up!)

Some serious fodder for trolls here. They, too, shall disappear into the haze once PBO changes out of the WH. I have read the article and posted to DU. This is my primary concern about Bernie Sanders. He cannot get anything done because he lacks the political capital and leadership skills to do so. And then there’s the problem of down ticket Dem candidates.
I have come to dislike him more and more. There is an arrogance and a willful lack of understanding that terrifies me. The campaign acts like a bunch of petulant children, and is fostering a leftist “us or them or nobody” mindset that is terrifying. He’s Nader on steroids. His entire career, he has said how much better he could do things, and he isn’t yet prepared with policy positions and an acceptable definition of “Democratic socialist” that won’t terrify Americans into voting for Ted Cruz? I’ve heard reporters say that he is awful, difficult, and grouchy all the time. He doesn’t have the temperament to lead, to persuade, to work with people. Of course I believe in 98% of what he believes, but believing isn’t achieving. I expected to be happy with him as a candidate, and I have growing concerns.
Good information for folks to know Dudette. Republicans count on folks not knowing facts. I have noticed that all of Trump supporters say the same thing when they are interviewed. He says whatever he wants, he is not beholding to anyone, he won’t make side deals, etc. It is so sad.
We are less than a month away from the start of the 2016 presidential primary and caucus season. On February 1, the Iowa caucuses will kick off the 2016 election cycle. A little over a week later, the New Hampshire primaries will follow. The process goes on through spring as both parties choose a presidential ticket for the 2016 election.
As a U.S. citizen, your vote is not only something politicians compete for, but your constitutional right. And exercising that right is as American as the stars and stripes. Before election year officially takes off, USAGov wants to help you get ready with these steps for participating in your state’s primaries or caucuses:
1. Mark the calendar. Primaries and caucuses take place from February to mid-June leading up to the November 8 election. Find out when your state’s will be and make sure you don’t miss them.
2. Register to vote. If you’re not already a registered voter, look up your state on Vote.USA.gov to begin the process. States have different deadlines, so check with your state’s election office to see how soon before its primaries or caucuses you have to register.
3. Research candidates. Debates, town halls, speeches and campaign events–election year is many things, but boring is not one of them. Study the issues, learn how to research candidates, and find out what to look for before, during, and after a debate.
4. Make a plan. It may sound obvious, but having a voting plan is one of the most important things you can do after registering. Work, school, picking up the kids and grocery shopping can make any day hectic. Making a plan to get to your polling station is key. Are you driving? Taking the bus? If you know you won’t be able to make it, you may be able to vote absentee ahead of time. Active military members can also vote absentee and make their voices heard at the polls. Plan ahead and make sure you get your vote in on time.
5. Spread the word. Friends, family and acquaintances often talk politics, but sometimes don’t make it to the ballot box. Make sure those around are as prepared as you. If they haven’t registered, send them to Vote.USA.gov to register. Be the informed one in your group.
I’m waiting for the house mom yo return to the group home where my cousin lives. (Had a good trip down and a good visit with Sue.). The D mayor of Knoxville has a close relationship w/ the WH so she got him to come for this meeting. So proud that Mark got invited.
Judge throws out case against police officer charged in takedown of Indian grandfather

There will not be a third trial.
Judge Madeline Hughes Haikala just threw out the case against Madison police officer Eric Parker, who faced up to 10 years in prison for excessive force in the sidewalk stop of an Indian citizen.
Judge Haikala late Wednesday filed a 92-page opinion, ending with: “The Government has had two full and fair chances to obtain a conviction; it will not have another.”

I’m going to try this again: I : heart : MP
Well, I couldn’t get it to work on my creaky PC at work.
And none of those millions are me! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!

heh.
It’s an issue which needs to be litigated. Serves Republicans right for harassing President Obama about his place of birth for years.
As the good book says: “You Shall Reap what you Sow.”
I believe Cruz is an American Citizen.
I do not believe that he is a ‘natural born’ citizen.
There is a difference.
I want the answer to the question.

But, I do want the answer to the question
