  11. January 13, 2016 at 9:28 pm

I literally keeled over dying in laughter when I saw this 😀 😀 😀 😀

“The latest video from the extremists occupying a federal reserve in Oregon features a militant named Jon Ritzheimer — but the real star of the clip is a bag of dicks. The group — which has been dubbed Y’All Qaeda and Vanilla ISIS on social media — has been calling on sympathetic members of the public to send in the supplies a band of hardened survivalists need, such as French vanilla coffee creamer, Miracle Whip, hair conditioner and pillowcases. In the new video, Ritzheimer said people are certainly responding to the plea… just not in the way he had hoped. He complained of getting “hateful stuff” such as a giant dong and a bag of dicks. both of which he briefly shows in the video.

The militants, led by Ammon Bundy, have been holed up at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge since Jan. 2. “It’s really ridiculous,” Ritzheimer complains. “Rather than going out and doing good, they just spend all their money on hate and hate and hate and hate.” Ritzheimer noisily throws all the “hateful stuff” off the table so he can “continue to do what’s right for our country.” He ends with a plea for more “patriots” to join the group. “Enough talk, now it’s time for action,” Ritzheimer says in the clip.”

    Update:

Beautiful reception of PBO by the good people of Omaha!

    I am not supposed to be crying …. but I am …. ;

    thanks a lot for the post Ms. Chips;

    and huge thanks to the people of Omaha who once again reinforce what PBO said in SOTU about the type of people who always keep him hopeful about human beings and the future we can create together;

PBO is just an unstoppable force. If I were a Republican presidential candidate right now, I would be saying, “Oh Hell.” And the thing is, he’s just getting started.

Thank you so much for all the posts, and this one is fab as well! I’m going to go up, work my way down thread & savour.

I kept trying to think of a word or something to describe those Repubs & Ryan’s faces throughout SOTU. And, bingo, it came to me: They looked like they ate that damn rabbit Glenn Close’s character in Fatal Attraction put in that pot. Looked like a good idea to kill, boil, & eat, but it left a karma taste on their tongues.

What was up with those military guys in that front row?

What was up with those military guys in that front row?

they are upset that Obama took away their war games boards.

        January 13, 2016 at 10:55 pm

Brats! Give your own limb or other body part for each one of those medals on your damn chest, see how you feel about your war game boards then. Uggh!!

    • January 13, 2016 at 10:53 pm

By protocol, The JCS and Supreme Court Justices don’t applaud during the speech; however, the JCS did stand and applaud when PBO saluted the troops (camera did a real quick cut away).

      • 50 Gazelle
        January 13, 2016 at 11:03 pm

I noticed that, and one of the guys, actually wanted to stand & clap, turned to his peeps to see if it was okay. But why couldn’t they show it on their faces. Can’t clap, can’t stand up, but you should be able to show facial expressions. No?

      • 51 jacquelineoboomer
        January 13, 2016 at 11:11 pm

Yes. I recall the first time, many years ago, when I didn’t know that protocol, and was like all WTH? But I totally get the reasoning – including for the military who cannot politicize their support to their Commander in Chief.

Last night someone said when he was making his way out: 8 more years. And he said, “For you, not me.” Couldn’t see who said it, off camera. The in Omaha, someone yelled out, 4 more years! Lordy, we’re not ready to let “the kenyan usurper” go! I say, he’ll continue to be Citizen America! Far better title, less BS, & he’ll tell it like it is. Damn, I can’t wait for what’s coming next.

Chips, he’s going to do something outta sight, so you better keep us all sanely informed with TOD!

  19. January 13, 2016 at 9:53 pm

OMG, Chips!! What a wonderful round-up of this spectacular day!! Thank you so much.

I’m still a little blown away by the reception for POTUS in a RED state!!

    January 13, 2016 at 9:55 pm

Chips, this is just an amazing summary of a glorious day for the President and all of us. PBO just takes your breath away and seems to defy time by taking us back seven years to when he lit up every arena he entered with his passion and optimism. He is a force of nature, giving everything he has to pull this country away from cynicism and non involvement. If this is what he’s going to be doing this year, we are in for a wild, wonderful ride.

    • January 13, 2016 at 10:16 pm

Jackie, thanks a million! I really felt like I was in a time machine today it felt like 2008/2012 all over again, and you could see how moved he was by the reception. He loves getting the hell out of DC so much I hope he spends most of the year on the road, the love and appreciation for him out there is immense.

        January 13, 2016 at 10:19 pm

Didn’t he take a ‘last look” at the congress yesterday and told them ‘good bye, muthafuckas’? The corrupt congress can kiss his ass.

      • 69 jackiegrumbacher
        January 13, 2016 at 10:28 pm

I think that when the time comes for him to leave the WH, he does not want to have one single regret that he left anything undone. He’s not going to get anymore legislation out of the losers in Congress, so he’s going where the potential for the “win” is still high–the American people.

      • January 14, 2016 at 2:22 am

My thoughts, too. This post is so juicy! Thanks, Chips!

Great videos. Thanks LP for posting! The older gentleman in the first video admits he’s a Republican – yet he can find it within himself to show our President respect and to thank him for his service. Surely, Republicans in congress can take a page from this man’s book?

  21. January 13, 2016 at 9:57 pm

Please don’t say that. The right e already have enough conspiracy, now POTUS is passing a executive order so he can run for a third term. That one was out there too.

    • January 13, 2016 at 10:03 pm

Now they will say he is going to get our guns in his third term.

    • 78 jackiegrumbacher
      January 13, 2016 at 10:03 pm

Bella, he doesn’t want or need a third term. He’s just going to give everything he has until the last moment so that everyone in this country knows what a real president is and won’t accept the empty suits posing as candidates that liter the field on the Republican side. For seven years he’s done everything he could within the system. Now he’s out to fix the system itself so that it will be whole for future generations.

    January 13, 2016 at 10:33 pm

Been super busy these past few days. DVR’d the SOTU from CBS and then remembered I can watch YouTube on my television set so I found a YouTube of the speech without all the commentary and watched it last night.

I do not have sufficient words to describe the greatness of this man, this President. I see now why he wanted Edith Childs in the audience for this. This speech was all about citizenry – his and ours. He was coming full circle from when he told us “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for; we are the change we seek.” He reminded us of that at the beginning of his presidency and is now repeating it for us as we enter his last year in office.

He kept looking directly at the camera to make sure we knew he was speaking directly to We, the People. Before the days of television, internet, etc. a President made the SOTU speech to the Congress as the representatives of the people. But PBO knows most of those Senators and Reps do not really put the people’s interests first. He was skipping over them and speaking directly to us.

PBO knows how many of us have been feeling uninspired with, as one Tweet described it, “the downgrade from President Obama to Bernie or Hilary”. He knows that many of us have been a bit lost at the prospect of a future without PBO at the helm. His message was letting us know that he will be right there with us, our “Community Organizer in Chief” (and I am using this title with the utmost admiration, knowing full well how opponents tried to use his experience to belittle him – to me his experience gathering and firing up the people was and will be one of his great strengths).

I am re-inspired, re-ignited and once again full of hope. We may never have another President like Barack Obama, but the man – this great man – is not going anywhere! 🙂 It’s going to be o.k.

      • 86 MadameSoph
        January 13, 2016 at 11:15 pm

That was the great comfort I took from his speech, Daiseymay: He has always been and still will be one of us. He loves this country and wants, just like we do, for us to move “Forward”. I think he knew many of us needed that reassurance, and he gave it to us with the SOTU.

Was hoping to catch up with you, VC, with another “story.”

Great grandson’s 5th birthday is tomorrow! Spoke with him on Monday, and I said “Only three more days, and you’ll be 5!” And he said, “Yes, 5, and then I’ll be 6 and then 7.” And (because on his 4th birthday last year, he said to me, “Remember last week, when I was 3?”) I said, “Remember last week when you were 4?” And he said, all patronizing-like, “I’m still 4.” (And then he gave me a fast I’m-done-with-her-games-now “Want to talk with Mommy? Love ya bye!”) And then I heard today that, to celebrate his birthday, he asked “to go out to dinner.” Ha! And his Mommy said that tonight he mentioned, “It’s my birthday eve.” I’m thinking he thinks it’s gonna be like Christmas morning, tomorrow.

I do admit that every time he says “cat” or “dog,” I find it amazing, so put that in the mix when you wonder why I told you the above!

Sweet dreams to you on his “birthday eve”!

    Greetings TOD village!
Thank you Chips, Nerdy, all bts and contributors for the coverage of last night’s SOTU and today’s Omaha coverage with videos of the long lines, full arena and the warm reception he received from “We the People”. Don’t know how I would have ever survived 7 years of nastiness toward our president without this blog and this community. I may seldom comment, but I’m always lurking, because TOD IS my source for news and all things POTUS, VPOTUS, FLOTUS, SLOTUS and PBO’s administration. THANK YOU ALL!

I do have one thought to share. There will come a day when the GOP, MSM and their monied interests are going to desparately wish that citizen Barack Hussein Obama was still corraled within the confines of the Office of President. When the bear is on the loose as a citizen and Community Organizer in Chief, he and his OFA/Obamabot army will be a force to be reckoned with. Until then I wake up every day thankful that Barack Obama is still President of the United States of America. God bless HIM, FL Michelle, VP Joe, SL Jill and the entire Obama administration. God bless all of you too!

    • January 14, 2016 at 1:06 am

Yep, they’re gonna wish real bad he could be strapped down and PBO will just give em a toothy grin and say: “Sorry, I’m loose, I’mma assemble wherever I damn well please”…And we’ll be in tow 😀

  42. January 14, 2016 at 2:05 am

I had one of those days…. Busy, hectic, got an appointment screwed up, put in a week’s work in one LONG day. I had MSNBC on for the evening “entertainment” shows while finishing prep for the next week of an online course (Family and Intimate Relations, which is so much fun and so rewarding to teach to university students). But I hadn’t heard a word on four hours of so-called news about the incredible reception me beloved POTUS had experienced in Omaha. How heartfelt and how satisfying it is to witness these video and photos. It reminds me of my own waiting to see him in sub-zero temperatures at my university eight years ago. He is beloved and will remain so. It is generally the great ones that are subjected to the kind of derogation he has had to experience.I am so grateful for him — and so thankful for Chips and NW for their gift to us.
